Dillon Francis and Boombox Cartel expel explosive collaboration, ‘Drip,’ with DesiignerDillon Francis

If a track bears Dillon Francis‘s ubiquitous emblem, listeners can expect a record that’s a little bit bombastic, packed with a whole lot of flavor. For his latest Mad Decent development, Francis signed on with equally fervid producer, Boombox Cartel for a smoldering new single, “Drip.”

Bolstered by hip-hop hot topic, Desiigner, “Drip” does just that, flowing through styles spanning Francis’s buoyant moombahton muscle to Boombox Cartel’s fluttering future bass/trap finesse. The producers’ seminal, festival-friendly flairs are on full, twofold display, with neither entity’s style audibly smothered by the other, as often happens with high-profile collaborations.

The momentous tune is a guaranteed soon-be-fixture in both producers’ prolific summer festival bookings, which include HARD Summer and EDC Korea for Francis and Lollapalooza and Electric Zoo for Boombox Cartel.

Boombox Cartel is a big playmaker this 2019, and is coming off some pretty notable hits as the summer approaches. In April, the LA native hopped on a Breakfast n Vegas collaboration that featured breakout Latin star Bad Bunny & Tory Lanez. Shortly after, he headlined a sold out show at Brooklyn’s newest premier venue Avant Gardner.

Now, Cartel continues this momentum by sticking with today’s hip-hop connoisseurs, one of those being MadeinTYO who’s been holding it down as one of Atlanta’s finest since 2015’s “Uber Everywhere.” Staying on the subject of cars, “NEW WIP” features bars about a “rarri” over heavy bass, signature trap drums, and some blazing horns. This is a wild one to cue up behind the decks, so prepare for shaky floors at the his next headlining show.

Boombox Cartel is currently on “The Cell” tour, hitting prime US nightclubs including Marquee NY, Royale in Boston, and more before a Lollapalooza showing on August 1. Head here for tickets and a full list of dates.

Boombox Cartel and Breakfast N Vegas translate to one hot new single. The two electronic duos together tout a fresh tune that engages Tory Lanez‘s R&B skills and Bad Bunny‘s inimitable Latin flair. Lanez’s smooth vocal tone ushers said track, “4U,” into motion. The gentle tones of a piano function as Lanez’s sole assistance in kicking off the single in these first few seconds of play.

An assembly of synths unfurls at a mid-tempo pace separating Lanez’s opening contribution from Bad Bunny’s vocal work. The aforementioned vocalist’s voice peaks right as the main synthlines begin fading out. “4U” creeps forward at an unhurried, unencumbered pace that replicates the slow sizzle of summer heat–in sonic form. It sounds like Boombox Cartel and Breakfast N Vegas have a veritable playlist staple their newest endeavor.

Chicago’s Lollapalooza provided fans an early morning gift in the form of its 2019 lineup. Returning to its home of Grant Park from August 1-4, the four-day affair boasts yet another all-star roster with everything from hip-hop to EDM. Perhaps the biggest indication of electronic’s influence over the modern music sphere is the festival’s headliner list. The Chainsmokers and Flume are both listed as headliners, joining a list that includes heavy hitters like Ariana Grande, J Balvin, and The Strokes. Other dance music acts making the lengthy list are RÜFÜS DU SOL, RL Grime, Whethan, Alesso, Boombox Cartel, and Lane 8, to name a few. Similar to Coachella, it seems that the many shades of dance music are playing an increasingly larger role in the festival’s lineup year upon year.

Nitti Gritti curates spooky Orbit playlist ahead of Halloween Warehouse showNitti Gritti Drive EP

Nitti Gritti is a force to be reckoned with in 2018. In August, he unveiled Bootlegs Vol. 2, a remix EP including edits of Earth, Wind, & Fire‘s “September,” Waka Flocka Flames‘ “Hard In Da Paint,” and other cult classics. More recently, he’s gifted fans with an original EP entitled Drive released on Diplo‘s Mad Decent imprint. With this string of EP releases (and a few remixes in between), the Miami-based producer is pushing boundaries and earning tour support for high-end artists such as NGHTMRE, Etc! Etc!, Party Favor, and more.

Now, on October 26, one of his most anticipated shows of the year has arrived, as Gritti will take the stage with Valentino Khan and Dillon Francis at Light & Life’s Halloween Warehouse 2018. To prime attendees for what should be a freaky night in the depths of Brooklyn, Gritti has curated an Orbit Spotify playlist exclusively for DA.

The selection includes hard-hitting tracks from his current rotation, including favorites from his Drive EP, the Boombox Cartel and Flosstradamus team-up “ID,” “Crystal Eyes” from Ekali‘s 2018 debut EP, and more.

Boombox Cartel delivers head turning new single ‘People I Know,’ featuring Panama

Boombox Cartel is back with a brand new single titled “People I Know” featuring Sydney-based songwriter Panama, and the phrase, “breath of fresh air” barely begins to cover it. The Los Angeles DJ, known for a booming catalog of bombastic trap and bass goes in a completely different direction on his latest original work, ushering in a vibrant, synth-pop sound, born from an intriguing retro 80’s inspiration. The record comes out of left field but provides the perfect summer backdrop with infectious indie stylings. Boombox Cartel orchestrated the head-turner with the intention of surprising fans with a different, though thematically rooted new sound, telling Billboard,

“This isn’t something the fans would expect, but I want them to experience the roots of this project, at least for just one song. It felt fitting to release it before the summer ends.”

Boombox Cartel – NBD

This post was originally published on this site

Boombox Cartel

It seems Boombox Cartel are an endless fountain of creativity and intuition when it comes to their storied track record of bass-heavy dance productions. They have delivered once more in the form of “NBD,” off the heels of their powerful “Moon Love,” which featured the vocals of Nessly and their Travis Scott remix.

“NBD” is coyly titled, given its impact on the dancefloor. In their usual fashion, Boombox Cartel have created a monstrous main stage jam, whose heavy, ear-shattering aspects are temporarily abated by an airy, melodic breakdown — a calming “eye of the storm.” so to speak, before listeners are doused once more with a drop made for chaotic movement.
