Phoenix is quickly becoming one of electronic music’s favorite New Year’s destinations with Decadence. The festival’s consistent ability to lock in top-tier electronic talent gives party goers a two-day sonic snapshot of the year’s most popular music just ahead of the ball drop. While there’s no snow or skating in sight, Phoenix generally tends to make up for its lack of winter with an unbeatable year-ending Decadence lineup. Now, previously announced headliners Skrillex, Diplo, Illenium, Malaa and Tchami are joined by a final wave of talent that completes this year’s billing.

Dabin and Said The Sky will perform under their joint Dab The Sky banner, GRiZ and Subtronics will perform as Griztronics, and breakout producer Whipped Cream all round out this year’s lineup. Additional firepower comes by way of Night Bass boss AC Slater, Zeds Dead, JOYRYDE, Fisher, and Jamie Jones. Decadence runs December 30 – 31 at Rawhide Events Center. See the full lineup below.

David Guetta will usher in the new year at a Brooklyn warehouse

David Guetta has managed to fit several years’ worth of artistic milestones inside 2018 alone. From releasing his double-sided, eponymously titled 7, to launching a brand new alias, Jack Back, Guetta has dedicated the year to bridging the gap between the club-geared, vintage dance sound that first made him famous over two decades ago, and his pop-centric brand of EDM raving across today’s airwaves.

It’s all-too-appropriate that this New Year’s Eve, Guetta will be spinning at a yet-to-be disclosed warehouse in Brooklyn, along with supporting acts Tom Staar and Weiss. The event will see the two-time Grammy nominee rendezvous with Light & Life, the repeat Guetta partners and NYC-based event brand, which has, over the years, attracted some of the most electric acts in the industry, including Axwell Λ Ingrosso and Disclosure.

This upcoming subterranean backdrop is poised to provide the ideal framework for Guetta to adorn his NYE crowd with the larger-than-life sound that has kept fans so very much in awe of the Frenchman over the years.

With the release of Decadence‘s phase two line up, it seems Arizona’s vast canyons and deserts will be even more lush with sound. Relentless Beats have locked down Moon Boots, Valentino Khan, Green Velvet, Anti Up, and more for their New Year’s jubilee — a true cause of elation for those who bathe in the bass of techno and house.

Arizona’s “Biggest New Year’s Eve Experience” also released single day lineups and tickets with the announcement of phase two. Above & Beyond, REZZPorter Robinson, San Holo, Skrillex and more will perform on December 30. 4B, Eric Prydz, Paz, Green
Velvet and more will take on the final hours of 2018 on December 31.

Along with the phase two announcement comes another fascinating prospect — one of chance and charity. Relentless Beats have made fans aware of their philanthropy initiative with Surreal, a fundraising platform that offers fans to experience once-in-a-lifetime opportunities with artists. For Decadence, fans will have the chance to throw tacos on stage with Paz, meet Marshmello, even get dunked on by Shaq.

The winner of each category will also receive free airfare, VIP tickets, free hotel accommodations, and, of course, a wild story to take home with them. All the proceeds from the campaign will go to Childhelp, a national nonprofit organization with the purpose to meet the physical, spiritual, educational, and emotional needs of abused, maltreated, at-risk kids. The contest runs through December 18, and given the size of the festival and artists performing, the benefits of the campaign have to potential to mirror the elation that is sure to be experienced for the festival-goers at Decadence.

Following a successful All Hallow’s Eve event, Minimal Effort will once again take the reigns at downtown LA’s Belasco Theater on December 31. In its four year run, the event series has made a notable dent in LA’s underground club scene, holding events bi-annually on Halloween and New Years Eve. Their All Hallow’s Eve event proved nothing short of spectacular, with a headlining set from Boys Noize and support from Louisahhh, WhoMadeWho, Audiofly, and others, who tore up Belasco’s main room.

To ring in 2019, Minimal Effort will bring famed international artists to the spacious, ornate theater, including Grammy-nominated Sasha, English producer Skream, house connoisseur Will Clarke, one of DIRTYBIRD’s crowned jewels Justin Jay, and many more. In addition to its performers, The Belasco’s multiple stage atmospheres, lounge areas, live art, and stationed local vendors make it the perfect destination for celebrating the New Year.

Residents of Southern California have been invited for a one-of-a-kind New Year’s Eve gathering alongside the coast with ILLENIUM. Touching down in Huntington beach, fans of melodic strains bass can watch one of the genre’s greatest new talents output an unforgettable set that will start 2019 off on a good note. A to-be-announced special guest will be joining in on the festivities, which are organized by The Phantom PRJKT

Organizers of this party — which will also be all-white themed to amplify the atmosphere — made sure attendees are set with everything they need to ensure an ideal experience. Chilly temperatures come to mind when thinking about the beach at winter; however, the weather is no match for the heated tent or the non-stop movement that will inevitably occur at the hands of ILLENIUM and his co-performer. This ensures utmost enjoyment of the music, pleasantly set in a scenic beach backdrop.

Skrillex booked for double duty New Year’s Eve festivals

Skrillex booked for double duty New Year’s Eve festivalsSkrille NYE 1

These days, a Skrillex set is hard to come by. However, this New Year’s Eve, fans will help him ring in 2019 at not only the previously-announced Snowta in Minneapolis, but at Arizona’s most coveted NYE experience, Decadence the day before.

Skrillex is no stranger to Decadence, either. He and Diplo closed out the fest in 2015 together in the height of their short-lived stint as Jack Ü. This year, Skrilly will join Porter Robinson as Decadence co-headliners to be announced thus far.

While the rest of the lineup for Decadence has yet to be announced, previously-booked acts have included Kaskade, deadmau5, Disclosure. Needless to say, the event is an inexorable can’t-miss for Arizonian EDM enthusiasts.

Decadence will be held December 30-31. Tickets are available now.

Bassnectar responds to fans’ complaints about Atlanta New Year’s Eve show

This post was originally published on this site

For more than 21,000 people, New Year’s Eve plans included hundreds of watts of bass, and at the center of the 808, Bassnectar. The sold out event attracted a massive crowd to Atlanta’s Georgia World Congress Center, where Nectar fans from near and far convened to catch the electronic expert’s set, the bridge between 2017 and the new year. Despite Bassnectar’s presentation of a set exceeding two-hours in length, some fans felt that they’d encountered a pit in the “Peach State.”

Although billed as the Bassnectar camp’s “most special event to date” by the event’s marketing team, fans lamented long lines to enter the venue, an alleged lack of organization regarding water station arrangement, set lists, the aggressive behavior of fellow fans, and overcrowded medical tents. “In the medical tent, I had never seen so many people seizuring and acting in manners that led me to fear that they were knocking on death’s door,” writes RedPilledRanger on r/bassnectar. “The crowd was rude, the lines were sh*t, we didn’t get much Bassnectar music, and drugs f*cked people up again,” wrote LeftyBackhands.

Bassnectar and his team have since responded to the Internet supported outrage regarding the New Year’s Eve event, inviting attendees to send “constructive” feedback that could be pivotal in the production of future Bassnectar branded events to feedback@bassnectar.net. The statement acknowledges and deems the long entry lines as problematic, but suggests this was a “reality check for all events in the future.”

“There will be thorough security checks everywhere,” the Bassnectar camp writes, citing national shootings as a catalyst in the institution of extended security procedures. The message additionally elaborates on complaints surrounding water stations and general health and safety conduct.

The full message features a note from Bassnectar himself, the artist thanking attendees and promising “as short of lines as possible” at his Spring Gathering in Chicago in March.
