Igloofest makes its imprint on the international music festival scene with its signature, trademark characteristic—embracing the arctic climate known as Canadian winters. The Montréal-based festival has just announced its 2020 season lineup, amassing a proudly diverse selection of male and female artists to top each of the four weekends of its outdoor winter series.

For its upcoming 14th edition, Igloofest welcomes a new slate of headliners over each weekend, held from Jan. 16 – Feb. 8, 2020. The opening weekend kicks off performances from headliners THE BLAZE, ANNA, Reinier Zonneveld, and curated stage takeover from Anjunabeats—with a lineup to be announced. Over the remaining three weekends, the festival’s headliners include REZZ, Nina Kraviz, RÜFÜS DU SOL, ZEDS DEAD, and Charlotte De Witte to close out each chilly night of the series.

Among the headlining performances, Igloofest welcomes an abundance of varied local and international support from artists like i_o, VNSSA, Jeremy Olander, Honey Soundsystem, Robert Hood, and many others. Held in the charismatic grounds of the city’s Old Port, the festival will debut a redesigned layout to increase their capacity, filled with handfuls of activities, treats and vendors within the magical Igloovillage and increased heated IGLOOVIP areas.

It’s most important day of the week: New Music Friday. With the overwhelming amount of tunes hitting the airwaves today, Dancing Astronaut has you covered with the latest edition of The Hot 25.

In perhaps one of the biggest collaborations to hit the airwaves on Sept. 6, The Bloody Beetroots and ZHU have teamed up for “Zoning.” RÜFÜS DU SOL have dropped off a new set of remixes for Solace, including an irresistibly groovy one by Hot Since 82. Grimes and i_o unexpectedly deliver “Violence,” and M83 returns with the dreamy “Temple of Sorrow.” Audien and Nevve bring blissful energy to “Buzzing,” and Cashmere Cat reveals “FOR YOUR EYES ONLY.” Arty is on a journey to “Find You” in his latest, and Walker & Royce team up with VNSSA for “Rave Grave.” KOAN Sound’s new EP lands pm Sept. 6, featuring sounds like “Vibrant,” and Claude VonStroke unleashes a new original, “Slink.” Sullivan King has released a two-track EP, and Armin van Buuren and David Hodges link for “Waking Up With You.” Fox Stevenson finally uncovers “Dreamland,” and 3LAU remixes San Holo’s “Lost Lately.”

As each week brings a succession of new music from some of electronic music’s biggest artists, here’s a selection of tracks that shouldn’t be missed this NMF.

Prepare for the Dirtybird BBQ with a fierce new ‘Get Roasted’ compilationGetroasted Dirtybird

In preparation for the DIRTYBIRD‘s annual Dirtybird BBQ traveling concert series, the San Francisco and Los Angeles-based label always allows one of their many DJs to pick some selections from label-mates and give fans a quick tease of what to expect at the year’s events. This years compilation, titled Dirtybird BBQ: Get Roasted, features ten exclusive cuts from the label’s deep roster, all mixed together by DIRTYBIRD newcomer, VNSSA.

Featuring tracks from Codes, Holt 88, Emery Warman, Westend, and more, the compilation puts the spotlight on some of the label’s lesser known talent. However, this talent steps up to the plate, delivering some hot tunes for VNSSA to mix into a solid 45 minutes of grimey house beats.
