Coming off another preeminent performance at Red Rocks Amphitheater this weekend, ODESZA just won’t stop showering their familial fan base with love. The Seattle-based electronic duo have now released a 6-track remix EP of their soulful single, “Across The Room” ft. Leon Bridges. The remix pack includes a soothing, ethereal rendition from Tycho, a left-field experimental take from Canadian newcomer Yung Heat, a shiny and shimmering remix from AbJo, and a two cuts from K-pop producer Durante.
Each contributor has done well at making the original completely their own, while maintaining its emotive integrity.
It’s probably safe to assume that when Paul Simon began to achieve fame and critical acclaim as a part of the duo Simon & Garfunkel, he’d never anticipated he might someday release an electronic tribute album. But alas, that day has come.
Simon’s Grammy award-winning 1986 album, Graceland, has been re-imagined by several of dance music’s superstars.
Though just five tastes of the album are available at the moment, as Graceland – The Remixes doesn’t officially land on Legacy/Sony until June, the glimpses into the record shine a new light on the artist’s folk and pop-rock sensibilities as Joris Voorn, Thievery Corporation, Photek, Groove Armada, Paul Oakenfold, and more are called upon to rework the mastery that is the great Paul Simon.
Graceland – The Remixes is out via Sony and Legacy on June 1.
Electronic music’s distinguished duo Groove Armada returns with a brand new release rich in both inexhaustible funk and groove that’s sure to satisfy the entire dance floor. Their latest soon to be club staple “Keep Rock In,” is rich in bass, cosmic synth stabs and an awe-inspiring vocal hook that dates back to their early days of warehouse sets.
Groove Armada has been releasing non-stop formidable club records, including the Viva release, “Tune 101” alongside accompanying Jamie Jones remixes. While “Keep Rock In” is said to be the final release this year from Groove Armada, its slow-build majesty provides more than enough sustenance to hold even the hungriest of dance floors over until their next release.
Released via emerging label Weapons, the track holds true to their mantra: “Harking back to the days where the best dance tracks were made for the club, not the radio, Weapons promises to supply pure dance floor tracks, for DJs and dancers alike.”
