As if getting a whole remix package for Diplo‘s California EP wasn’t enough to win over fans, he now decides to put the cherry on top by dropping yet another remix from Valentino Khan for his track, “Welcome to the Party.”
The original, which was featured on the Deadpool 2 soundtrack, featured trap horns and aggressive percussion that sat ever-so-perfectly behind the toplines by French Montana and Lil Pump. Valentino then adds a whole new personality to it as he incorporates intense saw bass and a punchy snare, along with unique sounds in the drop to take an already energetic song and turn it into a heater.
Along with her fellow ex-Mousketeers Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera proved to be one of the most durable hit-makers of the Y2K-era teen-pop explosion. Long after most of their peers found alternate careers in show business or disappeared from pop culture entirely, these artists kept sending singles to the top 10. Spears survived … More »
The wisecracking mercenary Deadpool returns to the big screen this Friday in the United States. Diplo has enlisted a lengthy convoy of rap and vocal talent, including French Montana, Lil Pump, and Zhavia Ward, for his latest track, “Welcome To The Party,” that is set to be featured on the official motion picture soundtrack for the heavily anticipated Deadpool 2, out May 18.
It’s not terribly difficult to envision the absurdly comical, fourth-wall-breaking Deadpool plunging into a fight scene to the sound of the track’s epochal bass and forthright trap beat. While both French Montana and Lil Pump are each assigned their own verses, Zhavia, a former contestant on Fox‘s talent competition, The Four, delivers a short, but high-energy hook.
In Diplo’s lyric Youtube video, a lone, animated, and flower-crowned Deadpool is seen doing a number of popular internet dances, including the shoot dance and the floss dance.
French Montana is the latest industry figure to honor Avicii in the form of a live tribute. Joining the ranks of Rita Ora, Kygo, Black Coffee, and the many other artists who’ve publicly acknowledged the “Levels” hit-maker’s passing during their live performances, the rapper notably worked Avicii’s “Wake Me Up” into his recent show in Norway.
“YOU WAS SHINING THROUGH THESE DARK CLOUDS ON US!!” French Montana wrote in his Instagram post, a video later uploaded to his account that documented the heartfelt moment. As the crowd’s energy clearly conveys, Avicii’s impact is, and will continue to be, a timeless one.
