This post was originally published on this site

If you’ve ever spoken about seeing a band to someone who suddenly lapses into a misty-eyed reverie or is overcome with fidgety bragging, chances are they were talking about seeing Canadian pop heroes The New Pornographers. And who wouldn’t? EVERYONE who has witnessed the NP bizness live holds fond memories close to their hearts and will do so to the grave. Anyone who hasn’t seen the band live will soon get a chance because a slew of North American dates have been announced!

The American trek begins in Woodstock, NY on September 19 but the collective (“cohesive?”) will play one show before up North, in Toronto on August 17, as part of the Toronto Raptors historic NBA title celebration Danforth Music Hall’s 100th Anniversary series of concerts (tickets go on sale Friday, June 28). For most of the US dates listed below, the fabulous Lady Lamb will be the opening act (if you needed any additional incentive to get tickets).

Go to the band’s website for ticket info…like RIGHT NOW, as most shows have pre-sales already underway. Don’t forget to pack some tissues and “the eye doctor”.
