CONFESSION deploys house mania in ‘Alchemy VI’ compilationTchami Aurra Shade Ep

For many, 2020 has just started, but Tchami is already making moves. Despite relative silence from his solo camp—his last release single being “Rainforest” in August 2019— the house maven has fully capitalized on label efforts through CONFESSION while curating a synergetic presence within the roster, presentation, and sound. Now, CONFESSION follows on its nearly five-year success with a New Year’s Day release of its sixth compilation, Alchemy VI. The Alchemy compilation joins Loge21‘s Unprocessed LP as CONFESSION’s second compilation drop of the year.

Featuring ten tracks from artists like OMNOM, Get Bad, Jesse Marco, Cave Studio, Marco Marz, and more, the latest Alchemy edition finds a return to sinister tastes and an appreciation for the underground. A nuanced showcase, Alchemy VI entices with some selections that dip in the on-trend tech-house lane, others that play with soulful vocal samples, and some that sport bass house groove—all pervaded by an underlying theme of dark and heavy four-on-the-floor energy.

[Premiere] OMNOM shares bass-dripping Insomniac release with Zendlo, ‘Methane’OMNOM Methane 1

With an already laudable list of label stops (i.e. Dirtybird and House Of Hustle) in 2018 under his arm, OMNOM is picking up the pace yet again with his newest Insomniac collab with LA native, Zendlo, “Methane.” The release comes just before the San Franciscan producer makes a sundry of stops on his spooky-certified October/November agenda, which includes HARD Day Of The Dead, Brooklyn’s Warehouse of Horrors, and SCREAM in Edmonton.

“As a DJ, sometimes you need to play a track with bass fat enough to kick the crowd in their chests, but ‘Methane’ is the track you play when you need to kick them in their genitals,” OMNOM says of the rumbling production.

“Methane” sees OMNOM and Zendlo deliver a heady dose of percolating bass lines and off-the-wall vocal cuts, resulting in a house track best suited for dance floors of an extraterrestrial variety. The production includes both eerily ambient and ricocheting, laser-like synth patterns, as the clapping four-on-the-floor beat solidifies its decisive danceability.

OMNOM formally releases highly-anticipated ID, ‘Fo Free’

OMNOM lays out the rules of engagement in “Fo Free.”

The flippant track finds its formal release just months after the inaugural edition of Dirtybird Campout East, where the then ID arose as one of the most talked about unreleased productions previewed at the Florida based festival.

A veritable house heater that will continue to set dance floors afire, “Fo Free” makes use of a rounded bass line, alien-tech sound effects, and a cheeky monologue voiced by OMNOM himself, all of which collectively situate the release well within the carefree funk of Dirtybird‘s wheelhouse.
