The New Year’s Eve festival is a pretty recent creation in the world of dance music. For decades, one night events held on December 31 represented the only option for fans who wanted to dance their way into the new year. Now in 2018, EDM fans are overwhelmed by the litany of options available to

Scott Hansen’s released his Tycho DJ set from last year’s SnowGlobe festival in Lake Tahoe. The mix is a dynamic instrumental odyssey exploring Tycho’s two sonic universes: both lesser-known cuts and his own work. For an hour and a half, Hansen entwines the aforementioned realms with stand-out cuts like Bibio’s “lover’s carvings” remixed by Bruno Be & Eddie, Ikopol’s “Dauwd,” Tycho’s own “L,” and many more.
Though Hansen’s hinted that the new Tycho album may be complete, most recently on Facebook, it remains entirely unclear when the new album will arrive.
With California’s SnowGlobe Festival only a month away, excitement is growing for the iconic South Lake Tahoe New Year’s Eve celebration. The state’s own groovy house duo Oliver are warming up the airwaves with a special “SnowTape” to drum up excitement for the festival. The hour-long mix includes a wide range of Oliver’s funky, disco-inspired tunes like their recent remix of Tove Lo‘s “Disco Tits,” along with some wavy ’80s IDs they have yet to release. Throughout its 59 minutes, the mix is a soulful slice of house and disco heaven sure to thrill music lovers of all persuasions.
After the quick rise and fall of 2017’s festival season, it’s not uncommon to see festival fiends pre-planning their schedule for 2018. Fortunately for those zealots, many companies have taken advantage of this opportune moment and found a way to create experiences unlike any summer events. Most recently, SnowGlobe Festival has blown fans away with the release of their 2017 lineup, a well-received mixture of the most popular names in dance music.

Immersed not only in the variety of acts at the event, the three-day outdoor event gives attendees the opportunity to enjoy the leftover spirit of Christmas, and ring in the New Year surrounded by thousands of others in the SnowGlobe family.
One of the year’s best lineups has just been announced. Taking place in the chilly South Lake Tahoe, Snowglobe is ready for the 2017 year with artists ranging from Dillon Francis, Porter Robinson, Travis Scott, Zedd, Khalid, Tycho, E-40, Madeon, Alison Wonderland, Snakehips, Gryffin, Lane 8, Petit Biscuit, K?D, Oliver, Graves, DROELOE, Oliver Tree and
Sometimes you will watch a video and just get chills or goosebumps. It just connects with you on a level so deep that it creates neurotransmitters in your brain that literally make your senses yell ‘YES – MORE’. This is one of those videos. We were at SnowGlobe during this performance and hands down it
Drenched in style and bursting with emotion, this new ID from Illenium is nothing less than stunning. Debuted at Snowglobe New Year’s Eve 2016, this track manages to encompass both euphoria and sadness, eliciting pangs of both heartbreak and elation to make even the most stoic of listeners loose a tear.
Though the quality of the audio leaves us wanting more, we can hear a gorgeous vocal performance give way to a gut-wrenching melody that’s powerfully simple, all tied up neatly in Illenium’s trademark style. We’ve no name for this unreleased gem, but rest assured, it’s going to be a brilliant release.
