KSHMR Teases New ID At Sunburn Festival

This post was originally published on this site

Hot off his release “Mandala” as the official anthem for Goa’s Sunburn Festival, KSHMR was once again present at the flagship festival of his ancestral home country where he took the time to release a new vicious ID.

Coming in fairly on in his set around 15:40 following a wonderfully cinematic Game of Thrones intro score (with even the visuals to match), the new ID was mixed alongside “HU HA” by MR.BLACK and WAO resulting in an absolutely smashing new tune. As always, the percussion is absolutely on point with some aggressive drum kicks while you can make out KSHMR’s distinctive melodies. Once again, KSHMR’s delivered on another huge big room festival anthem and hopefully we’ll soon learn more about the record.

Sunburn Seeks To Get Money Back From Goa After Having To Relocate

This post was originally published on this site

Earlier this month, it was reported that the popular music festival Sunburn, held in Goa, India, was being forced to relocate. The news came as Sunburn’s license to put on the festival in Goa was being held for ransom due to money owed to Goa’s government for hired security for the event. Supersonic music festival was also relocated due to the government enacting new policies that only allowed one “mega-event” in the state due to the high volume of tourists. However, it has recently been reported that it is in fact Goa who owes Sunburn money.

When the licenses were originally being held for ransom, it was reported that Sunburn owed approximately $161,000 for security hired for the event. However, it is now being reported that Goa owes Percept Ltd, the production company behind Sunburn, close to $1 million.

The CEO of Sunburn made a statement on the dispute, claiming that “Percept has been persistent in its efforts to recover dues totalling to over Rs 6 crore from the Government of since five years. This includes recoverable deposits of Rs 1.25 crore towards Sunburn, Rs 3.03 crore for Lusifonia Games, Rs 50 lakhs for Windsong Music Festival and Rs 51 lakhs Entertainment Tax refund for the year 2014 and 2015.” [sic]

Goa’s government made a counter statement however, stating, “I am telling you, it (Rs 6 crore in dues) is totally wrong. If government owes them money, they would not have waited, they would have gone to court.”

While this mess continues, all we can hope for is that Sunburn has found a new home that will allow the festival to continue on December 28th – 31st.

Goa’s Sunburn Festival Application Is Being Held For ‘Ransom’

This post was originally published on this site

The famous Sunburn Festival in Goa, India, may still have a chance to hold this year’s event, but their event application is being held until they pay up on their security dues.

The Goa government has reminded the event’s organizers that they owe police 1.75 crore rupees (10.75 million) for security cover, which equates to around $161,000. Scheduled to take place from December 28th through the 31st, Sunburn is going all out for its 10th anniversary, but as the clock ticks down, this debt might start becoming more problematic

Goa’s Minister for Tourism has said that Sunburn’s event application to the Single Window Clearance Committee is still pending, and has not been rejected. The event’s massive draw for tourists is something Goan officials don’t want to throw away, but it seems they’re holding the application’s approval in a sort of ransom until the security dues are paid.
