In celebration of Above & Beyond‘s Acoustic III tour and album release, the trance trio released their full set from their acoustic Hollywood Bowl concert from 2016. Along with a backing 34-piece orchestra, the Anjunabeats label bosses also share the two-hour stagetime with featured singers such as Zoë Johnston, Cobi, Justine Suissa, and Natalie Holmes. Songs covered include “We’re All We Need,” “Sun & Moon,” “Satellite/Stealing Time,” and many more from the group’s never-ending discography.
The Acoustic III tour will stop by some of most prestigious concert venues in the UK and North America, including London’s Royal Albert Hall and The Alexandra Palace Theatre, New York’s Radio City Music Hall, The Kennedy Centre in Washington D.C., the Greek Theatres in Los Angeles and Berkeley, and a special performance at Red Rocks Amphitheatre on July 1, accompanied by the Colorado Symphony Orchestra. Fans can now register for pre-sale tickets here.
The first acoustically treated track the album project, “Flying By Candlelight,” with vocalist Marty Longstaff was recently released in the rollout of the summer project.
Earlier this week, the Anjunadeep crew surprised fans by releasing the first half of Anjunadeep 11 with no prior announcement. Label boss James Grant explained the decision for the highly-anticipated series’ partial early release was motivated by a desire for all featured artists to be properly recognized. Now, CD 2 joins its predecessor to complete the acclaimed compilation’s full double-disc roll-out.
Mixed by legends Jody Wisternoff and James Grant, CD 2 welcomes the likes of Yotto, Dosem, and Frost among many others. Additionally, Durante & HANA team up for a tranquil vocal-driven track, Amtrac unites with Alex Metric‘s groovy new offering, and beloved duo Tinlicker assists on a couple of songs. Showcasing Anjunadeep’s riveting sound going into 2020, Anjunadeep 11 proves yet again that the heavyweight label delivers on sky-high standards.
2019 promises to be a banner year of production for Electric Daisy Carnival‘s (EDC) East Coast arm in Orlando, as the staple of the Sunshine State festival circuit unveils its largest lineup yet.
The event will bring a broader selection of electronic talent to Tinker Field from November 8-10 as it expands from a two- to a three-day dance affair to accommodate its voracious following. Jam-packed with the genre’s most acclaimed artists, EDC Orlando’s 2019 lineup features 3LAU, ZHU, Kaskade, Habstrakt, Diplo, DJ Snake, CamelPhat, Gorgon City, just to name a few from the star-spangled roster. More than 20 artists will make their timely Orlando debut, including ANNA, FISHER, Nora En Pure, i_o, and San Holo, among others.
An array of stage takeovers further diversifies EDC Orlando’s agenda. Adam Beyer and Green Velvet will curate branded talent for their Drumcode and La La Land demonstrations, respectively. Dreamstate will meanwhile cater to the trance enthusiasts in attendance, while Bassrush, LA’s Factory93, and Insomniac Music Group will assemble their own aural armies across their takeovers. The mau5trap crew is more than likely to further the trademarked fun with a band of We Are Friends envoys.
Passes to EDC Orlando’s 2019 chapter are now available here.
Two of the most pronounced titans of the trance/uplifting house music trades, Above & Beyond and Seven Lions have unveiled their joint effort, premiered a day early on Proximity‘s YouTube channel, “See The End,” featuring Opposite The Other.
Ears were fully perked this past installment of EDC Las Vegas, when the Anjunabeats owners invited Seven Lions onstage to debut the track under the 2019 electric sky. Recurring back to the larger-than-life, 2010 era electro/big room golden age, “See The End” drums up a wealth of nostalgia, with its resounding, euphoric synth line and blaring kicks.
Seven Lions first tipped his hat to the trio over half a decade ago, with his “You Got To Go” remix, which the trio embraced emphatically. Earlier this year, as an ostensible foreshadowing of the collaboration, Seven Lions released another revamp from the Anjuna bosses’ auspicious archives: a “Sahara Love” remix.
“See The End” is officially out tomorrow on Anjunabeats.
Many know Above & Beyond by way of their sentimental brand of trance music and immersive, interactive sets, but the British trio has always had an ear for ambient as well. They’ve merged this side of their artistry with their appreciation of yoga and general mindfulness in Flow State—their next album project centered around calming, beatless sounds. It was released on July 19, and features an array of re-released tunes along with some new ones.
Flow State floats through the speakers, with each composition melting effortlessly into one another. Meditative and emotive with just a few choice elements, the LP effectively captures the spirit of their yoga sets that began by chance at Burning Man five years ago. Classics like “Sun In Your Eyes” make the cut, while newer pieces like “Slow Buchla Sunshine” and “Strength From Inside” add a bit of shimmer into the overall product. It’s perfect to listen to with eyes closed and in a state of quiet contemplation. The EP is accompanied by a touching opening talk by Elena Bower, a yogi the group met at the aforementioned desert gathering and who leads their yoga sets at gigs around the USA.
Above & Beyond have released something a little different, but something full of out-of-this-world beauty. “Flow State” is an ambient album created specifically for yoga and meditation. Not only is this album full of calming tracks, but it also features a spoken word section. Above & Beyond enlisted the help of Elena Brower for the spoken word

Above and Beyond has released the Seven Lions remix of Sahara Love. Jeff Montalvo has once again proven his ability to improve on perfection. In 2011 I stumbled upon a remix of Ocean Lab’s Satellite by an unknown Seven Lions and that moment changed the course of my entire life. That particular moment was the
Trance giants Armin van Buuren and Above & Beyond have teamed up for their first-ever collaboration ‘Show Me Love,’ debuting the track during van Buuren’s Main Stage set at A State of Trance 900 in Utrecht on February 23. The Dutch heavyweight invited the trio onstage, eliciting an overwhelmingly positive reaction from the unsuspecting ASOT crowd.
Given van Buuren and Above & Beyond’s statuses as some of the most auspicious artists in the trance world, it’s curious that the two have not crossed paths in a production capacity until now. With a piano breakdown, gritty synths, and melodic atmosphere, “Show Me Love” brings the core of both groups’ signature strengths into a high-energy collaboration. “Show Me Love” is set for official, dual release March 1 on each artist’s respective label, Armind (Armada) and Anjunabeats.
Mysterious techno producer i_o uploaded a 45 second clip of his remix of classic Above & Beyond track ‘Alchemy’. The mau5trap artist has quickly gained recognition with his dark sound and versatile production, having sold out 5 of 6 opening tour shows and set to play Beyond Wonderland on March 22. He recently collaborated with Tommy Trash on progressive house single ‘Let Me Go’.
i_o’s “Alchemy” remix hits hard with its pulsating bass and hi-hats, putting a dark, techno-inspired twist on Above & Beyond’s beloved trance song. It feels like quite a fitting reimagining, given the original’s poignant themes. “Alchemy” has been previously remixed by Seven Lions and Jody Wisternoff. This particular re-work is i_o’s first stab at an Anjunadeep re-work.
