Snails‘s SLIMEAGEDDON EP is here, with its arrival just as viscous as the sagely chosen title intends.

The seven-track mass of swampy tracks saw release off the Canadian dubstep DJ/producer’s newly minted Slugz Music. Prior to the EP release, the “Slug King” slowly seeped out a foreboding foray of offerings from the project, including “Follow Me,” with Adventure Club featuring Sara Diamond, “Snailephant” with Wooli, “Redline” with Boogie T, and “Magnets” with Zeds Dead featuring Akylla.

“RAVN,” “Crank Bass,” featuring Liam Cormier, and “Bonkers” featuring Sirah are the newly released tracks off the project, all of which carry Snail’s signature cutthroat bass format and mayhem persona. “RAVN” has more of a cinematic appeal, acting as the opening segment to what is undoubtedly a well-curated project amongst friends.

The EP’s rollout comes soon after the unveiling of Snails’s original comic book, THE SLUGGERNAUT, a culmination of the music producer’s persistent use of vivid visuals and unique character fantasy. His website describes the comic book as “SLIMEAGEDDON, King Slugz, SLUGGTOPIA, and The Shell are all part of a bigger vision — one that hasn’t been fully explained…until now.”

Snails‘ visuals are transcending the live show circuit to move into print form. A meticulously developed visual component has always been central to a live Snails performance, but the producer now extends the thoughtful nature of his visuals to a brand new comic concept, The Shell. Snails just recently released the first volume of the comic, THE SLUGGERNAUT. The Shell will presumably grow into a multi-volume series over time.

“SLIMEAGEDDON, King Slugz, SLUGGTOPIA, and The Shell are all part of a bigger vision — one that hasn’t been fully explained…until now,” reads THE SLUGGERNAUT‘s official website. Snails fans can delve into the fictional narrative of THE SLUGGERNAUT with an exclusive first-look at the introductory 10 pages of the first installment of the series, now accessible here. Those who would like to secure their very own copy of volume one can pre-order THE SLUGGERNAUT here. The first volume will make its full-fledged debut on November 26.

Snails crossbreeds with Wooli to create ‘Snailephant,’ and announces a new EP ‘Slimeageddon’ coming soon off Slugz Music

Snails crossbreeds with Wooli to create ‘Snailephant,’ and announces a new EP ‘Slimeageddon’ coming soon off Slugz MusicSnails Wooli

Snails and Wooli have come together to cause a reckoning by bass music that combines sludge infested synths with mammoth-esque rhythms. Feeling like it came straight from a TV laboratory, the final product of collaboration comes out to be a “Snailephant” — a mixing and melding of the two heavy bass producer’s wildly animalistic dubstep styles.

The buildup contains a Mortal Kombat vocal sample describing the audio beast as “half snail, half elephant, taking over the galaxy one by one.” Insanity ensues after that, with war-like, distorted sub-bass that sounds oozing out of the speakers in a dominating way. Snails also announced his new EP Slimeageddon is coming soon off his label Slugz Music. There’s no exact date, it’s simply coming out soon. After recent releases with Boogie T, “Redline” and Zeds Dead, “Magnets,” fans are ready for an extended play filled with the gooey sounds that made Frédérik Durand so popular in the first place.
