Major Lazer has debuted the video for their new summer single “Make It Hot” featuring Brazilian superstar Anitta. The video is in partnership with BACARDI, with the famous rum brand making several appearances throughout the feature. The song unites Spanish vocals from Anitta with the group’s dancehall-inspired signature sound, with the viewer participating in the party from the video’s onset.

Anitta speaks about the video and working with Major Lazer, noting,

“It’s amazing when you work in synergy with someone who completes you artistically, Having the opportunity to write/compose another song with Major Lazer was really special. We have developed this energy that is similar to being around family and close friends when we work together. It’s good to be able to bounce ideas off each other and that’s something that happens naturally now. I think it’s difficult for anyone to listen to this song and remain still.”

Anitta steals the show, dancing through the feature with the members of Major Lazer making cameos throughout. The video is total sensory overload, making the visuals as colorful as the sonic elements of the track, and ultimately serves as a perfect compliment to the release.

With Diplo’s signature Mad Decent Block Party just a month away, fresh material from the EDM goliath’s very own dancehall collective, Major Lazer, serves as a warm welcome to the impending festival season.

In what started as a project to repackage reggae and dancehall to the dance music masses, the Diplo-led trio—which also sports the talents of Walshy Fire and Ape Drums—has blossomed into an auditory melting pot of cultures, fusing musical and visual inspirations from around the globe. Major Lazer’s new single, “Make It Hot,” does just this, finding common ground among Eastern and Latin sound palettes all within a trudging moombahton beat.

Rio de Janeiro’s very own Anitta supplies vocals, which not only puts a much-needed sheen on the amalgamation of sounds present, but slathers the summer-ready beat with Major Lazer’s patented brand of grinding EDM swag.

Hosted at the Gillette Stadium in Massachusetts on July 20 and 21, this year’s Mad Decent Block Party is headlined by Major Lazer, Billie Eilish, G-Eazy and Miguel. Tickets to the event can be found here.

Alesso unveils first single of 2018 with ‘REMEDY’Alesso Press Shot

After crushing 2017 with chart-topping, radio hits including “Let Me Go” featuring Hailee Steinfeld and Florida Georgia Line, and “Is That For Me” featuring Brazilian vocalist Anitta, Alesso is back again with new music. Making his 2018 debut, the famed Swedish DJ gives fans a taste of his renewed sound on “REMEDY” featuring English singer/songwriter Conor Maynard.

The new single is built on wide appeal, as Alesso incorporates a wide range of instrumentals and rhythms. He kicks it off with soothing piano riffs and a soca-inspired drum beat, all layered under captivating vocals from Maynard. The tune’s break is light, yet pleasing to the ear with melodic harmonies and echoing pitch changes, bringing together a warming, complementary collaboration for the pair on “REMEDY.”

This track is Alesso’s first release on Universal Music Group’s new imprint 10:22pm, and made its live debut on Good Morning America’s Summer Concert Series in NYC’s Central Park. He’ll stay in the US this fall, closing out the main stage with Tiësto at Electric Zoo‘s 10th anniversary prior to a headline set at Imagine Music Festival September 21.

3LAU delivers sensuous remix of Alesso’s ‘Is That For Me’

3LAU fans can expect the producer-philanthropist to debut his latest re-imaginative undertaking on his North American Ultraviolet tour: a remix of Alesso and Anitta’s recent release, “Is That For Me.”

3LAU’s take amplifies the sonic sexual appeal of the original through a sultry, low toned bass line that pulsates throughout the duration of the song. The “Is It Love” hit maker layers metallic synths over the bass line at the drop’s build, effectively deepening the track’s pitch while tempering Anitta’s soaring vocal. 3LAU’s remix is an alluring flirtation with an edgier sound than that exhibited by the original.

Alesso – Is That For Me ft Anitta

Alesso moves deeper into the pop territory that he toed on cross genre single, “Let Me Go,” on his latest release, “Is That For Me,” a sultry product that further evinces Alesso’s shift from Swedish commercial house to a more mainstream, pop-oriented sound.

He enlists fellow Shots label mate, Anitta for the fluid vocal number, making use of an ear catching pop hook that enables the Brazilian phenom to exhibit her expansive vocal range. “Is That For Me” materializes as the track that could very well prove to be Anitta’s first international hit, the release a part of the singer’s “Checkmate” campaign, which will see Anitta release a new song each month in English, Spanish, or Portugese as a part of her labor to bring her music to many different markets.
