Mr. Carmack confirms album for November releaseMr Carmack

Mr. Carmack continues his prolific 2019 bout, confirming on Instagram he’s releasing a new album in November. After two EP releases this year, Demolish and Rebuild, the Hawaiian beat maker announced the release of his first full-length since 2014’s Dimebag. The album is called Viista, and the announcement caption on Instagram read,”Album out in November – 5+ years of work – these are the 11 songs that drove me to tears writing them – self mixed self mastered.” Judging from his previous two experimental projects this year, these words from the esteemed producer carry weight and the forward-thinking sound design should take full-flight on this long play.

Last year, he posted a tracklist, indicating that he was working on his new album. Now, that album is coming to light. Mr. Carmack is set for his 10-date US Immersion tour which will take place in November and December, just in time to show off the new sounds from his album. Check out tour dates here.

Everyone’s favorite Hawaiian beatmaker, Mr. Carmack, released an experimental seven-track bass EP, Rebuild, that massages the senses and invites even the most inquisitive sound scientist to appreciate its design complexities. Known for his unique arrangements, the seasoned producer builds off heavy 808 drums and general sub-bass frequencies while tinkering with high-end percussive elements, synths, and vocal chops. Another impressive design element is his ability to create dynamic beats the make the listener feel like the song is physically moving. A good example of this is on the track “Midnight” or on “CARTIER.” This careful execution of sound placement also invited collaboration exercises with the likes of Kenny Segal, Great Dane, Falguni Shah, Goodnight Cody, and Mike Parvizi.

Mr. Carmack is set for his 10-date US Immersion tour which will take place end of November and December. From the sounds of it, this would be an excellent activity for bass heads. Check out tour dates here.

Mr. Carmack and Eva Saturn keep it warm this Christmas

Mr. Carmack and Eva Saturn keep it warm this ChristmasMr Carmack Come Home

Mr. Carmack‘s single, “Come Home,” a beautiful ballad featuring Eva Saturn, truly embodies the spirit of Christmas and togetherness. Its delicate arrangement evokes feelings of longing, and its sonic returns give listeners feeling of warmth in their chest – a feeling that is never more welcome than during these short days.

Saturn’s lyrics are very visual, which is the heart of a true Christmas song. These songs that people have grown up with for generations all share the same pull: they’re the question, “are you here with me?” and the answer, “of course.” Saturn’s cadence pulls the listener towards the direction of home and makes them all see and feel the same thing. “Lights on the houses/ frost on the leaves/ kids finding presents under the tree/ just wish my baby would come home to me on Christmas Eve.” These visual, descriptive lyrics figure skate over Mr. Carmack’s perfectly smooth and chilled arrangement.

Together these two have accomplished what many musicians try and fail to do. They’ve captured the unique benevolent love that is so vehemently yet effortlessly produced during the season.

Mr. Carmack teases track list ahead of forthcoming new albumCarmaack Album

Mr. Carmack has remained noticeably quiet on the release front ever since he dropped his edit of Childish Gambino‘s “This Is America” back in July, but as a suggestive Instagram post from the electronic innovator indicates, Mr. Carmack will soon break this silence with a new album. The producer recently shared a track list of 13 songs to his Instagram story. “Time to figure out splits, album #1” Carmack captioned the image.

The comprehensive track list displays the various accreditations per song, with several collaborators contributing vocal work, as well as trumpet, trombone, drums, keys, bass, and other instrumental assistance. The instrumental heavy project is sparse on samples, but borrows the melody from P. Diddy‘s “I need a girl pt. 2” on a track titled “I Still Fuck With You.” Mr. Carmack has yet to reveal any definitive details regarding the album’s title or release date, so listeners will have to simply derive satisfaction from the mere knowledge that a Carmack branded album is incoming, for now.

QUIX delivers heartfelt tribute to Mr. Carmack by flipping ‘Rogue’Qui Mr Carmack

QUIX has delivered a beautiful tribute to Mr. Carmack by reworking “Rogue” off the Hawaiian’s Bang Vol. 3 project. On the heels of his “Look Back” remix for Diplo and DRAM, the New Zealand bass producer creates a celestial, orchestral build with a synthscape, future bass hook, punching snares, and vinyl texture.

QUIX wholeheartedly admitted Mr. Carmack is his inspiration, playing a major role in his perspective about music production. The original “Rogue” was the first track he ever heard of Carmack’s, and after that, down the rabbit hole he went into the prolific beatmaker’s seemingly endless original library.

Noting this very special connection, the producer currently on his QUIX summer tour took the time to praise his inspiration and draw attention to the care and detail put forward by his tribute.

“Mr. Carmack is actually my absolute inspiration and he’s played a big part in my music perspective over the years,” he says in the track description. “I just didn’t want to make a generic future bass flip of this track but I wanted to make something I really felt connected to and something that made me feel special for the intro/build and into the drop.”

Mr. Carmack releases earth-trembling, instrumental rework of Childish Gambino’s ‘This Is America’Jacob Avanzato Carmack

Mr. Carmack has released an edit of Childish Gambino‘s “This Is America,” maintaining subtle pieces of the original’s framework, while keeping the new set list weapon a strictly instrumental hay maker. Playing with a minimal bass beat and open sonic space, the original rework was anchored to Gambino’s apathetic tone, though the Hawaii-based producer dropped a completely the instrumental edit as the final product, and the result is a club-rattling heater.

With trembling low-end appeal and metallic synth stacks, Mr. Carmack’s rendition of the dominating Billboard chart topper will certainly begin to creep into heavy festival play this season. Mr. Carmack is known for his versatility in combining hip-hop beats with electronic elements, and Childish Gambino’s incredibly successful commercial outing has proven to be a perfect canvas for Carmack’s underground touch.
