High fashion meets club-ready electronic dance music on Alisa Ueno and Edward Vigiletti’s head-turning new team up, “Is That It.” Ueno, head of Tokyo-based fashion imprint Fig & Viper has enlisted the help of Vigiletti and superstar Australian DJ duo NERVO for a new club-ready setlist weapon that’s bound for heavy rotations on the international DJ circuit. Bouncy, textured electro chords matched with a looping hook give the new collaboration equal parts undoubtable club flair and pop-leaning sensibility.
Fans might recognize Ueno’s credentials alongside EDM power duo Sofi Tukker on “Best Friend,” which makes her latest original work, “Is That It,” an obvious extension of the emerging producer’s sound. Meanwhile, Edward Vigiletti is fresh off of the release of his debut five track EP Xsc8pism. The new electro belter is in place to elevate both parties presence on the club circuit, and with some added star power from NERVO and an aesthetically pleasing new music video to boot, “Is That It” is a worthy late-summer addition to pregame playlists.

We posted a few months back covering some of the announced headliners for Ushuaïa knowing that we would most certainly be back to report additional powerhouses to support said headliners. There’s nothing better than a good friend, someone that builds you up to be a better person and someone that you can trust. That being said, friendship can oftentimes be a pretty complicated thing. Some friends will lie, let you down, and gossip behind your back, while a good friend will help you get through
Featuring NERVO, The Knocks, and Alisa Ueno, Sofi Tukker produced the hit single, “Best Friend” last year, which features melodic instrumentation of saxophone, bass guitar, and intriguing percussion. Oliver Heldens has put his own spin on the slow-burning track, taking the piece to new, exhilarating heights. With a revved-up tempo, harmonic builds of colorful notes, and the bruising, distinct Heldens signature sound, “Best Friend” receives a glamorous deep house makeover from the Dutch producer.
His remix of “Best Friend” marks his second production of the new year, as Heldens’ previous collaboration with Dada Life, “Live Vibrations,” was dropped earlier in January. Heldens has been grinding out new music over the past several months, and with a ton of rumored unreleased music on the horizon, we are eagerly waiting for what he has in store for this year.
I will start this review off by saying that it is no secret that I freaking love Oliver Heldens. While at first his signature sound did not resonate with I have grown incredibly fond over time. In fact I can easily say that his set during Electric Forest Weekend 1 in 2017 was one of
Everyone seems to want a piece of the electronic music scene these days, and Disney certainly isn’t excluded. Last year, Disneyland Paris hosted its first ever electronic music festival called Electroland in celebration of the park’s 25th birthday. Although its quarter of a century birthday celebrations are over, the park has chosen to continue with the festival after a successful first event.
The 2017 rendition of Electroland featured Steve Aoki and Nervo as headliners, and Disneyland Paris just announced the 2018 lineup and details. This year, Disneyland Paris is bringing on Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Afrojack, and Robin Schulz as headliners in addition to Bob Sinclair and Klingande playing the open air festival. The Hollywood Tower Hotel will be outfitted with state of the art lights, screens, and special effects to match the DJs’ performances.
Fans can mark their calendars for June 29th and 30th, which are the official dates for the 2018 version of the Disneyland Paris event.
As the countdown to festival season continues, Tomorrowland has been gradually releasing the names that will grace the stages of one of the world’s most celebrated festivals. Along with the January announcements that brought on artists like Alesso, Alison Wonderland, Prydz, the Belgian festival has announced the addition of nearly 20 more artists to kick off February.
With the success of track and their busy touring schedules, Avila and NERVO have visited numerous countries, experienced tons of new cultures and thus, had the chance to share special moments with people from all corners of the globe. Most of these encounters are positive ones, but the artists were also often reminded that not everybody they meet is in a position to enjoy life as freely as others.
To help those in need of aid in areas affected by natural disasters, conflict, epidemics or exclusion from health care, the artists have teamed up to raise money for Doctors Without Borders, the charity dedicated to providing vital support and relief to those affected by these issues worldwide.
For donations of 100–1000€, Danny and NERVO will be giving away special tiered rewards like show tickets, V-MODA branded headphones, backstage passes, and a meet & greet + photo session with the artists.
The fundraiser ends January 31, 2018. Donate here.
Grammy-nominated duo Sofi Tukker has returned with a new remix for their most recent collaboration, “Best Friend,” featuring Nervo, The Knocks and Alisa Ueno. The NYC-based producers, who experienced a career breakthrough with their 2016 album, Soft Animals, are currently supporting ODESZA on their “A Moment Apart” tour and had the original track featured on an iPhone X commercial. Now, they’ve created some new material for their opening sets as well as dance clubs around the globe.
Maintaining the high energy of the original, Sofi Tukker packs on some deep synths, conga samples and a more rapid bass-line, giving the track a dance-y, house music feel. It clearly resembles the type of music heard during Brazil’s annual Carnival party, hence the “Carnaval Remix.”
