KAYZO Gives Skrillex’s Remix Of Travis Scott’s ‘Sicko Mode’ A Major Upgrade In New Flip

Two weeks ago we got our first taste of Skrillex’s 2018 remix productions with the release of his take on Travis Scott’s ‘SICKO MODE.’ The track by all standards was pretty dope, but many fans were hoping for a bit more. The common train of thought was that if the remix was released by anyone

Breaking: EDC Orlando’s main stage catches fire on second night [Video]EDC Orlando 2018 2

Today, November 10, as the Orlando installation of Electric Daisy Carnival in Tinker Field entered into its second night, a fire brought festivities to a temporary halt. Bass music producer Kayzo had recently begun his set on the Kinetic Fields stage when a fire erupted on the top right corner of the structure, as seen in video footage captured by a writer for EDM Sauce below:

Orlando Sentinel reports that the fire was caused when pyrotechnic effects ignited a portion of the screen display, at which point the DJ cut his set short.

Orlando Fire Department spokesperson Ashley Papagni states that the fire was contained upon OFD’s arrival, the Sentinel reports. In a tweet, Insomniac head Pasquale Rotella reiterated this statement, encouraging fans that the show would resume once the conditions are confirmed to be fully safe to do so.

No evacuation has been ordered, and Papagni told the Sentinel that no injuries have been reported. Kayzo is set to play another set at the venue’s Corona Beach Stage later in the night, as well as an afterparty for the event.

Kayzo releases heavy metal dubstep hybrid, ‘WASTED SPACE,’ alongside rock veterans UnderoathKayzo Underoath

Kayzo has come full circle on his latest release, linking with veteran metal band, Underoath on a new single, “WASTED SPACE.” The track’s cutting vocals are accompanied by running guitar that quickly dives into full screamo territory. Punk-inspired percussion elements build the anticipation, culminating in headbang-primed guttural screams from Underoath’s lead vocalist Spencer Chamberlain. The complementary nature of bass music and post-hardcore rock create an ideal crossover environment for the unadulterated dance-punk mayhem that Kayzo crafts on his latest.

The Florida-native metal titans were an inspiration to a younger Kayzo during his days as a hockey player. Says Kayzo,

“When I was  told  of  the  opportunity  to  work  with  Underoath,  it  brought  me  back  to my  hockey  days  prior  to  music.  Their album They’re  Only  Chasing  Safety was  on  heavy  rotation  for  me  during my  athletic  career.”

The new single follows Kayzo’s “FAKE FAKE FAKE,” which features the emo stylings of Italian punk rock band XO Sad. The Icon Collective graduate was also enlisted by Papa Roach to do a re-work to their massively popular, “Last Resort,” earlier this year, and reps for the Houston-born DJ suggest Kayzo has a lot more rock-influenced electronic material in the chamber.

KAYZO seems to have the scene on lock-down since his rather recent, thunderous entrance. The perpetual bass-wielder put out his riot-inducing debut album less than a year ago; and yet, he still hasn’t missed a beat–endlessly toiling away in the studio, procuring tracks on a semi-regular basis.

KAYZO’s latest, “FAKE FAKE FAKE” is a fiery douse of dubstep tinged with more than a hint of sadness. The latter comes with help from a recent Becko alias, xo sad, fusing morose punk/screamo-infused vocals, grinding guitar chords, and pelting bass melodies. The track depicts a trouncing tale of heartbreak: “You’re the reason I still hate / Is this really what you wanted?”

An emotional KAYZO took to Twitter to designate the release a memorable milestone along his rather nascent sonic voyage: “I’m finding my sound and I couldn’t be happier. I love you guys. Thank you for following me on this journey.”

KAYZO and Gammer are have teamed up for a new track titled “Forever,” and the result is is as gargantuan as one might expect from a collaboration between these two powerhouses. It starts off in a deceptively melodic way, but this peace is only temporary. Soon, the beautiful opening falls into bouncy chords and an enchanting vocals that cascade over a raunchy drop. Their robotic weapons in store, the two collaborators douse their audiences in headbang-inducing chaos that operates as a weapon on the dancefloor.

“Forever” is out now via Ultra Music. Prior to merging his talents with Gammer, KAYZO had been immersed in an immense tour schedule which has seen his name pop up on a variety of iconic festival rosters. His latest single, an edit of Papa Roach’s “Last Resort,” gave a taste of the influence the LA-based producer would have on his Gammer collaboration. Gammer in the meantime has been putting out his own grimey series of bass-infused house and dub records, percolating until “Forever’s” release.

Lollapalooza 2018: The Good, The Bad, and The Lobster Corndogs

For the eighth year in a row, I strolled into an all too familiar Lollapalooza at Chicago’s own Grant Park. As in years past, I found myself immediately met with groups of festival goers adorned in the staple Tune Squad jersey and all too many crop tops to count. Mutterings of lobster corndogs ran rampant,
