To say Ed Sheeran has become one of the most successful artists in the streaming era in an understatement. He is the number one most streamed artist on Spotify with over 61 million listeners a month, with the number one most streamed song, “Shape Of You,”—the only song with over 2 billion plays. Sheeran has four songs with over a billion plays, and from the looks of the roster on his upcoming No. 6 LP, he’s rearing for more.

Featured collaborations on the newly revealed tracklist include Skrillex, Khalid, Camila Cabello, Cardi B, Stormzy, Yebba, Travis Scott, Eminem, 50 Cent, Young Thug, JHUS, Ella Mai, Paulo Londra, H.E.R., Meek Mill, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, Bruno Mars, and Chris Stapleton. This is also leaving out the two singles on the album that have already been released—”Cross Me” featuring Chance The Rapper & PnB Rock and number 2 Billboard chart-topper “I Don’t Care” with Justin Bieber. In an eclectic variety of collaborators, the British singer/songwriter has blanketed his album with a smorgasbord of artists in almost every pop genre.

The album, No. 6, is set for release July 12.

Camila Cabello, a former member of Fifth Harmony, is rounding out the spring season with a chip on her shoulder, releasing her latest collaboration “Find U Again” with Mark Ronson.

In working with stars like Miley Cyrus, Bruno Mars, and more, Ronson has more than exemplified his ability to catalyze radio sensations with his touch in the studio, producing an inevitable radio ravager with this latest collaboration. “Find U Again” incorporates ’90s diva feels with some funky leads and light drum hits, while bringing in sounds from the current decade with a synth-geared bass line. The Cuban-American’s vocals are a prime addition to the arrangement, bound to shoot this pop sizzler up the charts.

The track isn’t all Cabello has in store this year, as she was recently seen hooked up to a mic in Diplo‘s Instagram story. Luckily, a fan account captured the evidence.

DJ Earworm blends Ariana Grande, Post Malone, Zedd, Drake, and more 2018 favorites in annual mashupDj Earworm 2018

For more than a decade, DJ Earworm has been blending the year’s top songs into a massive “United States of Pop” mashup at the end of each year. He began the series in 2007, kicking off with a combo of songs from Soulja Boy, Akon, Avril Lavigne, Rihanna, Fergie, and more. It’s been 11 years since that inaugural mashup, and Earworm hasn’t slowed down in the slightest.

His 2018 edition just made its YouTube debut on December 4, highlighted by tracks from Ariana Grande, Post Malone, Zedd, Childish Gambino, Marshmello, and more. The four-minute mashup kicks off with songs from Bebe Rexha and Florida Georgia Line, and Maroon 5 and Cardi B, before cycling through Drake‘s iconic “In My Feelings,” Bruno Mars and Cardi B’s “Finesse,” Travis Scott and Drake’s “Sicko Mode,” and dozens others.

One record label has managed to stay atop the Billboard Hot 100 for an entire year

Sony/ATV Music Publishing just pulled off an especially difficult feat in the highly-competitive global music space — one that deserves a good old-fashioned tip of the hat and a pat on the back. As of yesterday, May 7th, the publishing house reached a milestone 52-week run of having published or co-published songs that reached the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the U.S.

As the world’s leading music publisher, Sony/ATV’s uninterrupted chart-topping streak comes as artist/songwriter Drake enters his fourth week at No. 1 with “Nice For What,” in a sequence dating back to May 2017.

The year-long sequence began in record-breaking fashion when Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee, and Justin Bieber‘s “Despacito” enjoyed 16 weeks ruling the chart from May to September of 2017. The span of time also equated to the longest stay at Billboard‘s No. 1 spot in the near six-decade history of the Hot 100.

The chart-topping run also involves some of Sony/ATV’s most popular and successful songwriters in Taylor Swift (“Look What You Made Me Do,” three weeks at No. 1), Ed Sheeran (“Perfect,” six weeks at No. 1), Post Malone (“Rockstar,” eight weeks at No. 1), and Cardi B, who had just then been signed to the company with her debut hit single, “Bodak Yellow (Money Moves).”

Drake then rounded out Sony/ATV’s monumental year dominating the Billboard Hot 100 as he achieved back-to-back chart-toppers with “God’s Plan” and “Nice For What,” which has placed the Canadian rapper at No.1 for the past 15 weeks and counting.

Sony/ATV Chairman and CEO, Martin Bandier, released a press statement upon the label’s accomplishment:

“This is an incredible accomplishment by our worldwide A&R team. At Sony/ATV we strive to be successful creatively on a global basis and the fruits of our labor are shown by the diversity of our songwriters who have been No. 1 on the Hot 100 over the past year.”

Sony/ATV Music & Publishing headquarters in New York City, NY.

Here is a week-by-week breakdown of Sony/ATV’s year-long stay at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100:

“Despacito” – Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee feat. Justin Bieber (Sony/ATV writers Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee, Erika Ender) – 16 weeks at No. 1
“Look What You Made Me Do” – Taylor Swift (Taylor Swift, Jack Antonoff) – 3 weeks at No. 1
“Bodak Yellow (Money Moves)” – Cardi B (Cardi B, Jorden Thorpe) – 3 weeks at No. 1
“Rockstar” – Post Malone feat. 21 Savage (Louis Bell, Tank God) – 8 weeks at No. 1
“Perfect” – Ed Sheeran (Ed Sheeran) – 6 weeks at No. 1
“Havana” – Camila Cabello feat. Young Thug (Camila Cabello, Louis Bell, Frank Dukes, Pharrell Williams) – 1 week at No. 1
“God’s Plan” – Drake (Drake, Harmony Samuels) – 11 weeks at No. 1
“Nice For What” by Drake (Drake, Lauryn Hill, Alan Bergman, Marilyn Bergman, Marvin Hamlisch) – 4 weeks at No. 1

NMF Roundup: Tritonal shines bright, Whethan leaves a sweet aftertaste, and Camila Cabello goes grey

This post was originally published on this site

The most important day of every week: New Music Friday. As each week brings a succession of new music from some of electronic music’s biggest artists, here’s a selection of tracks that shouldn’t be missed.

Tritonal shines bright with the release of his carbonated synth single “Shinin’ Bright.”

Whethan leaves a saccharine aftertaste with the release of his newest electro pop ballad “Aftertaste.”

Netflix has released the soundtrack to their biggest budget film yet in Bright, and Camila Cabello injects her vivacious pop fervor into “Crown.”

Two friends turn up the volume with their latest  bubbly, future bass inspired hit featuring Kevin Writer “Just a Kid.”

Blast from the past: HVPPY HOUR is here to incite a frenzy with the release of his remix of the Skrillex edition of “Levels.” People don’t forget.

The melodic energy that Camo & Crooked produce with their characteristic atmospheric synths and rapid fire drum lines is intangible, so get with the feeling.

SNBRN’s winter sessions mix is the perfect amalgamation of all things house, turn on the fireplace and get shakin’!

12 days of rave gets even better today because Ducky has released his set of DJ Tools, much to the delight of producers looking to hermit themselves in the studio over the holidays.
