Declaring Red Rocks their favorite venue, Louis the Child have announced their third annual headlining show at the iconic Colorado amphitheater with support from What So Not, Elderbrook, and Memba.

The Aug. 27 show comes after the Here For Now 2020 tour, and will be one of the last performances by What So Not before the producer’s indefinite hiatus. On Instagram live, Robbie Hauldren of the Chicago duo explained he loves the venue because it is the “only place we’re able to look up at the crowd.”

Hauldren went on to discuss collaborations and inspiration for their upcoming, which he said involved “building off” what is going on in the group’s lives. He went into detail about new music with San Holo and K. Flay, saying he “loved San Holo’s setup” with the wide variety of synthesizers. While he was clear to mention their K. Flay collab has no connection to their previous work, “It’s Strange,” Hauldren described as a song that will hit listeners “right in the feels.”

The producer spoke about writing the lyrics to “Don’t Mind” with Lauv, who was an opening artist on their Last to Leave tour in 2017. While vocals from frequent Lauv collaborator and fellow songwriter Michael Pollack were originally on the single, ultimately the duo decided to only feature their own vocals. Both members of the group sang the chorus, with Freddy Kennet singing the first verse and Hauldren the second.

Responding to a viewer’s question, Hauldren mentioned that the group will be announcing future plans for a return to New York City later this year. Late Thursday evening, Louis the Child’s twitter alluded to a possible announcement for the NYC show coming on Feb. 7.

Lauv – Getting Over You (R3HAB remix)

Lauv‘s lyrical expedition of heartbreak, “Getting Over You” is the latest production to go to R3HAB.

The Dutch DJ sources the sonic silver lining in Lauv’s confessional single, weaving uplifting tropical tones among Lauv’s smooth verses. An island-infused chord progression contributes to the remix’s tonal metamorphosis; whereas Lauv’s slow tempo original reflectively revels in a moody melancholy, R3HAB’s rework is an uplifting take that paradoxically renders breaking up a sun soaked, effortless endeavor.
