Each week, New Music Friday sweeps through with torrential force, showering streaming platforms with immeasurable amounts of new tunes. Just like Dancing Astronaut rounds up 25 of the biggest songs of the week for the Hot 25 Spotify playlist each New Music Friday, Lunar Lunes serves as a landing pad for SoundCloud users who want a whole new dose of tunes to kick off the work week.

As part of ODESZA‘s newest set of A Moment Apart remixes, Chet Porter has put an ethereal spin on album standout, “Line of Sight.” Louis Futon flips James Blake’s “Retrograde” in his newest release, and YehMe2 takes on the Spice Girls’ iconic “Wannabe” in his freshest remix. BIJOU has released some new house heat on Insomniac Records, and Walker & Royce have done the same on HotBoi Records with “Word.” The Knocks reveal the latest to remix a New York Narcotic track: Wankelmut with a funky new take on “Retrograded.” DUCKY thrills with a new EP, and formidable Swarm puts a dark twist on Roniit’s “Visceral.” Dustycloud returns to Tchami‘s CONFESSION imprint with “Reckless,” and Braxton channels nighttime vibes with a new Anjuna release, “When The Sun Goes Down.” Sweekuh taps Love, Alexa and Faze on a new single, “Where Do We Let Go” and R3HAB turns the energy up on Mabel’s “Don’t Call Me Up.”

Dexter’s Beat Laboratory is a weekly collection of songs from DA managing editor Robyn Dexter. With a taste that can only be described as eclectic — to say nothing of a name that lends itself to punnery — DA is happy to present a selection of tracks personally curated by Dexter for your listening pleasure.

It’s a good week for drum & bass. Hospital Records just unleashed a powerful collaboration between veteran producer Danny Byrd and fellow UK artist Ownglow. The two have crafted an infectious drum & bass number, filled to the brim with soulful vocals, enticing builds and an unexpectedly minimalist drop. All aspects of “Just A Step Away” work together brilliantly to result in a slice of drum & bass heaven.

Danish trio We Are The Way For The Cosmos To Know Itself (WATWFTCTKI) have returned with a sugar-sweet synthpop track called “Out of Doubt.” Following their laid-back April original, “Flashbacks,” the group take a more upbeat approach with their newest, incorporating shimmery synths and dreamy vocals. Though they only have a few releases, two have been in the past few months, so hopefully we’ll be hearing more from this talented trio soon.

Fox Stevenson has done it again. I never tire of this man’s seemingly endless talents, as he continuously releases heater after heater. Kicking off his latest with a gritty, rock-oriented introduction, the UK singer/producer dives into a dnb pattern that’s awash with deep, kicking bass sure to lure fans of all areas of dance music. “Bruises” is part of Pilot Records‘ forthcoming Destinations EP, with five tracks from “forward-thinking talents from all corners of drum & bass” like Feint, Ownglow, Vorso and T & Sugah & Bensley.

Voice sound familiar? Alpines vocalist Catherine Pockson is perhaps most known for lending her talents to Sub Focus‘ iconic 2012 track “Tidal Wave,” but she and bandmate Bob Matthews have been busy since then, most recently releasing a Live At Metropolis Studio album last summer. One year later, they’ve released a mysterious single, “Out of View,” via Untrue Records. This new piece of work gives off a dark vibe, highlighted by Pockson’s wistful vocals and a distorted bass.

In February, Bristol’s Standerwick teamed up with songstress Hailene for a heavenly Armind release, “Deep End.” The trance track just received a melodic dubstep rework from Tampa’s Trivecta, and it’s an impeccable re-imagining of an already stellar song. Trivecta taps into the heart and soul of the song and digs deep, pulling at the listener’s heartstrings by emphasizing Hailene’s vocals and a the beautiful melody he’s created.
