Each week, New Music Friday sweeps through with torrential force, showering streaming platforms with immeasurable amounts of new tunes. Just like Dancing Astronaut rounds up 25 of the biggest songs of the week for the Hot 25 Spotify playlist each New Music Friday, Lunar Lunes serves as a landing pad for SoundCloud users who want a whole new dose of tunes to kick off the work week.
Deorro and Danny Avila start the week off right with the release of their new collaboration, “Keep It Goin’,” and Nofone makes a mau5trap debut with “Who Is It?” Volant pays homage to Avicii with a remix of “Fade into Darkness,” and Bishu takes on one of today’s hottest songs, “Old Town Road.” Above & Beyond unveil Trance Wax’s rendition of “Clear Blue Water, and Mielo puts his own spin on NERVO‘s “Habit.” Thomas Gold kicks up the intensity with “HI LO,” and Trivecta brings aboard Monika Santucci for “Tornado.” Manic Focus brings his effortless good vibes to “Never Grew Up,” and Super8 & Tab deliver “Trigger” on Armada. Seattle’s Manatee Commune crafts the perfect spring soundtrack with “Growing Pains,” and ZΛCK MΛRTINO links with Dyson for “Mood.” SICK INDIVIDUALS rework August’s “Reaction” into a “SICK remode,” and Tennyson remixes PLS&TY‘s “Motives.”
With the success of track and their busy touring schedules, Avila and NERVO have visited numerous countries, experienced tons of new cultures and thus, had the chance to share special moments with people from all corners of the globe. Most of these encounters are positive ones, but the artists were also often reminded that not everybody they meet is in a position to enjoy life as freely as others.
To help those in need of aid in areas affected by natural disasters, conflict, epidemics or exclusion from health care, the artists have teamed up to raise money for Doctors Without Borders, the charity dedicated to providing vital support and relief to those affected by these issues worldwide.
For donations of 100–1000€, Danny and NERVO will be giving away special tiered rewards like show tickets, V-MODA branded headphones, backstage passes, and a meet & greet + photo session with the artists.
The fundraiser ends January 31, 2018. Donate here.
Danny Avila cemented his status as a multi-genre guru via Style Sessions, an eight-week engagement that situated the Spanish sensation behind the decks to spin an alternate genre each week. Flitting from future big room to disco house to moombahton in a weekly commitment that would likewise canvass trap/bass, drum & bass, deep & tech, trance, and g-house, Avila let his technical talent do the talking during the Style Sessions, but the conversation centered around Avila’s astonishing versatility does not, and did not halt there — it rather continues at a fluid rate, Avila’s “DJsounds Show 2017” mix at Ministry of Sound furthering the discussion. Avila’s “DJSounds Show 2017” mix melds the auditory with the visual, training a camera on Avila’s deck to allow listeners to observe Avila live spin the set in what emerges as yet another awe inspiring product from the producer.
