Former half of Flosstradamus Josh Young is now known as YehMe2, and despite leaving the legendary trap group, that has not stopped him from continuing to release the hard-hitting trap tracks that fans came to love and expect. Young is back with a new release under the moniker in collaboration with Bailo, and per the Soundcloud description, the duo made the track “in 15 minutes.” Bailo is also a trap mainstay, frequently releasing tracks on the likes of Buygore and Dim Mak.

Sirens open the track, and synthesized rap vocals permeate the backdrop as the release propels forward. Manufactured for live performance with its hip-hop trap blend, it’s the perfect release to mix into a set or to get a Saturday night going.

Brownies & Lemonade has spent years making a name for itself on the Los Angeles party circuit. Now known for putting on shows with impeccably on-trend bass, trap and future artists, open aux cord nights, secret venues, even more secret lineups, B&L has become a stalwart in the LA electronic scene through grassroots measures.

But the spontaneous and secretive nature of the events they put on is now shifting. After weeks of teasing new party locations on Twitter, the group announced its first-ever Brownies & Lemonade tour. Featuring the party’s frequently featured artists like Alexander Lewis, CRAY, KRANE, Luca Lush and Vincent, the tour will kick off on September 29 in San Diego. With nine total dates culminating in a show on December 8 in Houston, Brownies & Lemonade will tour the western half of North America. More information is available on the B&L website, where tickets are on sale now.

Kendrick Lamar – X (Rickyxsan x YehMe2 Remix)

Kendrick Lamar – X (Rickyxsan x YehMe2 Remix)Kendricklamar Hero

Rickyxsan and YehMe2 of Flosstradamus fame release a flaming trap remix of Kendrick Lamar’s “X,” featuring 2 Chainz and Saudi. The original, which was also produced by Lamar, was featured on the Black Panther album.

This new version of “X” hardly uses Lamar’s vocals, becoming a record completely Rickyxsan and Yehme2’s own. They pitch up the tempo to add energy, inserting some bounce into the mix as well with titillating synthesizer. Then, pitched-up vocals fall into gritty bass, squeaking syntns, and mammoth 808s that sends shivers down the spine. It’s safe to say they’ve adapted Kendrick Lamar’s piece into a veritable festival hit, geared toward causing a frenzy among its listeners.

Ricky and Josh Young have been friends for a while but have never collaborated. Once Young started working on the remix, his mind went to Rickyxsan  to help create this body melting trap vibe.

Yehme2 concludes his fan favorite ‘Steal This Mixtape’ series with third and final installmentYehme2 Steal The Mitape

Josh Young, a.k.a. YehMe2, has released his final “Steal This Mixtape” mix. The trap-heavy string of songs is the third installment from the Fool’s Gold artist. He explores the depths of drum & bass and other experimental genres in this edition, challenging himself to make a beat a day. Unique melodies and instrument combinations are used throughout the project, cross-mixing genres in songs like a trap remix of Chuck Berry’s “Johnny B. Goode” that adds to the mix’s eclectic nature.

Trap high hats are a continuous theme, still keeping to his original success as half of the massive EDM duo, Flosstradamus. Moving forward, Young mentioned he’s going to start focusing on pushing the boundaries of his original music.

A-Trak and YehMe2 join forces on ‘Skat Men’ EP

Atrak-YehMe2

Josh Young deserves some serious respect for his boldness. The man left an incredibly successful dance music project as a former half of Flosstradamus, with the promise to himself, and his fans, that he was going to broaden his horizons and challenge himself. Well, since the launch YehMe2, the producer has done just that and avoided the leverage his former position at the head of HDYNATION would provide to his new project.

Now, YehMe2 has linked with A-Trak for a handful of exciting moves. The pair are on tour together as 2018 gets underway, and now they’re upping the ante with a two-track mini EP that includes a preview of a third collaboration to soon follow. Instead of gritty hip-hop and trap products though, A-Trak and YehMe2 opt for a more lighthearted approach with their Skat Men EP — comprised of both DJs actually scatting on the tracks.

Both “Neo Wokyo” and “Take Me 2 The Barbershop,” featuring rump-shaking aficionado Wuki, are simply fun, shuffle-primed uptempo cuts that don’t take themselves too seriously. The EP also includes a preview for the duo’s impending “Prayer Hands” as well. Strong club fare — probably not. Proper festival ammo — also unlikely. The two Fools Gold veterans couldn’t seem to care less though, and therein lies the joint project’s appeal. At it’s core, the EP is meant to be goofy and amusing, and it just made scatting a helluva lot cooler.

Kris Wu (feat. Travis Scott) – Deserve [Lido Remix]

This post was originally published on this site

Lido has broken through to the mainstream in recent times, garnering critical support for his releases of Portugal, The Man’s seminal pop track “Feel It Still” and a massive collaborative effort with THEY on “Not Enough.” These singles came after a slew of forward-thinking outputs over his years in music that had already made the burgeoning talent a must-watch.

Now, the Norwegian producer has released an official remix of Kris Wu’s sleek single “Deserve” featuring Travis Scott. Scott’s atmospheric vocals act as a heady backdrop to Lido’s saturated bass lines and spaced out synths; the track is a pointed example of why Lido’s artistic progression continues to fuel his global notoriety.

Former Flosstradamus member YehMe2 has also released a funk wave house remix of the track, which features popping synths and instrumental drums that play like an indie dance track.

Former Flosstradamus member YehMe2 has remixed Anna Lunoe and Sleepy Tom

This post was originally published on this site

It’s hard to envision a harder drop on Anna Lunoe and Sleepy Tom’s “Stay Awake,” but YehMe2 (real name Josh Young) has achieved just that with his remix, However, the producer’s ability to make the song even harder is not surprising considering that Young was, until recently, one half of Flosstradamus.

YehMe2’s take on “Stay Awake” speeds up the BPM and adds another layer of synths to create a more trap-driven version of the dubstep tune, replete with transformative, vocal-layered drop. Young has been releasing both originals and remixes via his Soundcloud, and we can expect a lot more music from the former Flosstradamus component.

In a recent interview with Billboard about his departure from Flosstradamus and what is ahead, Young stated “It’s totally new to me, but I’m in a headspace right now where I feel like I can take it on,” Young says. “I wouldn’t have left if I didn’t feel capable, and that’s the best part about this. Not only am I excited to have that freedom again, I’m also excited to see what I can do.”
