New York, Los Angeles, and London will serve as the sites of three concurrent Childish Gambino events the weekend of July 14 – 15, as the “This Is America” producer brings his enigmatic Summertime Starts Here event experience series to each city in staggered intervals.

Summertime Starts Here initially debuted in New York on July 13 at Union Square, and will remain in the ‘Big Apple’ into Saturday, July 14, where the second day will commence at Fort Greene Park from 12-4 PM EST. Los Angeles will also receive the Summertime Starts Here experience on July 14. The West Coast edition of the event will take place at California’s Santa Monica pier from 12-4 PM PST. On Sunday, July 15, Gambino’s nomadic fan event will relocate to Fairfax High School from 12-4 PM PST.

Last but certainly not least, London will also be privy to Summertime Starts Here, with the UK version occupying Gunnersbury Park from 1-10 PM GMT. Although Gambino shared little detail about the specifics of the Summertime Starts Here series, each event will supposedly be free of charge. It is unlikely that Gambino will perform live in each city, given the overlap of the three events, though if any mortal man could do it, it would be Donald Glover somehow.

The Summertime Starts Here run follows the July 11 release of Gambino’s new EP, Summer Pack.

London’s Junction 2 festival brought Adam Beyer and Carl Cox together for an iconic b2b set that served as an exemplar of electronic at its very best. The performance will long outlive the single weekend of Junction 2’s 2018 year of production, given the full-length arrival of Beyer and Cox’s appearance, courtesy of Mixmag.

“It’s a dream come true. Playing back-to-back with one of my absolute heroes will be one of the highlights of my life personally as well as professionally,” Beyer said of the collaborative set. The moment will naturally also double as one of the highlights of electronic artistry when it comes to b2b history.

Man found guilty of nightclub acid attack in east London

This post was originally published on this site

A man has been found guilty of throwing acid in the east London nightclub Mangle E8 that injured more than a dozen people earlier this spring.

Arthur Collins, 25, was convicted of carrying out the attack which took place at a Lovejuice Warehouse Party in the early hours of April 17. Collins’ friend, Andre Phoenix, 21, who had also been accused of taking part in the assault, was found not guilty on all charges.

Collins admitted throwing the bottle of the highly acidic fluid over clubbers, although he claims he had not known it was acid. Collins said he had thought the liquid was a “date rape drug” which he claimed in court he had taken from two men after “overhearing them planning to spike a woman’s drink.”

According to the Metropolitan Police, 22 people were injured in total. 16 of those individuals suffered serious burns, three sustained serious eye injuries, one of whom mentioned in court that their eye remains blurry. Another victim suffered horrendous third-degree burns to the left side of his face, ear, neck, and shoulder area.

The attack took place following an altercation between Collins — who claimed in court he was there to celebrate the pregnancy of his then-girlfriend, The Only Way is Essex star Ferne McCann — and a group of men shortly before 1a.m. CCTV footage shows him arriving near 9 a.m. and spraying the bottle several times shortly after the confrontation at 1 a.m. Collins was arrested shortly after the incident in Northamptonshire on April 22.

Collins was found guilty of five counts of grievous bodily harm with intent to harm and nine counts of actual bodily harm. He will be sentenced on December 19.
