Despite only releasing one album in the 2010s, Dr. Dre has topped Forbes’ list of highest paid musicians of the decade, earning a reported $950 million. According to Forbes, Dre accumulated his wealth primarily due to his business ventures, most notably through the wildly popular Beats by Dre headphone series which was acquired by Apple.
In contrast, the decades number two earner Taylor Swift earned the bulk of her $825 million through a steady stream of chart-topping albums and her relentless touring. Pop icon Beyoncé comes in third with $685 million, beating out her husband Jay-Z by $125 million.
According to Forbes, if postmortem earnings were accounted for pop superstar Michael Jackson’s reported $2.37 billion would take the top spot. Read the full list below:
Purple Disco Machine have the honor of remixing the “(I’m Gonna) Love Me Again” duet between Elton John and the actor that played him in his biopic, Taron Egerton. The rinse features that leading, funky bassline in a more prominent role to the original that sits below the euphoric and ecstatic vocals from the star of “Rocketman.” The tune was shortlisted for Best Original Song at the Oscars, so in celebration, the electro-funk house reimagining was released from the groove masters responsible for a stellar remix of Fatboy Slim’s “Praise You” and the recently released major label remix of Dua Lipa’s “Don’t Start Now.”
The original was also nominated for a Golden Globe and a Critics Choice Award. Egerton received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture (Musical or Comedy and the film was nominated for Best Motion Picture (Musical or Comedy).
