Ekali recruits Kiiara for third single from forthcoming album, ‘Back To You’Ekali Awakening Mi Vol 6

Ekali‘s arsenal of unreleased music shrank just slightly with the release of “Back To You.” The single hails from the producer’s upcoming debut album, led by the Reo Cragun-assisted “Runaway” and the emotive Wafia feature, “Be Fine.” With “Back To You,” the LP’s cast of vocal collaborators expands to newly encompass Kiiara.

Her inimitable soprano is the sonic cherry atop the synth and bass guided stagger of “Back To You’s” rhythmic arrangement. Bright chords shimmer at the break downs, complementing the breathy ascendance of Kiiara’s vocal and creating tonal contrast with the anchored bass.

“Back To You” was but one of the releases that Ekali promised fans in a tweet published on October 23. Next up will be Ekali’s highly sought collaboration with ILLENIUM, “Hard To Say Goodbye,” followed by the formal announcement of his A World Away tour and a merch line.

It has been more than a year since Kygo descended upon NYC, selling out Barclays Center in May of 2018. Though for his upcoming return to the Big Apple this summer, he’s pulling out all the stops for a production unlike anything the tropical hit-maker has ever done before. Kygo will debut a new live concept, UTOPIA, on June 30 at one of New York’s largest venues, the Jacob Javits Center.

Kygo has commanded some prestigious stage moments in the past, from his performance at the Nobel Peace Prize presentation in 2015 to the Olympics closing ceremony in Rio de Janeiro, though UTOPIA looks primed to outdo them all. The event’s supporting cast includes a full orchestra, as well as performances by Cirque du Soleil, Kiiara, Jhart, Danny Verde, Leomeo, and more special guests.

Pre-sale registration is open now and tickets officially go on sale on Monday, June 10th at KygoNYC.com. Those that register for pre-sale will be entered into a drawing to win artist passes and a meet and greet with the “It Aint Me” producer ahead of the show. Best of all, the net proceeds from UTOPIA will benefit charities Stonewall Gives Back Initiative, LIFEBeat, and Trevor Project.

Register for pre-sale tickets to Kygo’s UTOPIA here.

Steve Aoki and Nicky Romero have chart topping potential with new Kiiara collaboration ‘Be Somebody’Be Somebody Press Shot

Nicky Romero and Steve Aoki could have their next radio hit on their hands, enlisting Kiiara as the featured vocalist on their new collaborative single, “Be Somebody.” Ahead of the pair’s new track together, the Protocol label head and his Dim Mak counterpart swapped two remixes a piece on “Lie To Me” and “Me On You” respectively. Both Romero and Aoki have been leaning heavily into the pop world, and collaborations with the likes of Taio Cruz, Lil Yachty, and Louis Tomlinson between the two of them have propelled both artists into major mainstream appeal throughout 2018. This duo was bound to come together at some point, and Kiiara seemed like the perfect link to bridge the gap.

Fans may have expected a straight forward pop track, but the single features a strong house backdrop with intriguing soca-inspired accents supporting Kiiara’s vocals. While formulaic at times, the new collaboration is undoubtedly catchy as ever showcasing both producers’ knack for radio-worthy products. “Be Somebody” is out now on Ultra Records.

Sweater Beats treats Kiiara’s ‘Messy’ to an infectious new remix

Sweater Beats treats Kiiara’s ‘Messy’ to an infectious new remixSweater Beats Press Photo 2

Social media makes it easy to see when artists are friends, but when artists are actually big fans of one another — not as much. Insights into artists’ real personal rotations aren’t always as publicly accessible to fans, though artists like Sweater Beats still manage to show love to their favorite musical talents, and this time, it’s with actual music.

Dropping off an addicting new remix of Kiiara’s hit “Messy,” the Los Angeles-based producer detailed how he gushed when he first heard the track and was immediately set on showing his admiration for it by doing a remix of his own. After Sweater Beats finished his spin on “Messy,” he messaged Kiiara to demonstrate his respect and she asked him to release it as soon as he could too. With one listen it’s easy to hear the love that went into this remix — a claim Kiiara herself experienced as well. It’s dynamic in its intimacy, seamless in its incorporation of Kiiara’s vocals, and showcases what Sweater Beats is really digging on his new production.

Jauz and Kiiara pair up on the stunning “Diamonds”

Jauz

Once upon a time, the name Jauz would have automatically brought thoughts of gritty synths and heavy bass, but Sam Vogel has proven his versatility and unending ability to live his mantra that “music has no boundaries.” With numerous collaborations with electronic powerhouses such as DJ Snake and Marshmello, Jauz has left his mark and continues to tell his story.

This chapter starts as a collaboration with the multi-platinum artist Kiiara, that has riddled a multitude of tracks with her whimsical sound that she conquers with ease. “Diamonds” stays minimal and leans on the more chill side of Jauz’s productions, ladened with vibrantly warm plucks and expertly produced percussion.

If this is any indication of what his 17-track album will sound like, the release date just can’t come soon enough.

DUCKY unleashes a new bootleg of Jai Wolf’s take on Kiiara’s ‘Feels’ [Free Download]

This post was originally published on this site

DUCKY has steadily released a string of singles that are causing ripples across the electronic music scene. The force behind her hypnotic warehouse-style productions is a sonic blend of melodic dubstep, future bass, and happy hardcore; and how she infuses each track with a unique energy from her deep love of rave culture.

The San Francisco-bred, Los Angeles-based producer has now made a statement as she takes a swing at Jai Wolf‘s remix of “Feels” by Kiiara. While doing well to hold onto Jai Wolf’s use of raw emotionality and melodic vocal chops, DUCKY speeds up the tempo of the track all the way up to the song’s first dub-inspired drop — here is where DUCKY’s production skills shine with heavy electric guitar synths and stabbing breaks. The short bootleg is the perfect addition to anyone’s pre-party playlist.

The track is also available for free download.
