While EDC Las Vegas’ 2018 year of production left electronic listeners with a slew of live recorded sets to stream long after the festival’s end, Dabin’s EDC appearance arrives in a unique form.

Delivered at Cosmic Meadow, Dabin’s full-length EDC set is now available, courtesy of fan footage filmed from the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. “This video was made entirely from fan footage sent to me by you guys and would not be possible without your love and support,” Dabin captioned the video, which offers listeners an immersive experience from the crowd’s point of view, allowing viewers to relive the set time and time again.

VIRTU releases euphoric single, ‘Everything’ [FREE DOWNLOAD]

LA-based producer and vocalist VIRTU unveils “Everything,” the second official release off his upcoming EP. Metamorphosis. VIRTU is making huge moves as of late, with an official remix for Atlantic Records and a killer performance from the Proximity stage at EDC Vegas 2018.

“Everything” contains blissful sounds that will create a positive aroma in any setting, especially as summer approaches, with echoing vocals by VIRTU himself and bold piano cadences.

“‘Everything’ is about universality and connection. I view life, in many ways, as a singular organism and I attempted to describe that relationship with this song as simply as I could.” – VIRTU

Mija shares dizzying drum & bass tune, ‘Talk’

To coincide with her EDC Las Vegas performance, Mija has released her first single, “Talk,” since her exploratory HOW TO MEASURE THE DISTANCE BETWEEN LOVERS EP, released early 2018.

Mija’s music is invariably fluid–hence her “fk a genre” mantra. Her budding discography has already touched on styles ranging from pummeling bass house, with her 2015 OWSLA debut with Ghastly, “Crank It,” to the tender synth-pop from her recent EP. An adept visual artist, singer, songwriter, DJ, and producer, Mija offers her unapologetic, unequivocal strangeness to a slew of mediums.

In a similar vein to her April remix of Alice Glass‘ “Without Love,” though vastly more chaotic, Mija’s “Talk” delves deep into the intoxicating disarray of drum & bass. Unfettered by convention, “Talk” is brimming with jazzy bass displays and dissonant synth layering. The track’s turbulent tone is elevated by both its fluttering percussion and a monologue Mija herself provided, within which she questions the precarious, cyclical nature of reality.

Forbes confirms Marshmello’s true identity in cover story

This post was originally published on this site

DJ/Producer Marshmello has taken the electronic music scene by storm two short years after making his debut performance. The producer is famed for his anonymity thanks to his iconic helmet

For years the electronic music community has tried to coerce his identity out of him but Marshmello has stuck to his guns by steadfastly refusing to give up his identity as well as playing a prank or two on fans about it—like that time he had Tiesto pretend to reveal himself as Marshmello at EDC Vegas.

While the community was smart enough to determine that Tiesto was indeed NOT the famed producer, there has been increased speculation that Marshmello is Chris Comstock, otherwise known as Dotcom. This is thanks to Skrillex calling Marshmello “Chris” in an interview along with a discovery that Marshmello and Dotcom had the same exact tattoo.

Thanks to a recent Forbes article, we now may have the final substantiation needed to 100% confirm that Marshmello is indeed Chris Comstock/Dotcom. Forbes published a royalty monitor for Marshmello’s newest single “Silence,” which lists Comstock as the only songwriter on the track aside from Khalid. “Marshmello” is not credited anywhere.

For his part, the producer used his Twtitter account to address the Forbes publication, saying:

While we love a good mystery, we’ll consider this the final bit of proof to call this a closed case.

During his EDC Las Vegas set, Porter Robinson performed his signature, moving, Worlds set that has captivated fans all over the world. Though the live stream gave absentee fans a taste of the performance, one fan was able to record the whole thing with his cell phone and uploaded the video to YouTube for those who missed the set.

EDC marks Robinson’s largest show since concluding his Shelter tour with Madeon at Coachella. His Worlds sets are always a site to behold, but there’s something particularly magical about seeing it in full HD at the Cosmic Meadow stage.

Watch RL Grime perform ‘Stay for It’ with Miguel at EDC

This post was originally published on this site

RL Grime brought out Miguel to perform their new single, “Stay for It” at EDC Vegas last night, June 16. Though the track only surfaced weeks ago, the two artists have been finalizing the production for two years, and Grime has played it sporadically in his sets throughout this time period.

RL Grime posted a few words about the song finally being released via his YouTube channel:

“I had the pleasure of working with one of my favorite artists ever, Miguel. We were both raised in LA, and draw on a lot of the same feelings…as different as our music is. this song began on the back of a tour bus in 2015, and has taken on many lives over the last 2 years.. but as I’ve learned, patience has a magical effect … so thrilled to finally share this.”

3LAU and Audien team up for new single, ‘Hot Water’

This post was originally published on this site

Long-time friends and B2B enthusiasts 3LAU and Audien have teamed up for their newest release, “Hot Water.”  Victoria Zaro provides the vocals which are the central focus of the drop, complementing its catchy repetition and deep bass-line. The track has been teased via both of the producer’s social media accounts, and Audien commented on their collaboration saying, “There’s something about collaborating with a friend that encourages risk-taking, dares you to dig deeper sonically, and reminds you of why you make music for a living.”

3LAU also commented on their exploration of various genres in order to create the song:

“Audien & I wanted to make a song that stayed true to our euphoric roots, but that explored a mixture of genres. We wanted to create something that people wouldn’t expect; the result was this dark cathartic landscape of sound that I couldn’t be more proud of!”

EDC Vegas festival goers will have the opportunity to hear the first performance of the song during 3LAU x Audien’s B2B set tonight at the Circuit Grounds (Stage 3). Those who aren’t physically at EDC Vegas will be able to stream the performance via Red Bull TV.
