Kaskade Tries To Troll Eric Prydz And Above & Beyond, But It Didn’t Go As Planned

This post was originally published on this site

Kaskade just pulled a major troll on his fans this afternoon, when he announced that he was going to be in Miami next month for Miami Music Week, and would be throwing a free 12 hour Redux party at the same time as Eric Prydz and Above & Beyond’s show.

As one might expect, we were all a little taken aback by this news… even Prydz himself.

Turns out it was just a simple troll, and Kaskade won’t even be in the state of Florida during MMW, let alone throwing a party there.

So cheers to Kaskade for having a little fun with fans… you jerk. <3

Lil Wayne & Nicki Minaj To Be Featured On Next David Guetta Single

This post was originally published on this site

In a Facebook live stream late last week, David Guetta announced to fans that an upcoming single would feature vocals from Lil Wayne and Nicki Minaj. Minaj, who’s previously worked with Guetta on the smash hit “Hey Mama” also just released a new track with Major Lazer last week.

To her credit, Diplo said that he’s never worked with an artist “so disciplined” before.

“She wrote 16 different verses for this song. She’s so inspired. It’s crazy. I’ve never had an artist be so disciplined on cutting a song … She’s one of my favourite rappers.”

“My next single is featuring Nicki Minaj and Lil Wayne,” Guetta says in the stream. “We have a good combination with Nicki. Every time we make records they are really incredible and very successful. I think she’s very very special and we work really good together. It’s exciting. Plus we have Lil Wayne on top of that.”

Guetta has produced three records for Minaj, “Where Them Girls At” and “Turn Me On” in 2011, and “Hey Mama” in 2015; all three are certified platinum.

The big news of the day is undoubtedly President Trump’s executive order, banning immigration from a select group of countries in the middle east. Many thousands of people across the country have already begun demonstrating at international airport terminals in protest of the decree.

For their part, many dance music DJs have also voiced their concern of the #MuslimBan on Twitter.

Grey, Zedd & Hailee Steinfeld’s Hit Collab “Starving” Goes Platinum in the U.S.

This post was originally published on this site

Since EDM’s explosion in popularity, many crossover tracks have made their way to top 40 radio and sold thousands of copies. Zedd, one of the genre’s leading crossover ambassadors, has experienced some of the most success from adapting his electro house sound to fit pop radio, with hits like “Clarity,” “Stay the Night” and “I Want You to Know” selling over a million copies — or going platinum under the Recording Industry Association of America‘s classification for single sales.

This week,  we learned Zedd has yet another hit to add to his roster of platinum-earning singles, his very first as a featured artist: “Starving,” his hit collaboration with duo Grey and actress-turned-pop star Hailee Steinfeld. “Starving” released in July 2016 with both chart and critical success, with the three performing the track live at events like the Nickeloden HALO Awards show, and now the single has earned a spot atop the platinum-earning RIAA singles ranks. Congratulations to Grey, Hailee Steinfeld and Zedd!

KSHMR Shares Preview Of New Song On Facebook

This post was originally published on this site

KSHMR rose in popularity throughout 2016 with ferocity – from playing a massive set at Coachella to releasing his debut extended EP, he’s consistently hit every benchmark for a growing artist, let alone one who’s already established.

It comes as no surprise that he’s producing more music in 2017, and he’s just shared a quaint snippet of a new track via Facebook. Featuring softly plucked guitar strings, and resembling a bard’s song from medieval times, with an Indian flair, of course, this untitled track has our hair standing on end.

FIRST LISTEN: Martin Garrix Teases New Song On Instagram Live

This post was originally published on this site

Hot off the release of his new single “Scared To Be Lonely,” Martin Garrix went live on Instagram for the first time to celebrate. In doing so, he interacted with fans and got everyone hyped for new music in 2017. He even gave fans a first listen to a new track he’s been working on.

Garrix himself acknowledges that it sounds a bit like “Tremor,” but that it’s really just a first draft. He also said that it has a drop right now, but he’s not happy with it. The build has his classic melodic chord progression that we’ve come to know so well.

Thanks to @worldofmartingarrix for capturing this!

Dimitri Vegas: From Sold-Out World Tours to Jurassic World 2

This post was originally published on this site

It seems international superstar Dimitri Thivaios, better known as half of EDM giants Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, is moving on to the Silver Screen, as he has taken to Twitter to share a very intriguing photo that was taken yesterday.

The snap shows Dimitri with Hollywood legend Frank Marshall, producer of the upcoming Jurassic World sequel. And interestingly enough, Marshall himself even reposted the photo, leading fans to believe the two had more than a brief discussion and photo opp.

While nothing is 100% confirmed, outside sources say that the two were indeed meeting to discuss a potential role for Dimitri in the upcoming film. This would be the first major acting gig for Thivaios (though he did voice “Fred” in Big Hero Six for the Flemish translation), so for his sake we hope the speculation is true!

Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike have received a lot of negative attention throughout their rise to fame, and the electronic community certainly has mixed feelings about the duo. However, Dimitri could be the next big thing in Hollywood that we don’t know about, hidden away from the screen by an illustrious DJ career. Only time will tell if that is indeed the case, so for now, all we can do is wait.

The Chainsmokers Preview New “Paris” Remix On Snapchat

This post was originally published on this site

If it’s one thing The Chainsmokers do well (besides gets on the charts), it’s create songs that are perfect for remixes. Between “Closer” and “Don’t Let Me Down,” just for starters, there have been dozens of great remixes to come out.

Now, with their new hit “Paris,” they’re looking to add onto that with another remix pack that should be coming out soon. The two previewed at least one new “Paris” remix on Snapchat last night, though the first one sounds incredibly muddled through a phone speaker; we expect for it to be a lot clearer once the final product is delivered, obviously.

Check it out below (and get a grand look at Rory Kramer’s head at the end there).

Modestep’s Drummer Pat Lundy Covers Their New Track, “Living For The Weekend”

This post was originally published on this site

In case you missed it, Modestep just put out a new song with production from Zomboy called “Living For The Weekend.” Veering away from their London Road sound by a considerable amount, the track is a true party anthem.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a Modestep track without a live drum track on top, and Modestep’s live drummer Pat Lundy is kind enough to help out with that. Adding live drum fills in the empty portions of the song, and not to mention doubling down on the hard trap sections really gives the track new vitality.

Check it out below, and stream the track here.
