The Chainsmokers‘ latest track, “Beach House,” may sound familiar to indie/dream-pop connoisseurs. That’s no accident, as the song indeed alludes to the unparalleled experience of listening to Beach House. Drew Taggart sings on the vocal-led song, while a wistful guitar pluck summon flashes of retro pop, ultimately giving the release a new dynamic than fans have yet to witness in recent memory through Chainsmokers’s productions.

“Beach House” is reminiscent of the pop-dance fusion releases that ascended Pall and Taggart into rampant stardom with Memories…Do Not Open. The track will undoubtedly be a contender for a fan-favorite with seasoned Chainsmokers fans, while further cementing their status as pop icons. In addition to continuing their stream of Sick Boy releases, Pall and Taggart recently performed at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, a performance slot previously held by the likes of Fall Out Boy and Taylor Swift.

A favorite off of The Chainsmokers‘ 2017 album, Memories, Do Not Open, “Paris” will soon receive extended visual representation. Tri-Star Pictures has collaborated with the American DJ duo to turn the lead single into a full-on motion picture. The author of the book series that would go on to grow into the top grossing Pitch Perfect franchise will write the screenplay for Tri-Star, which is a division of Sony Pictures. The upcoming film hammers in the “Closer” hit makers’ progression from music studio to movie screen, following the establishment of their Kick The Habit production company which sold the screenplay to “Paris.”

“We are beyond thrilled to have launched Kick The Habit Productions as we continue to bridge the gap between our overall artistic vision, the entertainment industry as a whole, and our fans,” Drew Taggart and Alex Pall said in a joint statement from November 5. Prior Digital Media agent at UTA, Dan Marcus, will head the feature’s development and production for Kick The Habit, alongside Taggart and Pall. “Drew and Alex have a deep connection to their fans, not only through their music, but through what they stand for and represent: transcending preconceived limitations, pursuing one’s passion, entrepreneurialism, and a commitment to living an authentic life,” Marcus added. “They don’t just sing about these themes in their hit songs–it’s who they are.”

The Chainsmokers’ leap from music to feature production can be expected to pay artistic dividends, when the feature eventually arrives.

This remix of The Chainsmokers’ ‘Honest’ set Instagram abuzz

If we’re being “Honest,” this remix is one to watch out for.

The Chainsmokers‘ debut studio album, Memories…Do Not Open has been out for three months now, the album offering listeners a deeper and clearer understanding of Alex Pall and Andrew Taggart’s sound through the LP’s twelve tracks. Up until the album’s release, The Chainsmokers gained most of their notoriety from their release of consecutive smash singles like the Halsey feature, “Closer.”

The ninth-track on the album, “Honest,” emerged as the duo’s next single poised to dominate radio airwaves, following the trend established by “Closer” and “Something Just Like This.” Like most of the songs on Memories…Do Not Open, “Honest” is one to which Andrew Taggart lends his vocals.

As “Honest” continues to grow in popularity, The Chainsmokers have taken to Instagram to share footage from their eponymous Memories…Do Not Open tour, overlaid by a rhythmic remix of the single. Who crafted the remake is not cited in the Instagram caption, nor is a release date for the remix given, but it will likely turn into a fan favorite.
