DJ Snake has been teasing his sophomore LP for months, and the past few weeks have finally yielded a concrete release date and a full tracklist—giving fans plenty to look forward to as the countdown toward the album’s full release carried on.

While French producer announced that the album would be released in full on July 26, he decided to surprise fans with the full release via Spotify one day early. The album is titled Carte Blanche, and fans have heard a few of the songs already, including “Magenta Riddim,” and hit “Taki Taki” featuring Selena Gomez, Ozuna, and Cardi B, among others. This new project showcases DJ Snake’s willingness to embrace a wide ranging variety of genres within the compilation, and he enlists an equally versatile cast of collaborators and vocalists. The album is out now via Geffen Records.

Lil Nas X buckles down on debut EP, ‘7’

Lil Nas X buckles down on debut EP, ‘7’734486254

In the context of Lil Nas X‘s release history, much like the horses of the viral hit, “Old Town Road” is now “in the back,” as the rapper’s debut EP, 7, begins to circulate. The eight-cut showing fittingly opens with the Billy Ray Cyrus-assisted remix of “Old Town Road,” in a nod to the track that first propelled the fledgling artist into mainstream prominence. A tough act to follow given its infectious, undeniably catchy appeal, “Old Town Road” precedes “Panini.”

The second song of the EP, “Panini” is further evidence of Lil Nas X’s acute ear for crafting tunes that are capable of securing smash-hit status. Lil Nas X scraps the country constructions of “Old Town Road” for favor of a half-rapped half-sung style that is traditionally hip-hop-leaning in its arrangement. To extend the country imagery of “Old Town Road,” “Panini” proves that Lil Nas X is far from a one-trick “pony.”

Lil Nas X calls on Cardi B for a feature on “Rodeo,” the sole collaborative effort of the production, “Old Town Road – Remix” notwithstanding. The remaining collection of EP inclusions illustrate a variety of musical influences to have been active in Lil Nas X’s development of the debut showing.

To say Ed Sheeran has become one of the most successful artists in the streaming era in an understatement. He is the number one most streamed artist on Spotify with over 61 million listeners a month, with the number one most streamed song, “Shape Of You,”—the only song with over 2 billion plays. Sheeran has four songs with over a billion plays, and from the looks of the roster on his upcoming No. 6 LP, he’s rearing for more.

Featured collaborations on the newly revealed tracklist include Skrillex, Khalid, Camila Cabello, Cardi B, Stormzy, Yebba, Travis Scott, Eminem, 50 Cent, Young Thug, JHUS, Ella Mai, Paulo Londra, H.E.R., Meek Mill, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, Bruno Mars, and Chris Stapleton. This is also leaving out the two singles on the album that have already been released—”Cross Me” featuring Chance The Rapper & PnB Rock and number 2 Billboard chart-topper “I Don’t Care” with Justin Bieber. In an eclectic variety of collaborators, the British singer/songwriter has blanketed his album with a smorgasbord of artists in almost every pop genre.

Miley Cyrus shares ‘SHE IS COMING,’ the first volume of trilogy EP series [Stream]Miley Cyrus EP

America’s audacious star child, Miley Cyrus, has unfurled her first arm, SHE IS COMING, of her forthcoming, three-part EP series, SHE IS MILEY CYRUS.

Riding sidecar for Cyrus’s new EP is a wrecking ball of a guest roster. With support arriving in the form of Swae Lee‘s inviting intimations on “Party Up The Street,” to Ghostface Killah’s cutting outro verse on “D.R.E.A.M.,” among a sundry of other iridescent industry icons, including RuPaul, Mark Ronson, and “23” collaborator, Mike WiLL Made-It. Cyrus’s not-so-surreptitious lyric on the EP’s “Cattitude:” “I love you, Nicki, but I listen to Cardi.” incited quite a frenzy following her recent live performance of the song at BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend. Miley attempted to clip the contention in an interview with Roman Kemp, speaking highly of both Nicki Minaj and Cardi B, to whom the lyric alludes.

“They’re both queens,” she announced on Capital Breakfast.

The trilogy consists of EP installments entitled, SHE IS COMING, SHE IS HERE, and SHE IS EVERYTHING. The newly arrived EP is Cyrus’s first multi-track release since Younger Now of 2017. The two remaining extended plays are due for release before 2019’s end.

Austin City Limits Music Festival has unleashed its 2019 lineup ahead of its two autumnal weekends: Oct. 4-6 and Oct. 11-13.

Since 2002, the festival has drawn music fans spanning all genres to Zilker Park for consecutive weekends of the industry’s top names. This year’s iteration boasts Guns n’ Roses, Mumford & Sons, Childish Gambino, The Cure, Cardi B (weekend one), Billie Eilish, Tame Impala, and Robyn (weekend two) as headliners. Electronic music fans will delight in lineup additions like GRiZ, RL Grime, Fisher, Hippie Sabotage, Kaytranada, Troyboi, Jai Wolf, and more.

Childish Gambino was forced to cancel his appearance at last year’s festival after a foot injury, so fans who were hoping to catch his performance in 2018 will delight in two performances at the festival’s 2019 edition.

The festival features eight different stages to cater to fans of rock, indie, country, folk, electronic, and hip-hop, so regardless of one’s musical persuasion, this lineup features something for everyone.

Tickets and more information are available here.

Cardi B, Selena Gomez and Ozuna join DJ Snake for surprise performance of ‘Taki Taki’ at CoachellaTaki Taki

It’s 24 hours into Coachella weekend one and DJ Snake could have already won the top spot for not only most, but highest profile guest appearances in one act. The French producer performed at the Outdoor Theatre on Friday night, and when he dropped hit single and recent release “Taki Taki,” the song was performed live by not one, but all four of the featured artists on the track.

Ozuna came out on stage to perform his opening vocals, and was subsequently joined by Cardi B and Selena Gomez who rounded out the performance. Suzy Exposito of Rolling Stone recorded the entire performance, so those who were unable to catch the spectacle live are at least able to watch the moment online.

The official music video for “Taki Taki” hit one billion views just 16 weeks after its release, and now that the four artists have come together to perform the track live at Coachella, the song will undoubtedly continue to make waves thanks to its star studded lineup of artists and its feel good Latin vibes.
