Sitting comfortably at the top of the bass music scene lies Los Angeles-based label Disciple, alongside 12th Planet-headed sub-label Disciple Round Table. Responsible for releasing some of the largest dubstep tracks in the past years and housing a stacked roster of powerhouse producers, anything fortunate enough to secure the Disciple seal of approval is sure to be a hit, and their new compilation album, Knights of the Round Table Vol. 3 is no exception.
Knights of the Round Table Vol. 3 features some impressive numbers from household names in Bass Music, such as Virtual Riot’s “Lost it (VIP)” and Barely Alive‘s “Spicy Future.” The compilation also highlights the talents of rising stars in noteworthy releases “Mad Stacks” by Bandlez and Control Freak, and “Bite” by Cyclops. The 23-track album is bursting with creativity and talent.
The past few years have been quite a roller coaster for iconic London club Fabric, which faced a near-permanent closure in 2019 after losing its license. Luckily, its attendees and artist guests pulled through en masse, petitioning successfully to keep the venue’s doors open. After a triumphant return, Fabric is now celebrating its 20th anniversary with a series of special edition live events—as well as a double-sided compilation that embodies the distinctive sounds present on party nights.
Fabric covers the four-to-the-floor, house and techno side of the club’s repertoire and is also meant to represent the London-specific culture around these genre. Notable contributors to this disc include Marcel Dettman, Nina Kraviz, Maya Jane Coles, IMOGEN, and Daniel Avery. Likewise, FABRICLIVE is meant for the same purpose—but this time for the more “live” genres like underground dubstep, drum ‘n’ bass, and jungle. The double-disc combination is set for a December 6 release on the club’s equally eponymous record label. They’ve offered a taste of fabric in the meantime with a lengthy, yet intriguing piece from UNKLE: “Catch Me If You Can.”
For those who have witnessed one of Bosnian-born/Swedish Salvatore Ganacci‘s off-the-wall live sets, it turns out the DJ-producer brings the same energy to the studio as he does booty poppin’ behind the decks.
His latest single, the ferociously tempo-ed “Cake,” with Anjunadeep veteran, Megatone, arrives on the back of a larger animal and source of fervent anticipation: the mysterious compilation Big Beat uploaded to its SoundCloud page earlier this week. The song’s thunderous beat, squelching bass, and pitched-up vocal cuts are redolent of the omnipresent excitement sweeping across the electronic scene for Miami Music Week.
Now, to coincide with “Cake”‘s arrival, Big Beat is unraveling the track list behind the formerly anonymous compilation, surfacing some of the most sought-after names in the game from Ekali to Valentino Khan, Dillon Nathaniel to Deathpact. The compilation as a whole succeeds in mirroring the new single’s energy and pummeling electro fervor. Fans can find Ganacci ringing in the release on Ultra’s main stage this Saturday, March 30.

Big Beat Records has something interesting under the hood, though what exactly the label is rolling out, as of now, remains a mystery. The imprint, which hosts artists like Skrillex, Ekali, Whethan, Knife Party, and more, posted 15 short, enigmatic snippets to SoundCloud on March 25, captioned simply with a release date of April 11. Without much more to go on, a quick dive into the audio teasers reveals that the impending release is likely a compilation from a group of artists—a fact that Big Beat confirmed in a statement to Dancing Astronaut.
The tracklist spans a wide variety of genres, all with a heavy bass theme, from pumping bass house to echoing big room trap. The mysterious, yet-to-be-revealed compilation sounds like it could include contributions from OWSLA labelmates—in fact, the third track teased already appears in Ekali’s Awakening Mix Vol. 6. Though largely unsubstantiated and merely speculation as of now, the EP’s first official release is due on March 29, and a full tracklist is expected to land soon as well. The nameless compilation definitely packs some heavy handed punches, and it’ll likely be well worth the wait come April 11. LNOE100, a landmark release for Sasha‘s iconic label and also its first-ever compilation, has officially landed on digital shelves. While it comes as a bit of a shocker to realize that it took Last Night On Earth 99 prior releases and nearly a decade to get to this point, there are few occasions that feel more fitting for this release format to finally manifest itself. High expectations had been placed on this record, especially with its bold concept. It saw a similar format to the Involver series in which the entirety of its songs are all remixes—but this time, each of the targets are treasured items from the label’s catalog, and a different remixer was assigned to each.
Sasha recruited a wide array of new and established talents for the honors, ranging from the big room techno sounds of Nicole Moudaber, to the moodier touches of Locked Groove and Fur Coat. It’s important to note that this is not in mix format; the tracks are meant to be savored individually, rather than enjoyed as part of a cohesive, big picture. This in no way diminishes LNOE100‘s quality.
The compilation begins with Radio Slave‘s rendition of Sasha’s vocal anthem and one of LNOE’s first releases, “Cut Me Down.” Clocking in at nearly 11 minutes, Radio Slave builds a slow burning groover that simmers in drawn-out synth notes, crisp percussion, and spacey sound effects. There’s no need to listen to the rest of ten remaining tracks to know that this one is already a standout. Similarly intoxicating is John Monkman‘s Modular Dub take on ThermalBear’s “U Love” and Dubspeeka’s mesmerizing transformation of Ejeca’s “HiRollin.” All three of these tracks feel fresh in their design, pointing toward a future for the label that remains on the cutting edge.
Quality lies in every corner of LNOE100. Frankey & Sandrino put forth an impressive interpretation of “PolyRhythmic” by Kate Simko and Tevo, turning into a progressive lane with sensual basslines and clever melodic manipulation. Fur Coat did a notable job in re-working Sasha’s “Singularity” into a darker, tougher number build for a superclub, while Yotto added energy and flow into the twinkling “Smokemonk.” One must not forget Locked Groove’s cerebral reconstruction of Max Cooper’s “Careless,” which takes the original hook and drapes it on top of stripped-down grooves and pungent kicks. It’s not too overpowering, but charged enough to play at peak time.
All in all, LNOE100 is a testament to the quality that Sasha has, and continues to curate as he leads his imprint into its next chapter. Order a copy here.

In their latest edition of the Big Beat: Ignition compilation series, they’ve chosen to honor that history by paying homage to the place that gave birth to the sound that started it all: Detroit.
On Big Beat Ignition: Detroit, the label has compiled an impressive track listing from house artists from across the globe, including Vanilla Ace, breakout star Rebuke, UK tastemaker Siege, and veteran Mike Vale. Hitting a range of styles and sounds, the compilation highlights house’s grounding in disco, hip-hop, and the warehouse parties in which its growth was nurtured.
LA’s Brainfeeder has celebrated its tenth anniversary in the best way for any label to mark a milestone: releasing a wonderful amount of new music. Started in 2008 by iconic electronic resident of the future Flying Lotus, Brainfeeder has since attracted some of the best out-of-the-box talents of the last decade, many of which are showcased on the imprint’s culminating compilation Brainfeeder X. The 36-track offering — with 22 new tracks in total — has been teased in the weeks leading up to its release, with artists like Ross From Friends, Thundercat, and FlyLo himself building hype with new singles that now have been released amongst a slew of other work.

With a best-of compilation release around the corner and a spectacular Coachella performance in the rearview, Jean Michel-Jarre has plenty to celebrate. Just yesterday, the musician quite fittingly rang in his birthday, and commemorated half a century of music with the release of a new track “Coachella Opening.”
“Coachella Opening” possesses the same hypnotic sequences that catapulted Jarre to stardom, and as its title hints, it was specifically written for the live performance last April as a part of the legendary French producer’s Electronica world tour. Jarre’s forthcoming work Planet Jarre is comprised of 41 of his finest works from his immensely extensive music catalog, hand-picked by Jarre himself and completely re-mastered to add a new and sparkling freshness to the sound of the package.
It’s the quintessential summer getaway, sans the passport and TSA lines: it’s Destinations Tulum. A 15-track compilation that first captures the spirit of insatiable wanderlust, couples it with the character of Tulum, and then translates it into electronic sound, Destinations Tulum bears a breezy tracklist of songs hand selected by Kaskade himself.
“Arkade presents: Tulum is the first in a series of compilations about traveling the world and becoming emotionally attached to different locations,” Kaskade said of the inaugural Destinations installment, released on the “Almost Back” producer’s Arkade imprint. “I’ve developed personal relationships with the moods of different spots, and wanted to start with Tulum as it’s always lingered with me. I hope with the compilation…I can bring back the feeling of being in Tulum. A sensory experience of sitting on the beach and walking through the town,” Kaskade added.
Destinations Tulum invites listeners to embark on an imaginative yet nonetheless experiential sonic venture through the streets of Tulum as Kaskade returns to the studio to plan the next stop on the musical itinerary.
Quickly following up on the recently release of his eight-track compilation album, mau5ville: level 1, deadmau5 just teased more good news, announcing an upcoming collaboration with indie-pop phenomenon and fellow Canadian, Lights. The Skin & Earth vocalist has racked up hundreds of millions of plays over the course of a storied career, with a rap sheet that boasts LPs, comic books, acoustic work and more. Hot off the heels of some fan praise on the acclaimed Rob Swire collaboration “Monophobia,” deadmau5 had this to offer.
It is unclear if the new joint effort with Lights will come as a one-off, or a single from the mau5’s newly announced level 2 follow up, which he will begin teasing via his Twitch account. For now, the waiting game begins on the new Lights collaboration, though luckily, we have a full compilation of new work that still very much has our attention captured.
