A seasoned cast of collaborators stand behind “Left Right.” Hardwell, Deorro, and MAKJ convene on the festival-primed production, which sources its hype-inducing voiceover from the iconic vocal chords of none other than Fatboy Slim. The trio’s purpose is apparent from just one play: galvanize party rockers to put their hands in the air. Then, get them to follow the “left,” “right” directives of the thunderous cut.
“Left Right’s” anthemic framework, verbal commands, and resounding, bass-boosted drops channel classic festival sound. It’s by Hardwell, Deorro, and MAKJ’s deliberate high-octane design that “Left Right” materializes as a pounding stomper that lends itself almost too easily to live set inclusion.

As each week brings a succession of new music from some of electronic music’s biggest artists, here’s a selection of tracks that shouldn’t be missed this NMF.
In an unlikely but welcome combination of forces, Steve Aoki has teamed up with MAKJ and Showtek for new release “Rave,” featuring London-based vocalist Kris Kiss.
The track’s drop is the ultimate blend of Showtek’s resounding big room energy that’s known to draw massive numbers on the festival front, while MAKJ and Aoki’s influences are apparent with the kicking crossover melody. Featured vocalist Kris Kiss serves up the track’s terse call to action: “We’re here to fucking rave.”
“…Super fun, super rowdy, this record is for our community, our world,” Aoki says of his intention for the track. “It’s for us all to let loose, go crazy and rave. I’ve wanted to make a song like this for a while and it made the most sense with Showtek and MAKJ and the vocal stylings from Kris Kiss.”

Quintino, Deorro, and MAKJ make for one tenacious trio on “Knockout,” a high octane offering rife with the rolling bass and energetic electro elements that collectively constitute Melbourne Bounce sound.
‘Bounce’ “Knockout” does, and ‘bounce’ from decks to dance floors the song certainly shall. The song’s reverberating basslines and looping vocal overlays revel as the clear standout accents of the single, embellishments that only further amplify the song’s adrenaline-spiking quality.
“Knockout” illustrates that there’s simply no such thing as a tempered release from the combined Quintino, Deorro, and MAKJ camp, doing so with an almost palpable intensity.
“Shakalaka” is the collective product of powerhouse producers Steve Aoki, Deorro, MAKJ, and Max Styler. An energetic, big room buildup and psy trance-inspired bassline lead into a Mariachi-tinged breakdown that implies Deorro’s Latin touch, before dropping into a colossal explosion of sound purposed to shake the dancefloor. With a powerful kick and wide stereo imaging, the track’s appeal stretches wide, showing signs of becoming a main stage anthem.
The writers behind “Shakalaka” are as big as the production itself. All four are consistently booked at festivals ranging from Ultra and Coachella, and have each clocked in a fair amount of hits under their own belts as well — a couple recent ones being Deorro’s “Bailar,” and Aoki’s venture with Little Yachty and AJR, “Pretender.”
