Radiohead is gearing up for the 20th Anniversary re-issue of their seminal third studio album OK Computer, and with some tantalizingly enigmatic easter eggs left by the band leading up to the milestone, naturally, the fans are curious as to what Radiohead has in store. After doing some digging, one eagle-eyed reddit user discovered plans for a new single on the already critically acclaimed album. The track, titled “I Promise,” is an unreleased single that Radiohead has been performing live since 1996. Available for streaming on June 2, it will be the only single preceding the release. The deluxe re-issue, OKNOTOK, will be in stores and online June 23.
Social media is buzzing right now as it seems Derek Vincent Smith, better known by his stage name Pretty Lights has caused his fans to absolutely break the internet with a combination of excitement, disbelief, and gratitude. Two days ago, Smith and his team masterminded one of the best fan outreach initiatives that the electronic dance music
This past weekend Jauz returned to his old stomping grounds of San Fransisco, CA for the second date in his highly-anticipated Off the Deep End tour, his first headlining tour since he broke out into the electronic dance music spotlight in 2014. This past weekend’s sold-out event was hosted at the legendary Bill Graham Civic Auditorium and was arguably the 23 year old producer’s biggest show to date. But before Jauz could reveal himself from behind a giant curtain, the night was kicked off with riveting sets by Goshfather, Ghastly, and Slushii and was topped off with live performances from popular Bay-area rappers, Too $hort and E40.
The Bay Area native spun an assortment of genres, seemingly catering to the different tastes and preferences of his hometown crowd. From gritty Dubstep, to old school hip-hop, to signature bass house and never-before-heard mash-ups, the massive crowd shook the venue’s walls in their excitement. Fan-favorite mashups included Blink 182’s ‘Down’ into Swedish House Mafia’s ‘Save the World,’ and Linkin Park’s ‘Numb’ into Jauz’s signature bass-house selections.
He even revealed some new unreleased tracks to the crowd including this ID — a high-energy bass house banger with a marimba lead and some ethnic tribal flare.
The tour will be making eleven more stops all across the country from now until March, including major cities like Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Denver, NYC, and Atlanta .
Hot off the release of his new single “Scared To Be Lonely,” Martin Garrix went live on Instagram for the first time to celebrate. In doing so, he interacted with fans and got everyone hyped for new music in 2017. He even gave fans a first listen to a new track he’s been working on.
Garrix himself acknowledges that it sounds a bit like “Tremor,” but that it’s really just a first draft. He also said that it has a drop right now, but he’s not happy with it. The build has his classic melodic chord progression that we’ve come to know so well.
Thanks to @worldofmartingarrix for capturing this!
Drenched in style and bursting with emotion, this new ID from Illenium is nothing less than stunning. Debuted at Snowglobe New Year’s Eve 2016, this track manages to encompass both euphoria and sadness, eliciting pangs of both heartbreak and elation to make even the most stoic of listeners loose a tear.
Though the quality of the audio leaves us wanting more, we can hear a gorgeous vocal performance give way to a gut-wrenching melody that’s powerfully simple, all tied up neatly in Illenium’s trademark style. We’ve no name for this unreleased gem, but rest assured, it’s going to be a brilliant release.
With the new year well under way, TheChainsmokers have begun an epic schedule of song teasers, having played out and featured clips of two highly anticipated IDs in their live sets and on social media. During their NYE weekend set at LACC, the duo dropped “Paris,” an alleged, upcoming collaboration with French vocalist Louane.
Featuring soaring vocal work and an unmistakably bouncy Chainsmokers beat, the track has since been referred to as a possible precursor to an eventual album.
The second track, still classified as a full ID, was featured this Friday on the official aftermovie of Jingle Ball’s 2016 installment. Despite not having the full track at our disposal, the lyrics “The day I met you” appear in both the new preview and The Chainsmokers’ “Closer” with Halsey. It is because of this similarity that fans have regarded the new song as a potential sequel to the smash hit.
Check out the new ID at 2:13 in the video below, and scroll further to check out The Chainsmokers playing out part of their upcoming “Paris” track.
One of the youngest faces to take over EDM, Martin Garrix hit the ground running at the tender age of 17 and now 4 years later is continuing to deliver timeless singles. The still very young producer/DJ from the Netherlands took the world by storm when his hit single “Animals” shot to the top of
Even having fairly recently released seven brand new songs during Amsterdam Dance Event in October, Martin Garrix is perpetually creating and teasing new music. This latest release was revealed to fans at the AVA NYE 2017 festival in Yangon, Myanmar.
Tentatively titled “Scared To Be Lonely” and believed to contain vocals from English singer Dua Lipa, the track follows Martin’s latest trend of more future-leaning music, as opposed to something more in the house or progressive realm.
Earlier this month, TheChainsmokers revealed two Snapchat video previews of an upcoming single entitled “Paris,” which they proceeded to play out in full at a live show this week. One of the questions circulating the duo’s massive fan base ever since the track was first teased, however, was who the female vocalist could be. Rumors sprang up pointing to Selena Gomez as the culprit, but an August tweet from The Chainsmokers themselves suggests someone entirely unexpected.
On August 31, The Chainsmokers tagged French singer Louane in a post mentioning that they “can’t wait to wrap this up.” Supposedly referring to a collaborative track between the two, it would make sense that Louane’s song is actually the unreleased “Paris” single that is beginning to seep out into The Chainsmokers’ social media accounts and live shows.
Hot damn @louane this is some can’t wait to wrap this up
It’s that time of year again, when end-of-year mixes proliferate and we start to look toward the next year for hits. One of the biggest hit makers in EDM, Spinnin’ Records, just exclusively premiered their 2017 Future Hits mix and it’s chocked full of IDs that would make your mouth water.
There are still plenty of tracks that have either been announced or released in the mix, and many that aren’t even from Spinnin’, but the vast majority is unreleased and unannounced, so you’d better keep a sharp ear on the mix and pick out your favorites.
