Kanye and Kid Cudi deliver highly anticipated joint album ‘KIDS SEE GHOSTS’ [Stream]

Kanye West officially decreed we’re in for a G.O.O.D. summer, announcing via Twitter a slate of five albums that his camp would be delivering across the month of June, starting with Pusha T’s vicious Daytona, immediately followed by Kanye’s long-awaited eighth studio product, ye which debuted at a live listening party in Jackson Hole, Wyoming on June 1. Perhaps even more tantalizing was the confirmation of a joint album between Yeezy and fellow hip-hop trailblazer Kid Cudi. Keeping good on the schedule, Kanye and Cudi have delivered their first full-length collaboration, KIDS SEE GHOSTS.

As with Pusha and Kanye’s previous offerings, Cudi and Ye’s new LP follows the same seven-track design, all wrapped up in cover art by Japanese contemporary artist Takashi Murakami. The record, which continues tropes from West’s ye, features a large supporting cast with contributions spanning from André 3000 to Ty Dolla $ign, including Ratatat’s E*Vax, Mos Def, and posthumous credits from late New Orleans jazz figure Louis Prima, and Kurt Cobain.

The album’s initial upload mislabeled the track titles and order on all DSPs, though you can find the official track list and stream KIDS SEE GHOSTS below.

1. Feel the Love
2. Fire
3. Fourth Dimension [ft. Louis Prima]
4. Freeee (Ghost Town, Pt. 2)
5. Reborn
6. Kids See Ghosts
7. Cudi Montage

Pluto and ye. saw a lot of success for their recent collaboration “Feel The Fire,” and now a bunch of a remixes are coming out for the track, including this little bitty from Bronze Whale.

The original played with the rhythm and melody throughout the track, creating titillating harmonies from start to finish. Bronze Whale does the same with a more interconnected style, rather than the staccato pads in the original. The vocals are also pitched up and made more anthemic, raising the energy by a considerable degree.

And to my own bias, the drum & bass breakdown at the end of the song goes a very long way in making me fall in love with this remix. Check it all out below!

This kid ye. is the future. He’s been making music under a year but is already starting to turn some real heads and gets better with every release. Last week he dropped “dffle” a new original single featuring pitched up vocals that he messes with, lots of bass, layered synthesizers and an overall swaggy future

You’ve probably heard ye.‘s collab with Pluto. Or maybe you’ve heard about him from the multiple times he’s hit #1 on Hype Machine. If not that, maybe it was through ODESZA, The Chainsmokers, or MrSuicide Sheep. In any case, this 20-year-old producer is paving a sizable path to success with each release he has. His newest, “dffle,” is no different.

Addicting pitched-up vocals lead the song. They get chopped up as drums come in to establish the beat of the track. “All I do is hustle,” breaks the build immediately followed by stringy synths playing a melody that has you craving more. It is unique in that it could be played at any time. I could easily see this track going off in the club, or going off in your headphones while you study for finals. ye. has definitely created a truly inspiring track nonetheless.

To make their move into the commercial realm, the rising pair have released the vocal mix of their breakout track that is now titled “Feel The Fire.” Primed with a soul-ridden, uncredited female vocal, ye. and Pluto transform their reactive instrumental into a fully developed song that will certainly help put both of them on the map.
