Tiësto, Jonas Blue, and Rita Ora strike a pleasing balance on new collaboration, ‘Ritual’Tiesto Jordan Lloyd

Tiësto, Jonas Blue, and Rita Ora are here with their highly anticipated collaboration, “Ritual,” and instead of it being a formulaic pop hit, Blue and Tiësto find a way to combine driving instrumental arrangements and a progressive drop into a crowd-pleasing product that’s fit for club floors and radio airwaves alike. The track was teased by all three artists on their socials earlier in the week leaving fans wondering which direction the trio would go with the release. Jonas Blue is known for his feel-good crossover hits, and the genre of Tiësto’s productions are always a surprise.

“Ritual,” leans on a building melody that features a humming backdrop juxtaposed against Ora’s captivating vocals. The break is a progressive highlight that is bound to find its home on the main stage. “Ritual” will almost certainly be yielding Tiësto, Blue, and Ora their next hit, and the release is out now via Universal Music.

Tiësto and Rita Ora announce forthcoming collaborationTiesto Hakkasan

Tiësto is back with his next high-profile collaboration, linking with Rita Ora for a brand new single. News of the collaboration broke with Rita Ora’s recent announcement on Twitter that she will sing vocals on Tiësto’s next track, “Ritual,” which is produced alongside Jonas Blue. Rita Ora is not new to the electronic music world, having previously been a vocalist for Avicii and Kygo releases.

“Ritual” comes hot off the heels of Tiësto’s recent EP Together, which features a collection of big room and house-leaning releases, as opposed to commercial crossovers.

The “Jackie Chan” producer peaked at 52 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart with his Post Malone collaboration, so it will be interesting to see how Tiësto’s next major pop collaboration unfolds. “Ritual” is set to be released on Friday, May 31 on Universal Music.

Rudimental and Rita Ora converged to support the English drum ‘n’ bass act’s forthcoming album with their new, collaborative single, “Summer Love.”

Lush synths lay a bed for Ora’s sultry vocals to gleam and grow. Rapid drum ‘n’ bass percussion is teased in the first verse, making full descent in time for the hook, which combines elements of pop and breakbeat. The second verse maintains the complex drum arrangement alongside Ora’s full-bodied pipes.

“Summer Love” joins “These Days” featuring Jess Glynne, Macklemore, and Dan Caplen, “Let Me Live” featuring Anne Marie and Mr. Eazi; and “Walk Alone” featuring Tom Walker on Rudimental’s Toast To Our Differences long play set to drop Jan 25. MTV VMAs hit record-low viewership and ratings in 2018Madonna Mtv Vmas

This year’s MTV VMAs viewership numbers dropped to a record low, breaking last year’s figures.

The Aug. 20 MTV Video Music Awards drew only 4.87 million viewers across eight Viacom-owned channels, compared to last year’s 5.36 million. Also plummeting is the awards show’s rating, which garnered only a 2.2 rating among young adults age 18-49. Last’s year’s awards show had a 2.6 rating.

The 2018 VMAs featured performances by Post Malone, Jennifer Lopez, Ariana Grande, and more. While dance music was low in representation this year, Avicii and Rita Ora’s “Lonely Together” won for best dance video. Other notable winners were Childish Gambino for “This Is America,” Cardi B‘s “I Like It,” and “Whatever It Takes” by Imagine Dragons.

Rita Ora breaks down during emotional Avicii tribute

This post was originally published on this site

The news of Avicii‘s untimely death, which has recently been called a suicide by TMZ and Rolling Stone, continues to quiver the global music community. Tim Bergling’s manager, Neil Jacobson, recently spoke on plans for his unreleased music amidst his family’s second released statement alluding to a possible suicide.

Fresh off a sparkling Coachella performance, British singer/actress Rita Ora has now paid tribute to the Swedish-born DJ, where she was seen on camera in a heartbreaking display. The 27-year-old artist choked up on stage before performing their track, “Lonely Together,” for the King’s Day celebration in The Netherlands, addressing her audience,

“It’s gonna be hard for me to sing this next song and I’ll tell you why. I had the honour of collaborating with someone who changed my life and he was a really good friend of mine. I heard some DJs playing some of his music earlier, and I haven’t sang his song that we did together ever since he passed away, until today…I’m obviously talking about the incredible Avicii. We collaborated on the last song that he released together, and so it’s going to be very tough for me to sing this next one. One of my dearest friends and I would really appreciate that.”

Given the revealing nature of the song’s lyrics, the video captures an especially authentic and wounded performance by a close friend.

Alan Walker releases remix of Avicii’s ‘Lonely Together’

This post was originally published on this site

Alan Walker has been a producing powerhouse in 2017. He’s kept up the momentum all year with a range of songs, including remixes, originals and even a rework of his own song. He’s finishing the year on a high note with a powerful, pop-based remix of Avicii and Rita Ora‘s “Lonely Together.”

Walker uses his signature bouncing synths and a clapping pattern to usher in the chorus, where he’s played up the fun elements in the track by using a stutter effect on Ora’s vocals. It’s a lighthearted, breezy rendition of the Avicii track, perfect for bringing warmer vibes to an otherwise chilly season.

The remix package also includes remixes from DJ Licious, Jaded and Dexter.
