The Chainsmokers, Migos & More Reveal Their Favorite Superbowl Halftimes Of All Time

This post was originally published on this site

In anticipation of Lady Gaga’s halftime performance at this Sunday’s Superbowl, Billboard reached out to several of music’s most notable figures to ask their favorite and most memorable halftime shows from history. From Migos to The Chainsmokers to Mike Will Made It, the music industry’s most recognizable names chimed in to give their best Superbowl throwbacks just in time for this weekend’s game.

Andra Day, Mario and The Chainsmokers’ Alex Pall said that, in their opinion, the best halftime show ever was performed by the late Michael Jackson during Superbowl XXVII. Even though Jackson was his favorite, Alex Pall said that from now on, Bruno Mars and Beyonce should take over halftime shows.

“We still don’t know how he teleported around the stadium like he did but it was the most awesome thing ever. But since Michael is gone, we need to just let Beyonce and Bruno do every Super Bowl henceforth, no discussion. I’m pretty sure the entire world would get on board with this plan.”

Jeezy was in agreement with Pall, as he cast his vote for Bruno Mars’ Superbowl XLVIII show. “I like that guy, man. We should get in the studio — I have to hit him up.”

Migos’ Quavo said that Janet Jackson’s Superbowl XXXVIII show was the most memorable, while Chase Bryant chose The Rolling Stones and their Superbowl XL performance.

Finally, Mike Will Made It chose Beyonce as his favorite halftime performer, citing her iconic Superbowl 50 showcase.

The Chainsmokers Response To Article Comparing Them To Nickelback Is Absurdly Perfect

This post was originally published on this site

Yesterday, an article by Esquire comparing The Chainsmokers to Nickelback (with exceptional reasoning) went absolutely viral. With such vicious lines as “the duo sounds like it was written by and for the programmers of a Pandora EDM channel” and “the duo has managed to create beer pong tournament background music that offers nothing but repackaged EDM tropes for Spotify plays,” it’s no wonder.

But now, The Chainsmokers have given the textbook perfect response to the article, uploading a clip of them singing (and playing) to Instagram. Beginning with an acapella of “Paris,” they seamlessly transition into a rendition of “How You Remind Me” before cracking up.

We love the internet… watch this:

Welp, here’s the nickelback x chainsmokers mashup that no one wanted..

Marshmello’s “Alone” And Jigglypuff’s Song Fit Perfectly Together

This post was originally published on this site

File this under “things we didn’t think we’d see today,” but it turns out that Marshmello’s “Alone” and Jigglypuff’s hypnosis song fit strangely well together.

Discovered by Danny Trashock, when layered over each other, the two follow the same basic chord progression and, you could even say, sound quite nice together. All the respect in the world to Marshmello for “Alone,” but sometimes your songs end up being the same chord progression as a song sung by a Pokemon… shit happens.

Check it out below, and give Danny a like.

From First To Last Continue Postings With Skrillex

This post was originally published on this site

After adding Skrillex back to their bio on Instagram, From First To Last have uploaded a new photo using the app Miu, which once again features Skrillex. With as much contest as Skrillex has been participating in relating the group, it’s looking more and more likely that there will be some sort of reunion tour, or something alone those lines.

There has been no official confirmation of the sort at this time.

Fans have been putting even more weight behind this theory, following the release of the short movie “The Same Place” last week. At the end of the video, Skrillex says, “And this concludes our adventure.” Many have taken that to have a deeper meaning for the Skrillex brand as a whole, though it’s impossible to know.

What can be said for certain is that Skrillex is definitely going to be playing a part in this new era of From First To Last, and we’re beyond excited to come along for the ride.

Check Out This Awesome, Psychedelic Light Show On A House [VIDEO]

This post was originally published on this site

Even though the holidays have come and gone, it appears that not everyone has put away their stunning house decorations. One house has taken the concept to an entirely new level, however, according to a video uploaded by Facebook page Psychedelic Trance Serbia earlier this week.

The large, two-story home can be seen with an absolutely mind-boggling array of moving, filtered lights graphed onto the front, with different patterns and shapes overlapping and replacing each other around the doors windows and railings – truly an LSD-inspired, projection mapping success.

The result is a overwhelmingly stunning spectacle, one that’s made all the more engaging when paired with the thumping techno track included in the clip. Watch below.

This post was originally published on this site

If you weren’t already aware, yesterday was OWSLA head honcho Skrillex’s birthday, celebrating 29 blissful years on this Earth. For his fans, Skrillex gave the gift of a brand new From First To Last song, the first one featuring his voice in 10 years.

For Skrillex, his friends threw him a surprise party.

Captured by Joyryde last night, Skrillex enters what looks like a hotel lobby or some kind of foyer with the lights dimmed, and they rise to show dozens of friends awaiting his arrival. Also in attendance were Jauz, Dillon Francis, and likely many others.
