Pastry hurling international dance icon Steve Aoki has decided to temporarily halt the on-stage cake throwing gimmick and pick up the dough roller. The 40-year superstar DJ/producer has just announced the opening of Pizzaoki in his hometown of Los Angeles. As the son of Benihana’s founder, who once told Yahoo Finance he has never received a penny from his father, the inventively named new restaurant seems like a fitting next move for the entrepreneurial mogul.
A themed restaurant in it’s conception, much like the theatrical Japanese chain started by his late father, Aoki says that customers will be able to enjoy quality pizza recipes named after his hit songs — for instance, a classic cheese dubbed “Just Hold On” or the “Mayhem,” a supreme with all the toppings. The new concept also relies heavily on technology for delivery, as Pizzaoki currently lacks a brick and mortar location. Customers can currently place orders through Postmates and Uber Eats.
Things have been known to get weird at Holy Ship! events. The ship set sail just two days ago, and reports of oddities have already made it back to land.
Norwegian Cruise Line, the company that operates the ships used for the maritime festival, issued a statement about their open pizza bar that’s anything but normal. Previous incidents have apparently led the company to announce that their pizza bar is for eating, not fornicating.
“We feel it is our duty to remind our guests that pizza is for eating, not fornicating,” the message reads. “Sexual acts with our handcrafted pizza can bring unintended health consequences and can pose a safety hazard for other passengers aboard our journey.”
Fans of Chance The Rapper have long awaited his first real entrance into acting, by way of a much-discussed pizza murder mystery now known as Slice. The project was directed by Austin Vesely, who had previously worked with Chance on the “Sunday Candy” music video. Now the Chicago emcee is serving up the first trailer for the upcoming film. The trailer for Slice comes as a rendition of a viral video currently making rounds, “Line Rider – Mountain King” scored by Edvard Grieg’s “In The Hall Of The Mountain King” wherein a scooter-sporting stick figure man navigates an insanely intricate sonic doodle thrill ride.
Quick frames from the film appear in the trailer, giving little away concerning any sort of plot or narrative details, though pointing to a project that’s likely to be somewhere between spooky and perhaps a little cheesy. However, albeit short and vague, the sneak peek trailer reveals some endearing “Thriller” callbacks in the new Chance-starring feature, expected the land early next year.
Over the past 4-years or so, Martin Garrix has completely taken over the EDM game. You can argue it, but I’m holding firm to that statement. The dude cannot be stopped. Guy has a track with Ed Sheeran that he dropped at Ultra Miami a few years back. He still hasn’t officially dropped it. You

Pizza Hut just upped the ante on pizza deliver as we know it. No longer will simply pizza pie and soda pop suffice — Pizza Hut is ushering in a new era of pizza parties with the world’s first playable pizza box DJ decks. In a similar move to McDonald’s MIDI controller placemats, Pizza Hut has designed a new battery-powered pizza box for DJs that syncs to users’ phones or computers via bluetooth, and can connect with any MIDI-compatible DJ software.
The pizza box of the future comes equipped with two decks, pitch and volume controls, a crossfader, and even a synch button, as beat-matching with a belly full of pizza and greasy fingers is the kind of finesse that is usually best left to the pros. The global pizza franchise is rolling out the new DJ gear at select locations in the UK with the purchase of a collection pizza with further release details to be made public soon.
