Eric Prydz to release final version of the massive Pryda track ‘Stay With Me’ on November 20

Earlier this month, one of dance music’s champions, the venerable Eric Prydz, debuted his new alias, Tonja Holma, on Pryda Recordings.

In the four-track offering, Prydz takes a deep dive into his immensely impressive new take on progressive house. Much more minimalistic in its approach, the new alias begs its listeners to expect the unexpected. And although Tonja Holma has already made several appearances on Prydz’ Essential Mixes, it’s a thrilling venture to see out to fruition, nonetheless.

Now, Prydz’ has announced his “Stay With Me” Pryda tune —largely known by fans as the “Psytrance ID” — will see its official, final mastering’s release on November 20.

Most recently, the track saw out an inaugural slot on Prydz’ November 9 Epic Radio show via Beats 1, although, it has previously seen the light of day on Above & Beyond’s Group Therapy, and even garnered itself plentiful YouTube rips.

Despite headline-grabbing releases and sold-out headlining appearances, Eric Prydz remains rather reclusive. It’s his deep dedication to craft that leaves the Swedish house juggernaut in the highly enviable position of appealing to both dance music’s underground purists and the main-stage masses alike.

On Nov. 13, Eric Prydz debuted the first-ever EP under his Tonja Holma alias on his newly minted Pryda Presents label. The four-track project broadens Prydz’s diverse, progressive exploration of the house music spectrum and introduces fans to another fresh sonic perspective that is as minimalistic as it is monumentally forward-thinking in terms of its sound design.

The new alias has made unreleased appearances on several Prydz Essential Mixes over the years, with the track “Loco” dating back to his 2007 mix, and “Spanish Delight” featured in his 2013 Essential Mix of the Year.

Eric Prydz Teases Revival of Alter Ego

It’s becoming a more common occurrence that producers and DJs are releasing new projects under pseudonyms. New names create some space from their already established brand that may be known for one genre of music. One name that’s not new, however, is Eric Prydz. Nor are two of his aliases: Pryda and Cirez D. Although,

On Friday, June 16, Eric Prydz put out a new episode of his EPIC Radio series just ahead of an extended performance in Spain. Following the broadcast, the Swedish DJ performed a set at Barcelona’s esteemed Sónar Festival; tonight, June 20, he will begin his summer residency at Hï Ibiza, the club which now occupies the legendary Space’s former location.

Late in May, Prydz gave his followers a sense of his magnanimous EPIC 5.0 performance through his mix series, but for its newest edition, he showcases a selection more akin to one what might find in one of his club sets. The newest episode of EPIC Radio is filled with unreleased and unidentified progressive and techno, much of which is from himself or his labels.

Notably, Prydz also plays “Trippleton,” revealing that the track will be his first release under the Tonja Holma alias for Pryda Presents before moving into cerebral, formidably haunting new Cirez D music and an unreleased remix as himself for Sébastien Léger.

Eric Prydz catalyzed one of the most fervent periods of anticipation for a concert ever when he announced the premiere of EPIC 5.0 in November of last year. And, given the Swedish icon’s intentions to set the audiovisual bar higher than he did with his unprecedented EPIC 4.0 performance, its easy to see why he engendered such fervor.

Last Saturday, May 27, Prydz finally answered fans’ questions as to how he would raise his own staggeringly high bar when he debuted  the newest iteration of his Eric Prydz In Concert series at Creamfields’ Steel Yard in London. The artist’s legions of followers who were not in attendance have gotten a taste for the visual proponent of his show through the numerous pictures and videos depicting the updated stage production – replete with the “biggest holograms in the world.”

Yesterday, June 2, Prydz introduced his global audience to the soundtrack of his experience, broadcasting the entire debut performance via his EPIC Radio show on Beats 1. Over the course of the two-hour auditory journey Prydz balanced his primary personae evenly, dedicating roughly half of his performance to his Pryda and Cirez D alter-egos, and further giving a nod to his Tonja Holma alias.

Unreleased and unidentified tracks, of course, abound as well throughout the set. So, too, do Prydz’s self-edits and remixes, including his darker remix of the transcendental “Liberate,” the Pryda remix of Cirez D’s “On Off,” and an emotional, cosmic EPIC edit of his elegiac “Lillo.”

Yes, we all know Mr. Prydz as the man with three names. Eric Prydz, Pryda, and Cirez D are all the same person. That is more or less common knowledge in the dance music world. That being said Eric Prydz has a few more aliases that are not as familiar as his top three. Tonja

Eric Prydz will release his first official song as Tonja Holma on his new record label

This Saturday, May 27, Eric Prydz will debut his heralded EPIC 5.0 live performance, a development which his legions of devotees have fervently awaited since its announcement in November 2016. This past weekend, the Swedish savant honored the forthcoming event with the reprise of his EPIC Radio mix series for Beats 1. Throughout the progressive-leaning episode, Prydz premiered several new tracks – including the first on-air play of the Pryda remix for his Cirez D classic, “On Off.” Among the additional new music debuted on the program was “Feel,” from Jeremy Olander protégé Cristoph.

Today, May 24, Eric Prydz has revealed that the progressive prodigy’s track will become the first release on his new imprint, “Pryda Presents.” Though the announcement does not stipulate an intended release date for the single, it does include a particularly scintillating secondary piece of information regarding one of the iconic producer’s many aliases.

Though most think of Eric Prydz’s production characters as a trinity – his own name, Pryda, and Cirez D – the producer has a bank of more covert pseudonyms which are oft forgotten. One such alter-ego is Tonja Holma, who Prydz has announced will mark the second release on Pryda Presents.

Though Prydz has included selections from the rarely occurring alias in many of his mixes over the past several years, the forthcoming output will mark the first official release that the artist has ever provided as Tonja Holma. In preparation for the momentous label debut of the project, we’ve compiled three tracks credited to Tonja Holma in various mixes.
