Having mastered the art of infectious house beats, English producer Jax Jones continues to explore his collaborative penchant for songstress vocals in his newest track, “Jacques.” Engineering dance-floor hits like “Breathe” with Ina Wroldsen, “Instruction” with Demi Lovato, and “You Don’t Know Me” with RAYE, his latest single taps Swedish pop queen Tove Lo for a sultry club-steamer. “Jacques” will be featured on both Jones’ and Tove Lo’s respective album releases—Jones’ debut studio album Snacks (Supersize) due Sept. 6 and Tove Lo’s forthcoming album Sunshine Kitty due Sept. 20.

Flirtatious and seductive, “Jacques” weaves cheeky lyrics about a club fling into a minimalist production embellished by syncopated low synths and French one-liners. Designed with rhythmic ease and catchy vocals, the track combines Jax Jones’ signature house sound with Tove Lo’s party-girl persona into a delectable guilty-pleasure track.

Axwell debuts first official remix in more than half a decade for Martin Solveig and Jax JonesUmfeu18a 061

It’s a rare occurrence when Axwell presents original music, let alone an official remix but when those moments do arrive, they should not be taken for granted. While the Swedish House Mafia member has undoubtedly shifted his priorities towards the supergroup’s reunion efforts, he has still managed to find some alone time in the studio. For the first time since his notorious progressive rework of Hook N Sling’s “Tokyo By Night” in 2014 (excluding any “cuts” or “remodes”), the phrase “Axwell remix” has re-entered the conversation.

Earlier this year, Martin Solveig and Jax Jones announced the formation of new duo project, Europa, and debuted their inaugural joint single “All Day and All Night” alongside songstress Madison Beer. The Axtone boss has now delivered a spin capped by a heavier club essence than the original cut, as Axwell stretches his streak of more conventional house-leaning productions. With Swedish House Mafia slated to appear at Tinderbox Festival this weekend in Denmark, the remix would serve as a welcomed pivot from the trio’s setlist of classics.

Launchpad: Dance your worries away with this expansive house playlist

This post was originally published on this site

Launchpad is a playlist series showcasing music we love, hand selected by our staff. The tracks come from both emerging and mainstream artists; it’s all about the quality and the unexpected. If you’d like your music featured in Launchpad, submit it for consideration here

As we become consumed with the anticipation of new beginnings in the new year and a fresh start, it’s important that to take some time to reflect and reminisce about the past year. Perhaps it’s been prosperous, or perhaps it’s been incredibly difficult. Regardless, we must dance. We must dance for the moments of joy over the last year and be thankful for those we moments we shared with friends, family, and loved ones. We must dance away the sadness, the heartaches, and most importantly, for those who cannot. It’s with this need to dance, for whatever reason, that we’ve crafted our latest Launchpad playlist. This is a collection of house tracks far and wide that beg us to dance and for them to be the ones danced to.

DA Launchpad Selects:

KDA – “Hate Me ft Patrick Cash”

British DJ and producer KDA’s “Hate me” featuring Patrick Cash has been played out by the likes of Seth Troxler, Jamie Jones, Jackmaster, Tiga, and Pete Tong. It was only right for “Hate Me” to make it on this list of daring dance numbers.

Vndy Vndy – “Lost My Friends”

The last year was flooded with future bass. Many may look to the genre with dismay and point to its unoriginality, expected drops, etc. Certainly, though, there are many artists working within the subgenre that are unique and inspiring. Vndy Vndy is one such act. Their original “Lost My Friends” is based on part of the Tchaikovsky’s “Nutcracker” ballet (“Arabian dance”) and it’s a daringly singular offering that we couldn’t help but include in the mix.

Tracklist:

Jax Jones – “Breathe ft Ina Wroldsen”
Vndy Vndy  – “Lost My Friends”
Bes & Merey – “Flying High”
Tom Tyger & Vyktor Nova – “Move Your Feet”
Miss Nine & Basto – “Deep Deep Down ft Nat Conway”
KDA – “Hate Me ft Patrick Cash”
