Dimitri Vegas: From Sold-Out World Tours to Jurassic World 2

This post was originally published on this site

It seems international superstar Dimitri Thivaios, better known as half of EDM giants Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, is moving on to the Silver Screen, as he has taken to Twitter to share a very intriguing photo that was taken yesterday.

The snap shows Dimitri with Hollywood legend Frank Marshall, producer of the upcoming Jurassic World sequel. And interestingly enough, Marshall himself even reposted the photo, leading fans to believe the two had more than a brief discussion and photo opp.

While nothing is 100% confirmed, outside sources say that the two were indeed meeting to discuss a potential role for Dimitri in the upcoming film. This would be the first major acting gig for Thivaios (though he did voice “Fred” in Big Hero Six for the Flemish translation), so for his sake we hope the speculation is true!

Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike have received a lot of negative attention throughout their rise to fame, and the electronic community certainly has mixed feelings about the duo. However, Dimitri could be the next big thing in Hollywood that we don’t know about, hidden away from the screen by an illustrious DJ career. Only time will tell if that is indeed the case, so for now, all we can do is wait.

Vandals Change L.A. Hollywood Sign To Read “Hollyweed” On New Year’s Eve

This post was originally published on this site

According to authorities, the iconic Hollywood sign in Los Angeles was vandalized around midnight on New Year’s Eve to read “Hollyweed.” Sgt. Trudeau of Security Services told CBS that the trespasser threw two tarps over the O’s, making them appear like lowercase E’s.

The tarps were removed by 10:45 a.m., and an investigation for the misdemeanor charge of trespassing began. Currently, authorities do not know who might have been involved in the incident.

The act of vandalism mirrors anoter from January 1, 1976, when the sign was changed to “Hollyweed” on the same day that a marijuana law went into effect.

Watch the CBS footage below fora look at the sign before it was restored.

Hollywood’s Most Decorated Composer Reveals His Biggest Production Secrets

Hans Zimmer. The very name sends goosebumps up my arms knowing that anything bearing his credit promises a chilling storytelling experience, nevermind he accomplishes it all with sound alone. Inception, The Lion King, Pirates of the Caribbean, The Dark Knight, Interstellar, and more are amongst the over 150 films lucky enough to be graced by his score.

Now, the sonic mastermind is finally opening up on his secrets in his very first MasterClass, and the entire package looks utterly incredible. The winner of four Grammys, two Golden Globes, and one Academy Award, I’d say his advice is more than a little sought after…

Throughout the trailer, Zimmer lays down some stunning quotes that hit right at home, a favorite being “If someone tells you there is a rule, break it.” I won’t attempt to explain the man’s genius, just have a look below and see for yourself.

Along with Hans Zimmer, Joel Zimmerman, aka Deadmau5, joins Masterclass as a first-time teacher.
