It’s most important day of the week: New Music Friday. With the overwhelming amount of tunes hitting the airwaves today, Dancing Astronaut has you covered with the latest edition of The Hot 25.

It’s been more than five years since the music world has seen new music from Skrillex and Boys Noize‘s supergroup, Dog Blood, but that wait is finally over with “Turn Off The Lights.” Dillon Francis joins forces with lovelytheband for a, well, lovely collaboration called “Change Your Mind.” Armin van Buuren, Lucas & Steve, and Josh Cumbee deliver a feel-good number by the name of “Don’t Give Up On Me,” and Nicky Romero, DallasK, and XYLØ create a contemplative, low-key collaboration, “Sometimes.” Whethan and Bearson have crafted an effortlessly groovy “Win You Over” with SOAK, and Seven Lions and Kill The Noise take things up a notch with the formidable “The Blood.” Bassnectar reveals his Reflective Part Four EP is on its way with “Illusion,” and Kove keeps his brand of drum & bass subtle and smooth with “Echoes.” Jai Wolf and Dresage come together in “Better Apart,” and NGHTMRE and A$AP Ferg make a powerful pair in “REDLIGHT.” Sam Feldt brings summer a few months early with “One Day” with ROZES and Yves V, and Zomboy brings “The Beast” with his new single. The Chainsmokers prep for their new album with “Kills You Slowly,” and Mielo releases his Anywhere But Here EP, featuring a closing song of the same title.

As each week brings a succession of new music from some of electronic music’s biggest artists, here’s a selection of tracks that shouldn’t be missed this NMF.

There’s a new duo in town. LA-based BRKLYN continues to become a strong force heading into 2019. Cameron Alexander and Cody Nadeau kicked off the year with a remix of “Everybody Hates Me” from The Chainsmokers Sick Boy project, garnering enough traction for a Sirius XM Cookout Mix on Diplo’s Revolution. From there, it was all about increasing creativity, leading toward a 5-track debut EP released on Tritonal‘s Enhanced Music imprint. With their first full body of work, BRKLYN earned a spot on Dancing Astronaut‘s Radar mix series.

The mix will lift some spirits and bring back nostalgic memories, thanks to BRKLYN’s seamless mashing of historic dance tracks with hits of present day styles. Kicking off with their EP’s first official single “Good Vibe” featuring label-mate Zack Martino, the mix quickly descends into Weezer’s “Say It Ain’t So” dropped into Kaskade. Other highlights include a heartfelt Avicii feature on “Silhouettes” mashed with Martin Garrix‘s recently released “Yottabyte,” and an early Chainsmokers vocal from ROZES layered perfectly over Porter Robinson‘s “Divinity.” The duo also includes some new tracks from the EP, including a collaboration with Disco Fries on “Brightside.”

BRKLYN’s Things I’ve Learned EP is out now and they’ll provide direct support for Audien at Academy LA and Metropolitan in New Orleans NYE weekend.

This isn’t the first time StayLoose and Rozes have put their talents together to create a magical and uplifting piece of work. Their first collaboration came as a StayLoose remix for one of Rozes’ first songs, “R U Mine,” back in 2015. The track garnered millions of plays and brought the spotlight to both of them, which would ultimately lead to another collaboration, and this time in the form of “Mean To Me,” via Dim Mak Records.

“Mean To Me,” shines with StayLoose’s masterful production in the form of gripping bass and powerful retro synths and percussion, as Rozes sprinkles her sultry voice up and down the track. The pop-leaning song bubbles with energy and delivers on the sound listeners have come to expect from both artists.

“I met the very talented Rozes back in 2015 when I remixed her song R U Mine,” StayLoose says of the track. “A few months later we began playing around with the ideas for Mean To Me. It’s been a long time coming to release this one and I think it shows that great songs stand the test of time.”
