NMF Roundup: Madeon reveals ‘Good Faith,’ deadmau5 takes to the skies on ‘SATRN’ + moreDeadmau5 Cube 3.0

It’s most important day of the week: New Music Friday. With the overwhelming amount of tunes hitting the airwaves today, Dancing Astronaut has you covered with the latest edition of The Hot 25.

At long last, Madeon’s sophomore LP, Good Faith, has arrived. Though it’s been long-anticipated, the electronic music community didn’t have time to anticipate new deadmau5, which dropped out of thin air on Nov. 15. Dillon Francis’ Magic Is Real makes a full appearance alongside these, tapping artists like Vera Hotsauce for “Barely Breathing.” MK and Sonny Fodera link with Raphaella for “One Night,” and Chris Lake and Solardo “Free Your Body” on their latest. GRiZ’s Bangers[4].Zip has arrived, featuring songs like “Tiger Kingdom Space Camp,” and MJ Cole’s remixed Flume and Vera Blue’s “Rushing Back.” Friction delivers some drum ‘n’ bass goodness on “Good To Me,” and Eli Brown puts his own spin on Dom Dolla’s “San Frandisco.” Snails, Kill The Noise, and Sullivan King team up for a new mega-collab, “Front 2 Back,” and NGHTMRE and Gunna bring the heat with “CASH COW.” Gammer returns to Monstercat for “Brostep Strikes Back,” and Klingande releases his long-awaited debut LP, The Album. Oliver Heldens links with Firebeatz, Schella, and Carla Monroe for “Lift Me Up,” and Dirty South and Marion Amira prove a formidable force on “All I Need.” Dillon Nathaniel goes deep on a new tech house heater, “Do It Again,” and R3HAB teams up with ZAYN and Jungleboi on “Flames.”

As each week brings a succession of new music from some of electronic music’s biggest artists, here’s a selection of tracks that shouldn’t be missed this NMF.

It’s been a while since fans have gotten any remix content from Australian producer Golden Features. In the past, he’s received mass recognition on remixes for Flume and Porter Robinson, but now, he’s taken a stab at ODESZA‘s 2017 hit, “Falls.”

Golden Features takes the dreamy track up a notch, increasing the tempo and adding a house-ready bassline. ODESZA listeners will recognize the original’s vocals, yet in deep, pitched-down fashion to layer over some hard-hitting electronics on the drop.

Golden Features is setting himself up for a strong finish in 2018, as he recently released his long-awaited debut album SECT, which includes previous hit singles “Falling Out” and “Always.” He’ll also support k?d for a string of west coast dates on the breakout producer’s Find Paradise tour.

Golden Features reveals ‘Always,’ announces debut album coming July 27Golden Features

Australia’s Tom Stell, known by his artist name of Golden Features, is drumming up excitement for his forthcoming debut album.

Set to drop July 27, SECT promises to be just as stellar as its opening track, which Stell released July 13. “Always” opens with a gritty, dark atmosphere that carries the listener into a cacophony of bass, filtered vocals and mystery-filled synths, no doubt serving as a door to the rest of the album’s nine tracks.

“‘Always’ is the oldest track off the album,” Stell says of the song. “The demo was written in 2015 and it turned out to be the cornerstone of SECT’s whole aesthetic; Heavy, aggressive with a classic song structure underpinning it.”

Following SECT‘s release on the 27th, Stell will tour the album around Australia, starting with Hordern Pavilion on Aug. 11.

Formerly-masked Sydney producer, Tom Stell, better known as Golden Features, has released his latest track, “Falling Out,” in conjunction with the announcement of an upcoming EP, due by the end of 2018. “Falling Out,” released mutually through Warner Music Australia and Big Beats, follows a prominent string of releases from the Aussie, including “Wolfe” and “Funeral,” there were featured on a double-sided release through Odesza‘s Foreign Family Collective.

“Falling Out,” a product of GF’s prolific songwriting ability, paired with driving synth lines, is described by Features as “a step away from conventional club music.”
