Richie Hawtin has officially released a custom edition of his PLAYdifferently Model 1 ten-channel mixing board. “Mick Hawtin [Richie’s Father] built, one-of-a-kind custom ten channel @playdifferently MODEL 1 “EX” with additional direct output modifications on the extended rear panel!” reads an Instagram post by Richie Hawtin. “Specially built to test next generation CLOSE live show ideas for the summer 2018 touring season! My Dad’s always been my secret weapon, over the years customizing my studio mixers for the early Plastikman albums and, of course, modifying my Allen and Heath Xone:62 and creating the first true midi-enabled DJ mixer! This year’s inaugural Goldrush Festival is gearing up to take place ahead of Thanksgiving in Arizona, wrangling together a star-studded dance and hip-hop leaning lineup across November 18 and 19.
