Porter Robinson‘s elusive new alter ego, Virtual Self,  has been the subject of meticulous speculation since its inception in late 2017. Exponentially more fans will soon become acquainted, as Robinson is set to take his new project to major festivals such as Buku, Ultra, Bonnaroo and EDC this year.

Now, Virtual Self has returned with an enthralling 5 minute minimix on Annie Mac‘s BBC Radio 1 broadcast. Thirteen tracks deep, the mix moves in and out of tracks faster than listeners can blink. Whether its the inclusion of Burial‘s seminal “Temple Sleeper,” Pryda‘s progressive house tune “Stay With Me,” or Virtual Self’s own “Ghost Voices,” the mix effectively hits on a diverse soundscape nearly
effortlessly.

Shlohmo fashions smooth new mix, ‘For Tha Summer’

This post was originally published on this site

Illustrious indie hip-hop producer Shlohmo has provided his followers with a gift to celebrate Summer’s arrival: a 30-minute minimix packed with brand new edits. He takes on a multitude of singles that have been all over the radio the past year, including Future’s “Mask Off” and “Black Beatles” by Rae Sremmurd, and transforms them into his smooth brand of bass.

Each piece flows perfectly into the next, creating a dreamy and well-crafted mix whose mellow nature indeed fits the season it was made for. Hopefully, the remixes played out during the mix will be seeing official releases in the near future.

Sam Feldt delivers his sounds of summer with exclusive Splash House minimix

This post was originally published on this site

Sam Feldt has been at the forefront of the tropical house movement since the genre’s inception back in 2013. With a knack for glowing melodies and beats-of-paradise, the Dutch producer has stuck to his mantra of creating mellow, poolside offerings instead of the main stage-ready sounds many of his fellow countrymen have embraced in the past.

Ahead of Palm Springs’ Splash House festival, Sam Feldt takes Dancing Astronaut‘s listeners through a short but sweet trove of tropical treasures he will be spinning at the event and throughout the summer. Opening with his new collaboration “Fade Away” with Lush & Simon, Feldt taps Spinnin‘ colleagues LVNDSCAPE and Redondo for two of the nine cuts in the mix along with sunny favorites from Autograf and Tom Budin. Celebrate Throwback Thursday with a formidable Bassnectar mix from 2012

This post was originally published on this site

Roughly two decades have passed since Bassnectar began his career, yet his impact and leadership within the electronic community has proven to be timeless. Lorin Ashton released his twelfth album last year, alongside his supplemental successes of transforming Bass Center into a two-day festival and becoming an official Electric Forest resident.

Keen Redditors have dug deep into Ashton’s archives to unearth a mini-mix from 2012. Featuring an array of classic original tracks and remixes from the bass lord himself, including “Freestyle,” “Infinite,” and more, each minute of the mix provides a stimulating and well-engineered listening experience that further proves Bassnectar’s abilities in creating tracks that retain their glimmer through time.

Listen to deadmau5’s official ‘W:/2016ALBUM/’ minimix

This post was originally published on this site

In 2016, Joel Zimmerman, aka deadmau5, has been treating his dedicated fanbase well — from his B2B live set with Eric Prydz, to a“Strobe” remix EPnew collaborations, and much more.

There’s something to be said for successful artists letting fans in on the creative process, which deadmau5 has done more of this year than ever before. Spontaneous SoundCloud uploads aplenty — many of which eventually found their way onto the album — as well as his Twitch streams, Razer tutorials, and a number of other videos have provided glimpses into some of the processes that have made him the icon that he is today. In fact, it was his fans, during a Twitch stream, who suggested that the server location where the album was held should be used as its official title.

Zimmerman has put together a new minimix to preview each track off of W:/2016ALBUM, providing a clear view into the overall sound of the album. Although each track is played for less than a minute, fans have expectedly been responding overtly positively. Every track has Zimmerman’s signature touch, and along with the more classic deadmau5 sound heard in “Saved” and “4ware,” there is a range of sophisticated new sounds and feelings that prove his experimentation with darker themes, retro sounds, and breakbeat rhythms over the past few years has paid off.

W:/2016ALBUM can be pre-ordered here.
