It’s time to live like you’re never gonna die.

It’s been 7 years since R3HAB rose to stardom and he continues to show no signs of slowing down. The multi-faceted producer has touched nearly every genre in his lengthy career and his latest finds him dabbling in psytrance with duo Vini Vici and vocalists Pangea & Dego. “Alive” may be a fusion of two styles that are world’s apart, but R3HAB’s craftsmanship has delivered a track that is dancefloor-friendly and summer-ready without isolating fans of either style. His own carefully crafted melodies and upbeat sound design is matched by the heavy hitting nature of Vini Vici’s psytrance style. Combine that with anthemic vocals and one hell of a catchy hook — it’s literally impossible to not whistle along — and you’ve got another certifiable anthem from the producer who built a career on turning main stages into pure mayhem.

Armin van Buuren releases full Tomorrowland set from A State of Trance stageTomorrowland Armin Van Buuren 2018

Armin van Buuren has shared his entire Tomorrowland weekend two set from this year’s set at the A State of Trance stage. Those who missed, or daydreamers trying to relive that day in festival history can now listen through the 43 tracks, in order, of which he played. Van Buuren opened with a dedication to his son, Remy, who turned five, before dropping into his new song with Vini Vici and Alok featuring Zafrir, “United.” Powering through, the trance legend hits songs produced by himself and close collaborators in the genre space such as W&W, Vini Vici, Gareth Emery, Dash Berlin, Conrad Sewell, Shapov, Josh Cumbee, Maor Levi, Mark Sixma, Super8 & Tab, STANDERWICK, Emma Hewitt, Ben Gold, and many more.

Van Buuren’s nearly two-hour set was one of three sets he played at one of the biggest festivals in the world. The other two sets took place on Tomorrowland’s infamous main stage. If four hours from the trance radio behemoth isn’t enough, he played a seven hour trance set at Untold Festival in Romania earlier this month and shared the full stream.

Armin van Buuren & Vini Vici bring Alok into the fold with ‘United’

Dance music icon Armin van Buuren linked up with Israeli DJ and production duo Vini Vici on what would later become an instant festival classic, “Great Spirit.”  This was in 2016. Now nearly two years later, the team has connected again, this time with an artist who has come to prominence since their first collaboration together: Alok.

“United” has an impressive rolling cadence, calling us to attention as we listen through the energetic track. Clearly intended to follow in the footsteps of their last hit, “United” is primed for festival play. But it’s been done in a contemporary way, acknowledging the rise in higher BPM styles in both hard dance, which saw its first main stage set at this year’s Tomorrowland, and even van Buuren’s home in trance music. In the end, the track becomes more widely appealing with this faster beat that conveys an energy that some synths can’t achieve. Featuring the vocals of Zafrir in its fist pump-inducing chanting, “United” has legs to last through the rest of the season.
