Gesaffelstein‘s multi-weekend billing on Coachella’s 2019 lineup marks the enigmatic producer’s first return to the California affair since his 2015 appearance in the desert. It’s only fair to speculate that Gesaffelstein will come correct with plenty of sonic tricks up his sleeve, given the amount of time that has lapsed since his last performance at Coachella. There’s no denying it: RÜFÜS DU SOL have taken the electronic music sector by storm, and now, the alternative electronic trio is set to take the stage at Coachella‘s Outdoor Theatre. RÜFÜS DU SOL’s Tyrone Lindqvist, Jon George, and James Hunt have been fixtures of dance music’s live touring circuit since the release of their third studio album, SOLACE. The group hit the road after the arrival of the critically acclaimed production to embark on an expansive North American tour that bore the same title as the LP. From one sold-out stop to the next, RÜFÜS DU SOL collectively worked their way through a number of major U.S. cities to present barefaced renditions of SOLACE inclusions, and to elucidate the raw, cerebral side of electronic music in the process.
The group also landed a residency with Wynn Las Vegas’s NightSwim event series, in a testament to the group’s ever increasing live presence, following fans’ hungry demand for more face to face encounters with the visionaries. Coachella 2019 is a benchmark in Tyrone Lindqvist, Jon George, and James Hunt’s shared artistic career as RÜFÜS DU SOL: the musicians will not only play each of the festival’s two weekends, but will also present their new 360-degree film, Underwater, a production that tells the visual story of the SOLACE inclusion.
