From the opening measures of Medasin and Felly’s new collaboration, “At Fault,” it’s clear the pair make a complementary match. Felly and Medasin both exhibit the same chameleonic qualities in production style and aesthetic, effectively able to credibly cover hip-hop, jazz, surf rock, trap, electro-soul and more between the two of them. Coming together for “At Fault,” the pair craft a dreamy, downtempo hip-hop cut that’s primed for late-night-windows-down cruising.

The new collaboration signals a wave of upcoming material underway from the ALT:Vision producer, who was named Dancing Astronaut‘s Breakout Artist of the Year in 2018. On “At Fault,” Connecticut-native rapper Felly glides over Medasin’s tightly wound percussion sequences and hazy, atmospheric synth arrangements, rhyming around the constructs of Medasin’s calming beat for a perfect summer vibe that’s definitely worth repeated listens.
