Slushii is back with a brand new remix of Charlie Puth‘s “The Way I Am.” The new remix effort comes off of Puth’s recently released sophomore album titled Voicenotes, which managed to obtain a Gold certification within four days of its release.

Slushii uses the Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter’s vocals as the centerpiece of the remix, accented by dreamy piano chords, weaving in steep drum builds before a stomping rave-ready break. Injecting Puth’s original work with a hefty tempo bump, the young LA-based beatmaker dips into crossover appeal, using the original’s radio pop groundwork to lean into electro house and happy hardcore territories. The record was premiered by Puth on all streaming platforms, along with a balancing acoustic version to temper Slushii’s fiery dance floor ignitor.

The special will have call-in opportunities and an interactive website for listeners to share stories and discuss resources for help.

Influencers featured on the show this year are Alessia CaraBebe RexhaCharlie Puth, Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park, Olympic gold medalist Michael Phelps, Mike McCready and Stone Gossard of Pearl Jam, Academy Award-winning actor and Thirty Seconds to Mars frontman Jared Leto, Stone Temple Pilots, Stephan Jenkins of Third Eye Blind and more.

He told Billboard, “In most parts of the world, suicide claims more lives than war, murder, and natural disasters combined. I hope that sharing my personal story, in music and conversation, helps open up the door to new discussions and awareness about mental health.”

Last year, the broadcast featured HalseyLogic, and Metallica. The iconic rock band said, “Talking about it is the most important thing.” Bassist Robert Trujillo reminded fans, “It’s not a sign of weakness to see a doctor when you are depressed.”

The special will be hosted by Seattle KISW-FM personality BJ Shea and, feature clinical psychologist and NowMattersNow.org CEO Dr. Ursula Whiteside as well as co-founder and executive director of Concussion Legacy Foundation, Dr. Chris Nowinksi. Veritable remix masters, Tritonal tackle Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth’s contribution to the Furious 7 soundtrack, “See You Again.”

Their latest re-imaginative endeavor, transforming the slow paced, piano-based Paul Walker tribute track into a melodic number outfitted with uplifting electronic trappings. Maintaining many of the original’s elements, Tritonal’s first and foundational alteration materializes in the addition of an understated guitar melody at the remake’s intro. Dual in function, the melody softens the intro, and seconds thereafter, provides the structure of the song’s build, the remix’s peak a harmonious collection of dulcet synths.
