Everyone’s favorite cool uncle, Dillon Francis, dropped the music video for his single, “Change Your Mind,” featuring iHeart Radio’s Best New Alternative Rock Artist of the year, lovelytheband.

The video showcases the 34th annual Pro Darts Tournament of the Flowers on PBSPN with professional host-with-the-most Rick Jambles (played by Francis) and his best friend and former pro-dart champion, Jackie D (played by Alison Becker) commentating. Dirk Duckland (Jimmy Tatro) and Maddie Gilmoore (Anna Akana) face off in an intense dart battle that takes a dark turn with a light upside. The music video was directed by Brandon Dermer whose worked with Panic! At The Disco, Diplo, and Steve Aoki.

After headlining Coachella and bringing lovelytheband on stage as a surprise guest, Francis announced a partnership with 20th Century Fox Television for an animated comedy series called Gerald’s World, based off his lovable piñata best friend and social media superstar.

Over the past decade, Dillon Francis has been somewhat of a fixture at the Sahara tent. Since making his Coachella debut in 2013, the impish moombahton mainstay has been a premier attraction at the festival’s rowdiest stage in 2014, 2017, and now, 2019.

To celebrate the milestone of his fourth Coachella appearance, he laced his energetic, primetime set with notable guest appearances from some of his choice collaborators. In addition to inviting DJ Snake to join him onstage for their hit, “Get Low,” Francis temporarily veered attention away from the decks, as lovelytheband came onstage to perform their recent joint single, “Change Your Mind.”

In an Instagram album recapping the set, Francis succinctly expressed how emotional the experience was for him, further engendering excitement regarding what’s in store for Coachella’s second weekend.

Dillon Francis will play Coachella’s Sahara tent from 9:35-10:35 PM on Sunday, April 21.

Dillon Francis has dropped a new single, “Change Your Mind,” featuring iHeart Radio‘s Best New Alternative Rock Artist of the year, lovelytheband. After securing Latin Grammy and Latin American Music Awards nominations late last year for “Sexo” from his sophomore WUT WUT LP, Francis touched R&B with his bilingual “Fix Me” alongside Cuco. Now, the producer known for popularizing moombahton is expanding his repertoire into the indie-rock space.

“I’m truly so excited about this new song with lovelytheband,” Francis said in a release. “We have been keeping this song a secret for a long time and FINALLY we get to let the world hear it!!!!”

After traveling with Alison Wonderland on their co-headlining Lost My Mind tour, Francis is looking toward his headlining Coachella Music Festival performance. “Change Your Mind” provides a nice lead into festival season for the festival-seasoned veteran.

It’s most important day of the week: New Music Friday. With the overwhelming amount of tunes hitting the airwaves today, Dancing Astronaut has you covered with the latest edition of The Hot 25.

It’s been more than five years since the music world has seen new music from Skrillex and Boys Noize‘s supergroup, Dog Blood, but that wait is finally over with “Turn Off The Lights.” Dillon Francis joins forces with lovelytheband for a, well, lovely collaboration called “Change Your Mind.” Armin van Buuren, Lucas & Steve, and Josh Cumbee deliver a feel-good number by the name of “Don’t Give Up On Me,” and Nicky Romero, DallasK, and XYLØ create a contemplative, low-key collaboration, “Sometimes.” Whethan and Bearson have crafted an effortlessly groovy “Win You Over” with SOAK, and Seven Lions and Kill The Noise take things up a notch with the formidable “The Blood.” Bassnectar reveals his Reflective Part Four EP is on its way with “Illusion,” and Kove keeps his brand of drum & bass subtle and smooth with “Echoes.” Jai Wolf and Dresage come together in “Better Apart,” and NGHTMRE and A$AP Ferg make a powerful pair in “REDLIGHT.” Sam Feldt brings summer a few months early with “One Day” with ROZES and Yves V, and Zomboy brings “The Beast” with his new single. The Chainsmokers prep for their new album with “Kills You Slowly,” and Mielo releases his Anywhere But Here EP, featuring a closing song of the same title.

As each week brings a succession of new music from some of electronic music’s biggest artists, here’s a selection of tracks that shouldn’t be missed this NMF.
