It’s been a few years since the world has had new Tut Tut Child material. The artist has been mainly working on a side project, Forest Knot, since mid-2018, and prior to that, there hadn’t been a Tut Tut Child release since 2017. The London-based artist has broken his silence, though, with the release of his Pantheon EP, out now on Extreme Music. Its title track is a dramatic melodic journey and is sure to thrill fans of his previous works, as well as newcomers.

Rameses B, too, has a new compilation out Nov. 1. The Liquicity Records Eden EP showcases the artist’s strong command of the liquid drum ‘n’ bass realm, and he praised the label in a tweet announcing the EP, saying “it’s only natural to have this kind of release with them, liquid, emotional and something that represents all the good times.”

For Flite‘s latest venture, he reworked Jon Hopkins‘ 2018 track, “Emerald Rush.” He’s flipped the style into something new, and it’s completely captivating. “I absolutely LOVE Jon Hopkins’ music, he is such an influence on my own tunes,” Flite said in the track’s description. “I decided I would try and rework ‘Emerald Rush’ into a drum ‘n’ bass track. So much respect for his compositions, I hope I have done him justice.” 

The drum ‘n’ bass continues with Mazare and Philip Strand’s “Battlecry,” which debuted this week via Monstercat. Strand’s powerful vocals set the scene for the epic battle that about to take place, leading the listener into a dramatic build. Mazare’s fierce production takes over at the drop, packing a hefty drum ‘n’ bass punch.

Virtual Riot can make whatever he wants forever. The multi-faceted producer excels at whatever genre he’s producing, and for his newest, he returns to glitch-hop to play… Mario? “Bossfight Afterparty” is a brilliant three-minute combination of video game blips and bloops, polished with undeniably precise production. Your move, Bowser.

A new set of remixes of The Midnight draws near. The Midnight Remixed 02 arrives on Silk Music on Sept. 27, previewed by this exceptional rework of “Shadows” by Uppermost. The French producer bathes the duo’s original in light, bringing it out of the, erm, shadows, to give it a blissful new tone.

Grum‘s latest Anjunabeats venture is a rework of Luminary‘s “Amsterdam.” The four-minute introspective piece is saturated with emotive trance goodness, composed of dreamlike synths, accented melodies, and drifting vocals. It’s dramatic and infectious.

We’re just a week shy of Moon Boots‘ new album, Bimini Road, and the producer continues to drop hints of what fans can expect from his second studio album. Moon Boots taps vocalist Nic Hanson for “Clear,” crafting a clean-cut, soulful atmosphere, with a dance floor-ready beat.

Dabin and Essenger‘s original “Home” tugged at listeners’ heartstrings all around the world upon its initial release. Now, with Dabin’s Wild Youth (The Remixes) compilation making its debut, fans can experience songs like “Home” in a new light, thanks to talented producers like Mazare, who adds a whole new layer to the emotive core of the tune.

On Aug. 30, Danny Howard relaunched his Nothing Else Matters imprint and celebrated with the release of a new song: “If You Were” with Eli & Fur. This six-minute house heater is the perfect combination of sultry vocals and irresistible beats.

It’s most important day of the week: New Music Friday. With the overwhelming amount of tunes hitting the airwaves today, Dancing Astronaut has you covered with the latest edition of The Hot 25.

Skrillex kicks off the weekend with a stacked collaboration, “Malokera,” with MC Lan, TroyBoi, Ludmilla, and Ty Dolla $ign. Alison Wonderland and QUIX have teamed up for “TIME,” and Louis The Child and Wrabel deliver a bittersweet joint effort called “Too Close.” CRAY brings a retro tone to her latest, “idontwannatalkaboutlove,” and The Knocks continue their summer releases with “Colors.” Cashmere Cat is full of “EMOTIONS” on his newest, and Good Times Ahead (formerly GTA) get with Flosstradamus for “Waffle House.” Cedric Gervais remixes DJ Snake, J Balvin, and Tyga’s “Loco Contigo,” and Mazare and Essenger turn it up to 11 on their new Monstercat single, “Berzerker.” The Chrises got in the studio for a new Anti Up single, “Right Now,” and Alok and Zafrir bring “Vale Vale” to listeners’ ears. HEYZ previews his new Bite This! album with “Castaway King,” and Valentino Khan drops off his new EP, stacked with songs like “BRB.” Fedde Le Grand puts his own touch on Matoma, MNEK, and Kiana Lede’s “Bruised Not Broken,” and Herobust preps for the weekend with “Dumb Lit.”

As each week brings a succession of new music from some of electronic music’s biggest artists, here’s a selection of tracks that shouldn’t be missed this NMF.

Bishu‘s sixth Monstercat single comes at the listener swinging. He taps songstress Mister Blonde on the anthemic “Get To Know Me,” a booming future bass track that’s refreshing in a genre saturated with repeated sounds. Just like in last spring’s “Machine,” Mister Blonde’s sultry vocals again complement Bishu’s production perfectly, as she leads the listener up to a booming drop. “Get To Know Me” is part of the Canadian producer’s forthcoming debut EP, The Hali 2 Cali EP.

Since bursting onto the scene just two years ago, Midnight Kids have garnered support from some of the industry’s biggest names. From massive remixes to their debut original last June, this duo has shown no signs of slowing down—particularly with their newest remix: Porter Robinson‘s iconic 2010 “Say My Name.” Hardcore Robinson fans might be a bit wary of any remix of this notable track, but Midnight Kids have done it justice by focusing on the melodies and playing up the emotive aspects of the track. “Porter Robinson changed the way we look at making music,” Midnight Kids noted in their song description. “Without this record coming out things could have been different for us.”

I was obsessed with The McMash Clan’s swing-oriented moombahcore “Swing Break” in 2013 but had a hard time finding any other tunes that incorporated a swing element as flawlessly as that one. When I found out Teminite and Swing’it Dixieband had teamed up for a funky electro-swing track called “Party Like it’s 1923,” I was thrilled. Straight out of a Great Gatsby scene, this track employs bold horns, a swinging electro beat, and retro vocals for an overall classy and brassy aura. Teminite continues to demonstrate his versatility as a producer, giving fans the collaboration they never knew they needed.

Mazare returns to Monstercat after his October remix of Hailene with a gorgeously emotive collaboration with vocalist RUNN. The Italian artist also recently created an otherworldly drum & bass remix for Seven Lions and only continues to improve with each new piece of work. This new top-notch single has fans raving about the impeccable blend of RUNN’s flawless vocals and Mazare’s meticulous production—and rightly so. It’s one of the most blissful pieces of music to hit the Monstercat airwaves so far this year.

UKF has been showcasing some exceptional music so far in 2019, the latest of which is a collaboration of two drum & bass powerhouse acts: Hybrid Minds and Koven. Koven member Katie Boyle’s voice positively drips with emotion in this piano-fueled drum & bass number. It’s a vulnerable piece, and though the track is backed by a racing beat, it maintains an ethereal, wistful atmosphere the whole way through. The artists’ passion for their art form is raw and unguarded in “In Your Arms,” and it’s beautiful to experience.

Seven Lions is a master at building cinematic, picturesque soundscapes. When “Dreamin’” with Fiora came out in July, listeners were enraptured with the blissful beauty of the vocals layered over Seven Lions’ production. The artist just revealed a three-track set of remixes for the track, featuring a drum & bass take by Mazare, a trance remix by Sunny Lax, and melodic dubstep version by Last Heroes. While each one brings something refreshing to the table, Mazare’s drum & bass rendition is particularly entrancing. It’s subtle but strong — my favorite kind of music.


QUIX continues his consistent release schedule with a future bass-meets-trap power piece with Jaden Michaels. The contrast in this track is  jarring — but in a good way. While Michaels’ vocals can be tender at times, she amps up the power in sync with QUIX, who builds into a series of gut-punching drops over the course of the song. This was intentional. “I especially wanted this track to be remembered  for having a powerful first drop and a hard second drop,” he notes in the track’s description.


Hunter Siegel has been churning out a series of genre-spanning tracks this year, ranging in classification from hip-hop to house to electro. His latest, though, dives deep into the bass house realm. He teams up with Seelo for a searing bass-backed heater called “12 Gauge” on Zeds Dead‘s Deadbeats imprint. With feisty vocals and an overpowering dosage of bass, these two have crafted a short but engaging piece of work, encouraging a late-night dance floor fiend to “pump ya body like 12 gauge shotty.”

Talk about a talented trio of artists. Bearson links up with Lemaitre and josh pan for this stunning original, “It’s Not This.” Though seemingly simple, this laid-back track is backed by crisp production, a mellow beat, and a moving melody. Though summer ends officially tomorrow, songs like “It’s Not This” show the timeless quality of sun-soaked rhythms and vocals.


Dutch downtempo producer Allay just released an ethereal collection of tracks, Journey Of The Velvet Adorned Nomad. As mystical-sounding as the LP title, Allay delivers “Adrift In the Borderless Sea” with Rod V. This six-minute venture is ushered in by a saintly set of synths that crescendo into a haunting melody. Its enigmatic qualities draw the listener in immediately, leading them into a song that’s rich in light percussion and lush piano themes.
