When it comes to fusing the two worlds of dance and pop music, Diplo and Mark Ronson know what’s best.

Each of their Silk City releases has built on its sultry songstress choice and rhythmic house structures with ample anticipation— see “Feel About You” for a noteworthy example. What’s more is that all of the tracks remind their listener of just how powerful the widespread accessibility and proliferation of dance music has become. With “Electricity,” the two have surmounted every one of their electrifying releases and massively multiplied its amps. Of course, the energy of the track wouldn’t be possible without the ever-rising superstar Dua Lipa‘s backing vocals. With its healthy house cords and Lipa’s vocal refrains, the three have created the amicable pop-dance crossover. It’s a track that’s poised for radio and streaming services domination alike and harkens back to the days of Diplo’s 2014 LP title — Random White Dude Be Everywhere — considering it’s a track that’ll soon be virtually inescapable.

In the track’s music video, as Diplo and Ronson are ascending in the elevator to Lipa’s loft apartment, the viewer gets the literal sense that Lipa’s lighting the way for the collaboration. The elevator’s not working and suddenly, as soon as Lipa’s vocals are heard from within, it cuts to her making her way across the loft apartment again. Diplo and Ronson are no strangers to embracing collaboration, and with “Electricity,” it seems they created the perfect song for the modern musical zeitgeist.

Dua Lipa‘s feature on the ’90s house homage “One Kiss” back in April with Calvin Harris was an apt brush with the danceable potential of the singer-songwriter’s vocal talent. Since the world was introduced to Silk City with “Only Can Getter Better,” back in May, a collaboration between Lipa and the Mark Ronson/Diplo duo seemed inevitable. Earlier this year, Lipa announced that it was coming, and now, she’s shared a few more details on the track, hinting on Twitter the track will arrive on September 6.

Lipa also revealed in a series of tweets, with the electricity emoji that possibly alludes to the track’s title, that the track will be arriving with a video.

Recently, Lipa spoke on the song with Rolling Stone, revealing, “It’s something different, but it does lead into some of new music that I’m going to bring in my albums. It’s got some throwback elements to it; it’s dancey; it’s still a pop song.” It still remains unknown as to whether the new track will be the lead single of Lipa’s next album.

Dua Lipa paused the production of her second album to speak with Rolling Stone about what is sure to be an album standout: a collaboration with Diplo and Mark Ronson crafted under the duo’s Silk City alias.

“It’s something different, but it does lead into some of the new music that I’m going to bring in my albums,” Dua Lipa said of the joint project, “It’s got some throwback elements to it, it’s dance-y, it’s still a pop song.”

An official music video will accompany the song’s impending release. Dua Lipa did not indicate whether the Silk City/Dua Lipa matchup would be released as a lead single ahead of the album’s arrival.

Silk City wasn’t lying with the release of the group’s debut single, “It Can Only Get Better.” It could only appreciate from there, and unsurprisingly, on the heels of an already delightful summery tune, it has.

The delectable duo’s done the lord’s work on their new single “Feel About You,” tapping early Major Lazer affiliate and sultry songstress Mapei for the collaboration, allowing her bellowing vocal work take the lead. Diplo and Mark Ronson are absolute professionals on the new joint effort, dropping off an easy-listening hit that’s poised for radio domination. As strange of a pairing as Silk City may have seemed, each new product from the two super producers suggests the collaboration was definitely meant to be. Believe it or not, the boys have another new mega collaboration on the way. Florence Welch and Dua Lipa are both confirmed to have worked on the single, so really, it’s looking like things may, somehow, get even better from here. Of course there are no complaints, Silk City are the summer gift that keeps on giving.
