deadmau5 reveals a secret track and releases the music video for ‘10.8’ with Mr. Bill [WATCH]Deadmau5 Mr Bill

Techies and programming junkies who follow deadmau5 on Twitch follow the legend as he plays video games and dives into various creation workstations are often given an in-depth peak into his thought process. Sometimes, the mau5trap head honcho reveals production releases, which is exactly the case with his most recent stream. A secret track he made with streamer dronehands, “The Horn Of Jericho,” was revealed, of which deadmau5 reported to have contributed to around half the project — namely, the melody and synth design.

The orchestral low-end bass creates a bed for the high end plucks to go wild, while the percussion offers a more consistent energy. It’s certainly a different side to Joel Zimmerman more percussive arrangements, experimenting with melody structure and patchwork elements.

In other deadmau5 news, he recently released the music video for “10.8” with Mr. Bill off his mau5ville: Level 2 project. It’s an animated, computerized video of organized chaos, contrasting sublimely alongside the complex percussion audio. A busy start to 2019 for sure in Zimmerman’s world, whose debut score is also set to hit Netflix on January 25 in the film, Polar.

Each week, New Music Friday sweeps through with torrential force, showering streaming platforms with immeasurable amounts of new tunes. Just like Dancing Astronaut rounds up 25 of the biggest songs of the week for the Hot 25 Spotify playlist each New Music Friday, Lunar Lunes serves as a landing pad for SoundCloud users who want a whole new dose of tunes to kick off the work week.

RÜFÜS DU SOL lead off volume three of the Solace remixes with a gorgeously atmospheric take on “Lost in My Mind” from Icarus. Prince Fox continues his string of recent releases with “Rock Paper Scissors,” and Approaching Nirvana returns with the emotive and melodic “Lost The Signal” with Cara Leigh. Summer Was Fun brings Lil Dweeb aboard for “Simple,” and Oliverse returns to Disciple for a formidable dubstep track, “Somethin Good.” Adventure Club tackle Underoath‘s “Some Will Seek Forgiveness, Others Escape” in a new remix. Fytch takes on DROELOE‘s “Step By Step” in the duo’s new remix package for The Choices We Face. Shaun Frank wraps up 2018 with a groovy house tune on Spinnin’ Records, “Shapes.”

The selection is updated every Lunes (Monday).

2018 is certainly a good year to be a deadmau5 fan. After releasing his orchestral cover album, where’s the drop?, and the collaborative mau5trap-focused project, mau5ville: Level 1, the production extraordinaire has put out the next iteration of the mau5ville series, mau5ville: Level 2.

Providing an array of originals and remixes, deadmau5 taps his mau5trap family and some special guests on this new project. He starts off with a feature from fellow Canadian vocalist, Lights, on “Drama Free.” The dark and pulsing track is then given the UK bassline treatment by longtime deadmau5 remixer Chris Lorenzo. Followed by the experimental downtempo piece, “10.8,” with Mr. Bill, deadmau5 shows the true diversity in his production skillset. With both mau5trap veteran Monstergetdown and newcomer Gallya partaking in collaborations and remixes to close out the project, mau5ville: Level 2 is a testament to the deadmau5’s ability to break new talent while providing solid releases from mau5trap’s current roster.
