Each week, New Music Friday sweeps through with torrential force, showering streaming platforms with immeasurable amounts of new tunes. Just like Dancing Astronaut rounds up 25 of the biggest songs of the week for the Hot 25 Spotify playlist each New Music Friday, Lunar Lunes serves as a landing pad for SoundCloud users who want a whole new dose of tunes to kick off the work week.

In this week’s installment, Golf Clap put a groovy spin on BROODS‘ “Peach.” Nicky Romero re-imagines Martin Garrix‘s “Dreamer” with Mike Yung as a melody-centric big room track, and Moscow duo Volac return to AC Slater‘s Night Bass with their Funky EP. Chime holds nothing back on an creative dubstep remake of the Super Smash Bros Ultimate “Main Theme / Lifelight.” Prince Fox continues his string of remixes with a take on Travis Scott‘s chart-topping “Sicko Mode,” and QUIX puts his own spin on GASHI‘s “Creep On Me.” KUURO deliver a formidable Monstercat release, “What U Wanna Do” with Spencer Ludwig, and Alvin Risk reveals his latest as HA with Hodgy, “O.P.E.N.” Culture Code and Rabinik tug at the heartstrings with “Love Somebody,” and Trivecta pounds out a powerful trance beat on his remix of Myon and Late Night Alumni‘s “Hearts & Silence.”

Australian producer and DJ TyDi may have released a twelve track album less than six months ago, but that hasn’t led to him pumping the brakes on new releases. He is out with a new track titled “It Will Be Okay,” and it features “Did You Know” vocalist London Thor.

“It Will Be Okay” touches back on the Australian’s roots in progressive trance, with Thor’s gossamer vocals weaving in and out of airy chords. The melody propels forward into a euphoric climax equivalent to riding on a cloud, making the track perfect for a sunny Saturday afternoon.  TyDi spoke with DA about what inspired him to make this track, citing it was a refreshing production for him.

“For the last few years I’ve been making extremely complex music. My album Collide had an entire orchestra in it… I think I needed to take my mind somewhere else, towards summer. I suddenly started listening to all the old french house classics that inspired me in the early 2000’s, and they were just these constant loops of happiness! So I decided to see if I could get that looping happy vibe and incorporate it into a modern progressive sound. I don’t really want people to overthink this song, I just want them to blast it in the sunshine and enjoy!” 

It’s hard not to enjoy “It Will Be Okay,” and TyDi has certainly found a way to use his past influences to create a cheery, modern release.

Fellow Dutchmen and certified big room aficionados, Hardwell and the Blasterjaxx brethren, have released “Bigroom Never Dies,” an earth (or club)-shattering ode to their momentous musical styles.

Brothers by blood and collaborators by choice, DubVision has concocted a new, transcendently vocalized progressive house anthem, “Steal The Moon,” with lyrics and piano chords as ambitious as its title.

Far from his first run with Anjunabeats, Audien has made an auspicious return to the label with “Higher,” twinkling, atmospheric, and emblematically Anjuna, with vocal accents from Cecilia Gault.

Future house furnishings compliments of Mesto‘s “Give Me Love.”

Midnight Kids have given R3HAB‘s formerly much more buoyant “Hold On Tight” a deliciously smooth chillstep makeover.

One of the freshest and most vivacious new faces to make his way on the house spectrum, FISHER, has graced Catch & Release with “Losing It,” pitched-down, nefariously fun, and imperatively danceable.

Jamie Jones‘s tech-laden remix of Elderbrook‘s “Sleepwalking” catapults the listener into a kaleidoscopic chasm of rippling synths and subdued, echoing vocals.

Mothica has once again lent her sensuous and full-bodied musings to insectile counterpart Icarus Moth, for “Don’t,” perpetuating an already longstanding musical partnership.

DeModa’s new saxophone-infused “Her(e),” (crafty) featuring Jafé is a sundry summer salutation — equal parts chillout and funktastic.

Household EDM vocalist, KARRA, joins JayKode for “Living Out Loud,” a brimming future bass track from Trap City Records.

Male-female duo, BONNIE X CLYDE have released their five-track While We’re Young EP, with ambient, chill trap permeating throughout.

The now-one-man show of Flosstradamus has proven he has no intentions of throwing his wild antics in reverse any time soon, as he releases “GUAVA,” a glass-shattering trap offering with Rawtek.

LA’s SNBRN keeps the summer sun a’shining with his new sultry house track, “If I Can’t Have You,” featuring soulful vocals from Harloe.

Crizzly and YDG make a rowdy riddim debut on Doctor P‘s Circus Records with “Knocked Out,” a hardcore dubstep track with searing switch-ups and gear-grinding bass.

TyDi taps composer Christopher Tin for lush orchestral collaborative LP, ‘COLLIDE’

DJ and Producer tyDi takes novelty in dance music as a surmountable challenge, answering the call to tap into sounds that haven’t been heard before in his new album COLLIDE. The LP is a collaboration with two time Grammy award winning composer Christopher Tin.

TyDi producer Tyson Illingworth approached Tin with a proposal for just one track, hoping the composer could bring the power of a full orchestra to an unfinished riff he had created. The duo discovered an immediate chemistry with their collaboration, and from there, COLLIDE was born.

“When you watch a film with an intense score, you’re swept away to a different planet,” said Illingworth in a statement. “The atmosphere, emotions, melodies and instruments captivate you. That feeling doesn’t always enter the dance realm. I wanted to capture that magic and bring it to the electronic world.”

Listeners will notice that the electronic and orchestral sections of the track each give the other time to breathe and seem to flawlessly compliment the other.

The album is certainly something to captivate the attention of both Tin and tyDi’s separate fan bases. Both musicians have noted that they believe their fans would like the genre of music the other musician brings to the album. They similarly believe that both fan bases simply haven’t been exposed to the other type of music (orchestral compositions and electronic dance music respectively).

While this outcome is yet to be seen, the album is certain to captivate listeners thanks to this fearless and unique mix.





TyDi releases his most emotionally charged track yet from forthcoming album

You Dont Love Me

TyDi and Christopher Tin have released the third single off of their forthcoming album Collide, titled “You Don’t Love Me” featuring Freesia. Collide combines full orchestral sections composed by Grammy award-winning composer Tin and electronic music sections written by TyDi. This unique combination has made Collide one of the most highly anticipated album releases of the new year.

“You Don’t Love Me” skews more orchestral than electronic compared to the first two releases from the album, “Closing In” featuring Dia Frampton and  “Did You Know?” The track opens with sultry piano chords and a melodic orchestral section, both of which lay the framework for Freesia’s vocals. Her vocals build, and the orchestra eventually falls away into subtle electronic chords. The electronic chords then grow into a drop that adds an energetic flair to the beautiful track.

TyDi commented about how writing this track impacted him, and how listening to it still does.

“‘You Don’t Love Me’ is probably one of the most emotional songs I’ve ever had to write. Even once I produced the song, it was killing me to listen to it. But that was a while ago, and looking back, I’m just so stoked that I got it out of my system through music.”

Although three tracks from the album have come out, no official release date of Collide has been announced yet.

tyDi will adopt an orchestral aesthetic on Collide, the forthcoming album that will double as both an early 2018 release and an exposition of tyDi’s foray into an alternative technical approach. The 12-track product seeks to merge electronic and orchestral tones, constructing a “sonic narrative” related via “precise composition, progressive musicality, intelligent sound design, layered songwriting, and grandiose orchestral scoring.” Grammy award winning film composer Christopher Tin assists on the new record’s conceptualization.

The intricate stylistic design of Collide is evidenced in “Did You Know?,” the second single to be released off of the album. The sequel to the first single off of Collide, “Closing In” featuring Dia Frampton, “Did You Know?” layers London Thor’s vocals over a mounting string arrangement that eventually gives way to a subtle electronic background beat. The purity of Thor’s vocals lends a poignancy to the track’s raw lyrical content, earnestly voiced amid orchestral elements that fade out as a thumping yet understated electronic beat builds. The newly released single demonstrates a masterful navigation of both orchestral and electronic elements, indicative of tyDi’s careful handling of both sonic styles.

Australian electronic composer tyDi is readying to release his fifth studio album, Collide, and with it comes yet another reinvention of himself.

The multi-genre producer is no stranger to change. Having got his start in the trance and progressive arena, he’s since explored everything from atmospheric ambient to instrumental, radio-friendly fare. Now, he delves even further into his current songwriting kick with “Closing In” — the first taste he’s provided of his upcoming long player.

“Closing In” is a mellow piece stuffed with optimism. Written alongside Christopher Tin and vocalist Dia Frampton, the track uses sweeping orchestral elements, dramatic chimes, and subdued drops to hit brain in a way that stimulates euphoria. Furthermore, it’s the type of piece whose cinematic nature is so grand and calming that those listening will have their interest piqued as to what else tyDi has in store.

It would appear this notion is accurate thus far, as the song was chosen by Spotify to appear in its “New Music Fridays” playlist.
